Dobes's bringing back the vibes from Halak, Guhle is having the best defensive match, Caufield scoring, back and forth with the effort from both sides.
My last word about Dobes hasn't just won two games and given up only one goal- he has DOMINATED at the NHL level-that is extremely rare. You have a goalie that is 6 ft 5 in tall with razor sharp reflexes who takes up a large area of the net many teams would die for this type of goalie. Again he dominated in the shootout against Colorado.Montembault too has the fast reflexes to be a dominent NHL goalie but I think Dobes may be quicker!! He makes hard saves look easy- in the NHL!!! The Montreal Canadiens will go as far as their defense and especially their goaltending takes them they have enough offense to win a lot of games there is high probability if they continue this pace they will make the playoffs and possibly more!
Dobes' performance is going to create a healthy competition with Montembeault who, I'm sure, wants to remain the team's 1st goalie. If Dobes keeps this up, he WILL get more starts which, in turn, will give Montembeault a chance to recover.

Did you watch the Chicago game ? Two bad penalties (on one call) and chasing the game vs a hot goalie. 40 shots on net. There’s no easy wins even against Chicago.
And Columbus. Don't forget them. 4 and 2 on the road trip with wins against the last 4 Cup champions (Tampa, Colorado, Vegas and Florida, whom they shut out), and losses against two of the worst teams in the league. But that's how it goes. Chicago had just been utterly humiliated in the Winter Classic, so they were out to make a statement in their next game (and even then, the Habs were the better team for most of the night - they need to clean up the giveaways for sure, but most nights when you put 40 shots on net, you win).
