I've become a really bad insomniac. The fact that I habitually stay up to 2:30 (or so) in the morning just to catch your new video upload isn't helping. Having said that, I will miss your videos. Your posts on IG are not much more than teasing for me, but it will suffice. Everyone needs a break from time to time, enjoy yours. (Henrietta made it!!!!)

@@GoldShawFarm I found your channel a few weeks ago and absolutely love it! Vermont is like a smaller, more hilly version of Michigan. Right down to high-quality, USA-made Maple Syrup. Better than what those dang Canadians make! A friend and I have wanted to invest in perhaps 25 acres to do almost exactly what you are doing. Seeing your successes & mistakes makes me feel like it's an attainable thing - given the land & buildings. (Which is a big "if") With all the footage you have of the fowl, perhaps it would be possible to one day string together hours of cut & uncut "ducks & geese from a tripod" footage and make a kids content or something? Who knows. Keep those cameras rolling for when you have enough time to edit!

I have been a long time lurker from Iowa. I started watching your videos last spring about this time of year when I was looking at increasing my urban flock. I started with 4 chickens and have now nearly maxed out at 17 chickens and 7 ducks. Your videos have really helped me provide a great quality of life for my feathered friends. Watching you collect eggs also helped me identify the nest my duck hens build this last month (which is so different from chickens... who knew ducks bury eggs???)More than that, your videos are my favorite thing about Monday mornings. You obviously have good time management skills, to have made it this long with all of the time spent starting up a farm, learning what and how to do things, repairing and demolishing old things, caring for animals, creating pod casts, recording videos, editing great videos, spending time with Alison, and now Toby Dog. It's amazing that you have time for an outside job at all, much less a full time job. Enjoy your break. It sounds like the perfect time of year for you to relax, enjoy time with friends and family, and stay indoors more and write.

(and seeing how huge Toby Dog is when you get back.) It"s funny you mention writing a book. A few months ago I started working with a dude who writes, draws, and publishes his own comics. (Broken Universe Comics) And we have started to brainstorm out a graphic novel.

I will miss you, toby and the feathered ones. Enjoy the laid back style of your utube postings. The snow and the temperatures you have just blows my mind. Living where there is no snow in winter makes for facinating watching. I was ordering chemical free duck jerky for my dogs and thought what a good business that could be. So expensive but a great product. Maybe something like that could let you be a full time farmer and writer. Enjoy your holiday.
