Seeing the caboose on those RSLUG Units is very rare nowadays. Finding a caboose on a moving train is gem gold. Congratulations Jaw Tooth! you found a caboose!
Isn't the caboose mostly used when they do a lot of backing up of the train set? Sometimes they are used when a customer wants to accompany an importand shipment.
A caboose - and on a local/feeder train. Very cool! You're not kidding - that was the most gondolas I have seen in some time - like years. There were 4 engines in the lashup so that train could be miles long!
❤Nice catch on the “Boose” Like the shots by the Bike trail/ car tunnel, stream, as well as my fav,by the old paper Mill, ❤ to see that building re-purposed .Wouldn’t know anything about these places if it wasn’t for you JT! GREAT DAY OF FILMING!!
I agree with you. Nowadays you see a caboose at the end of freight trains just at the state borders for long hauls. Other places they use a caboose once in a blue moon not too often. The deliveries they make are local runs.
@@DTD110865 They were on every through train until august of 85 and we had road switchers with regular cabooses…..caboose agreement was negotiated away by the UTU often nicknamed “ u took us”….. each receiving yard had a caboose service facility…..big job loss as a result of “ reagonomics “….
You know Jaw Tooth your videos are just about the only train videos I watch now including the live cams. I still like that grey building by the tracks - I still think if the walls were cleared out it would make a great independent book/record store and cafe. There could be a coffee bar and outdoor seats in the back to view trains. Cool trains today - I like the shorts. Chessie is so adorable, is she friendly if visitors want to pet her or toss a play toy. That face! Thanks, Jaw Tooth for our daily fix. I still say you ought to consider selling JT merchandise! T-Shirts, hoodies, hats, etc. I’d buy them. 😊
Yep that was really a looong train. I like it when they fly down the tracks like the second train. I put my coffee down to watch it. Man that was cool.😃😃😃
My Late Dad, when he wasn't acting as a Fireman on the D.T.& I. Steam engines....would be riding back in the Caboose. Used to say he'd shovel coal from Flat Rock to Ironton and back....Hated the ex-Pennsy locos....LOVED the 700 and 800 STOKER fired engines...
Just because of the train with the caboose the watching of this video was worthwhile. The CSX container train had also been great. The containers from Hamburg-Süd will soon fall into a paint pot. Hamburg Süd was acquired by Maersk last week. Very nice that you also took the train only with the gondolas. A train with only one type of car used to be called a block train ( the german word is Ganzzug) in Germany. Greetings from Berlin/ Germany Sven
Jawtooth I love your train videos. I make sure to watch the long form videos and the shorts bc I like your content and I want to support your channel. You are doing a great job! Carry on!
That is a really weird culvert. They have what looks like storm sewers for the river to go in but the bridge behind it should have originally taken the water underneath so I don't know why they did that
JT, I noticed the echo of your voice as you pass through the passage under the railroad tracks. It helps to signal your presence to an oncoming vehicle because the passage is really narrow.
A local moves on the main to the next task. The next Freight is bashful and back stuff. Then we double up on the double stacks. An ad popped up on the gondola run by but it has a good chance of being 156 cars which is the most for that unit train. Good train sightings for a good weather day which makes one Wonder where did all the bicycles go?
I've seen a few gondola trains where I live. They were hauling gravel. They were on a line stretching through Williamsport PA. The line was owned by the Pennsylvania Railroad and Conrail, and is now ran by NS. This is a secondary line mainly for coal trains to and from our local power plant and the local shortline railroads, the Lycoming Valley Railroad and North Shore Railroad.
Just read that containers ideally are shipped full each way, but that's not always possible. The cost of returning an empty container overseas may exceed that of buying a new one, so some containers are repurposed or scrapped for steel upon emptying.

@@JawTooth Thanks for the trains at Hamilton, Ohio 🌎🌈🗽🪕btw, happy new year from Hamilton, New Zealand 🇳🇿 the wettest Southern hemisphere summer ever recorded ! Keep us all entertained indoors with some train videos 📹 👍 thanks again J.T 🐈⬛🐓🐕🐴👨👩👧👦💚🌈
That location near the old power plant in Hamilton, Ohio is a good place to watch trains. It is nice to see that the local has a transfer caboose to use as a shoving platform when the train is backing up. The CSX train using the crossover from track #1 to track #2 to go south on the Norfolk Southern to Cincinnati, Ohio was interesting to watch. The speed of this train was slow going through the crossover. The reason for the slow speed was probably because the train had to navigate a curve to continue to Cincinnati. Ohio. I wonder if the train would have been going faster if it was going continue west on track #1. this train needed that mid-train DPU because of its length.
Great good made video, mr Jaw Tooth. All the railroadcompanys using cabooses? Awesome, this is what in Europa not in use. Yes in the time of steam maybe but a caboose no never seen and i am 64 now. Really like that old stone arch bridge, any idea why it was build ?👍 At least 100 years ago.. Whoa.. fast moving gondola train !! Yes I do like the shorts you make !! 👍 Another awesomely cool video !! 👍👍👍

Love the stone bridge in the beginning. Nice scenery
That stone bridge is cool with those arches. That's an interesting spot. Then you had a local with a caboose come by. Great catches. Excellent video!
Reminds me of the 80s when all trains had a caboose
That would have been awesome to see! I love seeing them on the rare occasion we have.
I still miss 'em though the occasional EOT DPU helps.
I don't think they were that common back then either.

Merci beaucoup pour cette très belle vidéo et très bonne semaine ! 🌟🌟👍🙏
Something cool about a train that's got all the same cars.👍
if only it had been boxcars…
Seeing a caboose on a local/feeder train and a very long gondola train was quite a treat JT. Great job.👍🏼
LOVE the caboose!!!!! The arches on that bridge are amazing! Another great video; thanks for sharing!
Good morning JT - Nice video;another great location, cool looking bridge;also liked the Gibson beanie hat as well. Thanks !

Thank you very much!
Counted 156 gondolas on that last train... WOW! thats a lot of gons....
I'm amazed that huge stack train only had two power units, a single lead and that single DPU. Thanks for the vid sir.
Thanks that was great. Chris from England.
Yep that was really a looong train. I like it when they fly down the tracks like the second train. I put my coffee down to watch it. Man that was cool.😃😃😃
Nice one... That old viaduct looks like it's carrying more weight than the builders planned...!

Good Morning JT. Maybe that was a gondola funeral train.
JT, you should record a 'But Wait, there's more!' in that tunnel with the echo.
🐈⬛🐕its sieesta time.😂thanks for the video Brian.greetings to the familie..greetz:🍐Peer.
🖐. Hello Peerke! I went to Glendale today and ran into Scott
When you said a ''Caboose wow '' did that girl that just walked by you say , thanks 🤣😅😂 Good one Son ...
Great view. It would make an impressive scene on a model railroad. I'll watch this video several times. 😊👍👍👍!
The sun sifting through the gondolas reflects off the tomb stones creating a strobe effect.
That gondola train was long son and I like the cemetery next to the track so much for eternal peace and rest another great video.
I remember seeing a girl on bicycle zip through that tunnel in one of your videos.
Neat seeing a caboose again.
Great video as always, thanks!
Thanks 👍

Those arches under that bridge at 1:18, look like they may have had rail traffic at one time.
That is a really weird culvert. They have what looks like storm sewers for the river to go in but the bridge behind it should have originally taken the water underneath so I don't know why they did that
Another great train video....Thanks
Wish you could see into Queensgate yard and watch all the action! Love the caboose!!
Rail fanning video awesomeness at its finest... you set the the standard for all the others... I counted 156 gondolas!!
JT, I noticed the echo of your voice as you pass through the passage under the railroad tracks. It helps to signal your presence to an oncoming vehicle because the passage is really narrow.
Nobody in a car is going to hear the sound of his voice through their closed windows and over the sound of their engine.
Very good video, have a nice day!
Thank you! You too!
Fantastic! Thanks so much Brian for sharing!
That was a great location at the beginning. We don't get many double stacked around here. Fun to see it
Next time you go to Marion, OH...head east of town on Rt.309.....There is a HUGE intermodal yard out there...a LOT of them Orange containers...

It's pretty rare for container shipping rates to be so high that the cost of shipping an empty box is higher than the cost of buying a new one.
I love those ALOHA shirts, they match the ones i got! Fantastic video
Another excellent video JT!!!
Man gondola’s are like the red headed children of train cars. They’re all beat up and abused. Kind of like me. Lol!
Nice catch sir! 🥴👍🏻
