The fact he throws away the guns to use his swords cause he got bored of them is quite amazing
It's because he loves fighting.
That's why he's bored of using firearms. He doesn't get the feeling he's actually fighting.
Notice how after he tosses his guns and picks up his swords, he says that close combat is more his style.
Presumably he picked those guns up off CoD scrubs while in the Rift.
This fight is incredibly hard. I could manage if he didn’t heal. This is the only boss in FF13-2 that I never beat.

Yeah, Gilgamesh has to be one of the coolest FF-characters ever. I love the guy - he's amazing :-) (plus his theme is fantastic, and this version is very nicely done)

@Kind Citizen Well alot of peoples problems with that is that Gilgemesh is just about the only character across the series to be consistently the same person always developing and changing little by little as the games go on. Type Zero was basically his origin story so it would be hard to have a version of him come before that. I think that was what FF15 was going for. while i disliked his characterisation in 15 i loved his moves they made it really feel like you ware fighting him.
Something tells me the original Mesopotamian Epic would be a lot different if Gilgamesh was a six-armed mutant with fully-automatic guns. Still, he was a big-mouthed giant in the tale, so that's actually very accurate.
Gilgameš? No. Enkidu was his friend the great enemy was Humbaba! :-)

Santiago Scarpino Gilgamesh was a dickbag in the tale. Like they have a tendency to call him the king of heroes but what the story is about is just him raping, stealing, and killing anyone who tries to stop him. He then tries to become a god but fails and goes home. Honestly even Fate Gil is a better guy than epic Gil.

Also, killing anyone who tries to stop him? That is kind of vague. Yeah, Gilgamesh kills in the story, but it was mostly monsters and brigands.

This version of Gilgamesh is pretty awesome. I can definitely believe him giving guns a try. This remake of the Big Bridge song is also incredible.
rexservorum “This version of Gilgamesh” is actually the exact same Gilgamesh you mert in FF games since FFV. He can travel theough dimensions, thus every Gilgamesh you meet is the same, unlike every Shivas, every Ifrits etc, who look similar but are different.

You could most likely guess how disappointed I was when I played Duodecim only to find out it wasn't DiMaggio.
FFXII was one of the first FF's I had ever played and that lead to my first encounter with Gilgamesh.
Man, the Gilgamesh battles are one of THE MOST memorable things about FFXII for me.
Personally, I hope he partners up with Enkidu more, in future games.

Geez people back in the day couldn't take a joke, him having Guns was meant to be a joke, hence why the fight with guns is so easy and short, and he comes back to his old weaponery for real fight afterward

funniest part is that FF actually does somewhat realistic background for gilgamesh hehe he was originally an ancient sumerian warrior king who sought immortality... well he definately got it =D
somewhat yea, gilgamesh was basically a semi-god, the greatest king that possessed all the treasures, with enkidu he even killed a god so i find it funny that he's being defeated by bartz so easily

@@PLASBEZ That's a different spin on Gilgamesh in that specific game. Same with 15 being a different Gilgamesh than what we've been used to.
@@TigerheartFire Ohh, I thought that was the Gilgamesh we know.. Since I always thought that was Gilga when he was a kid and then yknow. Since he travels through dimensions then that would've make sense.
The Gilgamesh in all the FF game is the same person... He got lost in the Void after Exdeath shoved him in it in FF5, and he wandered around until he got to various FF worlds...
This is the first fight I've ever seen from FF XIII-2 and I must say this was just as awesome as it was confusing.
I didn't know what was going on here but it was pretty cool to watch.
Think Final Fantasy X-2's battle style with 70% more micro-managing.
but x-2 feels way more in depth than either of the xiii games

Well, right off the bat... I can see Zantetsuken, Excalibur, his Signature Naginaga, Masamune, and a few others I can't recognize since he moves so fast :3
As much as I wasn't a huge fan of XIII-2, this is one of the coolest fights with Gilgamesh in the entire series. He's probably my favorite character of all time. I really dig this.
Also, possibly the best version of the "Clash on the Big Bridge" theme.
Gilgamesh: No no no this isn't working firearms are just too boring I don't even feel like I'm fighting!.... Close Combat, yes that's more my style! And now the true contest begins!

The gold and white sword: Excalibur (inspired in ff9 excalibur)
The grey Excalibur replica: Excalipoor
The fan shaped weapon: Bashosen (Enkidu's shape in ff5)
The purple curved sword: Zantetsuken (Dissidia FF).
The small brownish sword: Muramasa
The thin grey-bluish sword: Masamune
(ff10 and ff6 respectively)
This has to be my favorite battle in the Colosseum. Gilgamesh is just so awesome, his battle theme is awesome, and I like that his Divider is sorta like his EX burst in Dissidia 012. :D

I love Gilgamesh no matter in what game he is in... but I think his design in ff12 was perfect. one of their best design in general I would even say. In this he looks like a power ranger.

well there are a couple of ways. The one in this video abuses imperil + instant enfrost from cloudburst's feral link. it improves the damage a lot. (well and deprotect and having Lightning with bravery too).
Me first time fighting Gilgamesh in ff13-2
Me: "Oh wow, so easy he does sh*t damage lol easy"
(brings out swords)
Me: "OK, now were talking"
(Bring Gilgamesh to half health after just one Stagger, turns super saiyan )
Me: "WTF!!!!!!"
(GET REKT BY GILGAMESH)

I do like that Noel and Sarah are just standing there confused as Gilgamesh is breaking the fourth wall and talking about the fact that he's DLC.
This fight took me a solid hour to defeat without the best gear available, and oh boy it was the most epic hour of epic battle with my arch rival >:D

Her last passive ability she learns is "Uncapped Damage", essentially "Break Damage Limit". With the right skills to further increase her strength, putting Bravery on her, (if her own Autoo-Bravery has worn off), she can easily do MASSIVE damage.

Generally yes, since a staggered enemy takes more damage than normal. Commandos boost the damage you do, so three Commandos (the Cerberus paradigm) is great for dealing lots of damage really fast.

Mind I ask what the attack power and Magic Power of your Noel and Serah are? as well as your three Monsters?
I fought Gilgamesh and when I staggered him and deprotect, deshelled, and Imperiled him It didn't do much damage at all or keep him staggered very long.
I knew it would be a rearranged version of Battle on the Big Bridge that would probably sound like this!

I knew it! Many players use Chichu as a commando but i use Lightning as a commando too it was good to watch this fight but i still need that ravager for Enfrost but can you use Ultros too?
