Snow single handedly stops the plot from going to shit, explains what's going on, grabs the girl, and hops off to save the world in a flying motorcycle. WHY is this ending not canon again?
Probably the best possible joke about how bananas XIII-2 is. Snow has been having his own adventure and it doesn't make any sense, but it's not like you can explain what YOU'VE been doing, right?
Even without this paradox ending, I kind of had the feeling that Alyssa was strange in the future. Serah was even looking at Alyssa at some point in the game with an uncomfortable feeling. This ending describes something about that at least.
well...remember when she told her story to noel and serah about being a purge survivor and how she was trapped when their hideout collasped and how she had that dream of her spirit looking at that gravestone with her name on it? She originally died in that collapse but due to Etro distorting time to release light and the others from crystal stasis at the end of FF13 she was revived. Restoring the timeline would correct the distortion causing Alyssa to disappear since she was supposed to be dead.
maybe, but Snow does say "without Hope, we're done for" and "without [Hope] we might as well forget about having any kind of future" which I take to mean there's still more than Hope needs to do to ensure the future. Just because Academia is safe if Hope dies doesn't mean the future is safe.
Poor Hope and Noel: Snow rides off with the girl on his motorcycle leaving them behind. Joking aside I think this is one of my favorite paradox endings because the team from FFXIII is briefly reunited and there's a sense of endless battles with Caius. In the long-run, Caius wins no matter what by sheer attrition.
I know right!? From the very second She came to get you out of jail the first time you meet, I knew something was off with her. Spent my entire first playthrough suspicious of her at every turn, and when you go into the trap gate when Mog looks back at her strangely. it's just like: "I knew something was wrong with her! But what the heck is it?" Then I finally get to this Paradox Ending and it's just like: Jaw = dropped!
@L E V E L 0 Plus, some of her facial expressions seemed off at certain points, like in 10 AF when Hope was telling Serah and Noel everything that had been happening.
Serah: And this is how I set off on an exciting and scary adventure with my hero, Snow. Even though I said I wanted Noel with me when I went to Valhalla....OH WELL! Sucks to him! ^_^ Noel: T_T they left me, they actually left me. Hope: *pats on back* there there Noel, there there.
This is how the ending SHOULD have gone. Alyssa: "Here's the last artifact, see you guys in 100 years!" Snow: "FALCON PUNCH!" *Alyssa is sent flying* Snow: "Hey baby, wanna go an an ADVENTURE?" Serah: "
By far my favorite Paradox ending so far. If the game ended like this, I don't think I could've been mad. I was flipping out through each part. Snow to the rescue, takes Serah away, then the motorcycle flies. Win, win, and.. oh, what's that? Oh yes, of course. Win.
This was the last paradox ending I saw, and I wasn't expecting much since the other endings seemed kinda "meh" and confusing to me (except for the one where Serah decides to stay in the dream world), but omg I LOVED THIS ONE. It made me so happy, since I'm a Snow x Serah fan for life.
This is like the comic relief ending XD Made me laugh anyway, it's totally random and totally doesn't fit in! Would Serah seriously take off like that, as if Noel and her never had a friendship at all? Though it was worth watching to see Hope lose his cool ;)
If Serah and Noel change the future, Alyssa will disappear because she was meant to die in the initial Purge in FFXIII. Her being alive was a paradox that Serah and Noel would unknowingly solve. In the canon story, Alyssa doesn't show up again after Academia 4XX AF. That's because she never died in the Purge in the corrected timeline. It's pretty sad and the game doesn't treat her character well at all. She was totally justified in her actions.
Come ON! That was the game ending I wanted to play! Going all out with Snow and gang, full force, punching everything on my path and being a general badass awesome!
@totszwai You don't have to start the entire game over... you just have to close the gate for Academia 4XX AF in the Historia Crux and enter it. You'll just replay all the events from before, which is basically just handing over the Graviton Cores because you already have them in your inventory. I always thought closing the gates didn't do anything, but they do!
Jason Marsden. He does Kovu in Lion king II, Chester from Fairly Odd Parents, as well as other VA's if you're thinking of familiarity through cartoons. He also does several voices in Skyrim.
3:41 Serah, come with me, okay? Me: Where have I heard that line before? *remembers Terminator 2* Arnold: Come with me of you want to live. Oh that. -_-
@IzanagiProductions1 Remember what she said when you 1st met her in Bresha Ruins. She had dreams that her name was on the gravestone in the ruins. Then much later she says that if Serah and Noel fix the timeline, she wouldn't exist. The implication is that in the original timeline, Alyssa was killed in the opening cutscene to FFXIII during the Purge, and it is only thanks to time crashing that her fate was replaced with another stranger.
Um i don't know if you'll se this but no this wouldn't of because remember what snow said caius always 'fixed' what snow 'messed' up in the time paradox so it would go on forever an endless cycle with snow being to slow to save the day
While, yes the rest of the Academy would have known how to complete Bhunivelze, that doesn't mean that was the only thing that Hope needed to do. We don't know everything Hope was working on throughout the game. There could be a lot more they haven't told us.
@UdtheImp it actually makes sense. if you do take the artefact like you normally do, the time line gate thingy you float through started collapsing and sarah and noel got seperated. the way alyssa's was starting at mog and the others was also slight foreshadowing in addition to the fact that she just happened to find the vagabond artefact lying outside the bldg. very convenient.
when u give Alyssa the 5th gravity orb dont skip the cutscene when shes gonna give u the artifact then a live action trigger will occur and then u will get the option if u skip it then it'll automactically take it as a yes and give u the artifact
So I have the FFXIII-2 Guidebook. And the little description for this paradox is "this is one of the quickest paradox endings to obtain, and one that resolves a strange mystery that arises when you speak to certain NPCs (particularly Alyssa's admirer)......." Huh? This ending doesn't explain any of that except Alyssa is a traitor. Can anyone explain? :S
I wonder if you can do this on the first time around or have to wait to do a redo? Man, I know it's gonna be a blast, and I agree that there should be a DLC episode with those two's adventure in it. :)
this is the best ending. it should have been dlc. snow comes in like a true chad. alyssa gets exposed. and we would finally see the sera and snow relationship.
my favorite ending and its a perfect setup if they were to use this as canon for a xiii-3 you have noel and hope on one team and snow and serah on another
ya did the same thing to me. and now that its done the only way to try again is to close the gate and start the world over. the strategy guide don't help much ether as Ive noted loads of errors in it.
enable the paradox scope fragment skill. you get the skill from the mystic in serendipity if you beat the final boss. then redo the academia cutscene, it should give you a choice now.
yup that sums it up. she was having dreams of her original fate she knew she wasnt supposed to be alive cause after we correct the distortion barely anyone remembers her in Academia. Anyway your welcome.
Oh how I wish this was the true ending to the game

That's some grade A foreshadowing right there.
VMMMCXV Nice catch!
Omfg I just got it....
Even without this paradox ending, I kind of had the feeling that Alyssa was strange in the future. Serah was even looking at Alyssa at some point in the game with an uncomfortable feeling. This ending describes something about that at least.
Serah: "Snow how are we suppose to go through the era without being on the road."
Snow: "Roads?, Where we're going we don't need roads."
well...remember when she told her story to noel and serah about being a purge survivor and how she was trapped when their hideout collasped and how she had that dream of her spirit looking at that gravestone with her name on it? She originally died in that collapse but due to Etro distorting time to release light and the others from crystal stasis at the end of FF13 she was revived. THIS ENDING IS CANON IN OUR HEARTS
(Hope goes off on Snow) Hope your 14 year old is showing
maybe, but Snow does say "without Hope, we're done for" and "without [Hope] we might as well forget about having any kind of future" which I take to mean there's still more than Hope needs to do to ensure the future. Just because Academia is safe if Hope dies doesn't mean the future is safe.

Gotta give it to Snow for duking it out with him for seemingly as long as Lightning, a Knight Of Etro
2:41 I like how Noel is like "Damn, nice bike o_0"
Yeah, the bike is the Shiva sisters, of course it's nice and Noel would be curious about it. (You can see Shiva sisters 's faces in that scene.)
Events after paradox ending
"Right..so I'm left with you." - Noel
"Erh, who are you?" - Hope
"What! Oh nevermind!" - Noel
This would've been a badass storyline
I love Lightning Returns, but I would have been 100% OK with ffxiii-3 being an extension of this story line.
Jubilee84 I thought it was dude it literally took place like hundreds of years after this right?
We need a spin off game based on this. Either that or a fanfic. ONE OF THE TWO
or two of one
Best ending ever

I wish Square Enix would have made a little sequel story to each paradox ending...
If Serah and Noel change the future, Alyssa will disappear because she was meant to die in the initial Purge in FFXIII. Her being alive was a paradox that Serah and Noel would unknowingly solve. They should do XIII-2 Instead. With Snow, Serah, Noel, Sazh, Hope and Lighting being the main characters.
You have to beat the game in order to have this option because when you beat the game, you gain the paradox scope.
HELP! I try to achieve paradox scope endings but when i go to academia 4xx af alyssa is not there. Why? What can i do now?
