大阪府堺市の住宅街に、時が止まったように、ひっそりと佇む工房があります。
江戸時代から続く鋏鍛冶（はさみかじ）「佐助」。
当代の平川康弘さんは５代目で、国から“現代の名工”として認められています。
全ての工程を手作業で行う、伝統的な鋏づくりにかけた、職人夫婦の日々を追いました。
In a residential neighborhood in Sakai City, Osaka, a workshop stands quietly, as if stopped in time.
Sasuke has been crafting scissors since the Edo period.
Yasuhiro Hirakawa, fifth generation master of Sasuke, is certified by the Japanese government as a "Contemporary Master Craftsman."
True to tradition, every process is done by hand. We document the master blacksmith and his wife and their lives devoted to Japanese scissor crafting.

鍛冶屋さんは今の代で終わるところがかなり多いそうですね。この素晴らしい技術が途絶えず、どうか継承されていってほしいです・・・。
