As a former dancer, I salute you. 75 years ago when I started, seeing boys dancing was not well accepted. I am shocked to hear that even in today´s world there is a stigma to colour or anything else. Dance is a form of art and this young lady is top-drawer material in the dance world in this old man´s opinion. Keep on keeping on expressing yourself young lady, this old Canuck loves what you represent.

Yeah, it's a shame that these prejudice mindsets still exist today and will be around for many more years to come but people continuously go out of their way to say racism doesn't exist anymore but if you are black and living in America the racist System has been fully down loaded into your DNA from all of the pain and bloodshed our ancestors has left from the soil to the roots from the branches to the leaves our pain is alive and active with the determined aggression to seek the true freedom of our people and equality in the Judicial System and maybe then we will begin to truly love our brothers and sisters with the same love we have for ourselves...

In my town where I live an Irish traveller had died and was having his funeral at our local church. The music played was Reggae. There was no animosity shown amongst the black onlookers. Instead, me included, walked up to the relatives and gave our condolences. We loved hearing the music and was told he absolutely loved Reggae music. The music was played for 3 days. It was appreciated that he loved music from our culture.

We have black people in Ireland, they are Irish to boot. She’s amazing. Being Irish is not a racially defined, just like America. Immigrants change the status quo.
Also not all tango dancers are Latinos, or rappers black. She has every right in the world to participate in Irish dancing, especially because she is making it relevant to young people. Good on her.

You’ve got serious racism in Ireland too!
There is no legislation on racism so it’s literally not prohibited to racially abuse or attack people of colour there!
The racist abuse the Black athlete got last week after winning gold and two silvers in Europe,on top of the Irish u15s who got dogs abuse due to the colour of their skin, then the riots last year, Ireland is racist to the core!

Dance is a living art, it feeds from music and other form of corporal expressions or dances, else it would die from repeating itself endlessly. It needs vibrancy, curiosity and this ability to add new moves, new styles, mix them, to stay alive, like it has since the beginning of life.

@@Spearca It's certainly hyperbole to call it the extreme opposite of appropriation. But it depends on how you look at it. I don't believe there is such a thing as cultural appropriation because cultures are dynamic and interact all the time whether you like it or not. If a young white man wearing dreds is appropriation, if some college kids wearing sombreros is appropriation, if Elvis playing rock n roll is appropriation then this is also appropriation. remember she is white.
and now we have black dancing a white culture and everyone are applauding.
i mean, inst this also a cultural appropriation for black people missing with white peoples culture? or is it the black are exempted for any any violation like cultural appropriation? meaning we should have a double standard for this cultural appropriation thing?
or is it the cultural appropriation isnt a thing no more these days?
      what is really the truth?
