what made me fall in love with rose as a character was just one line she said to the doctor it was .. rose - it's like, think about it, though- Christmas 1860. Happens once, just once, and it's gone, it's finished. It'll never happen again. Except for you. You can go back and see days that are dead and gone, a hundred thousand sunsets ago. No wonder you never stay still. that almost instantly made me fall in love with her character because she got it, she understood part of why the doctor travels through time and she understood him so well with out even really trying to.
I feel the same way. She got it. She wasn't just in awe of The Doctor like Martha, she made a deliberate attempt to understand him. I feel like that moment after she absorbed the time vortex and looked at The Doctor and said she could could feel all of time and space in her head and it hurt *that* was the moment The Doctor truly fell for her. Because she got it. She understood. No one else had ever understood before that. I like to think that's why his next regeneration was someone even more compatible with Rose. A young handsome Doctor.

I completely agree, not that I hate the other companions, but they had him a pedestal or perfection, or judged his justice, or criticized him always always running. Rose just understood that he needs help, she saved him their first adventure. She knew he would do what he thought was right even if it was morally questionable, Cassandra on like their second trip. And she new why he’s always running and accepted he wasn’t one to stay and fight his demons, he had so many better things he could be doing instead. I’m sorry for rambling, but I just don’t think she gets enough credit, she’s always the one that was slow or dumb and to infatuated with The Doctor to actually do anything. Again as you can tell I love Rose and sorry for rambling.
Rose was just so fantastically ordinary and yet she put such a big smile on the doctor's face. We can all be fantastic because we all have potential and we are all important just remember that the next time you feel worthless. You. Are. Important.

As a Fixed Point from the beginning of her life to its end her every minute is something the Doctor can't refuse without breaking time. So what? Moffat joined Doctor Who so he could pseudo rape the Doctor for 10 years? And Rose was the only Companion I EVER saw whose relationship to the Doctor and the Love seemed to grow on its own. Not contrived.
Yea they kind of shoved river down our throats and told us we were supposed to love her and the doctor together I hadn't even had time to grieve rose and never once did they developed river and the doctor story river just fell in love immediately the wedding was thrown together as an after thought and river only knows the doctors name cause she forced him to tell her
Honestly The Doctor has never loved anyone else quite like he loved Rose Tyler. Not even River. It's never been quite as intense and it's just.. Fuck man, I miss her a lot.
Love both of them but Imma disagree with you here. He loved both of them in different ways. I would argue River's storyline is more intense because of the mystery and bc he always knew she had to die in the end, so he felt that sadness throughout their entire relationship. Whereas with Rose it was intense because they were split up and he didn't know if he would see her again.

But what's special about Rose is that she saved him from himself, she made him into a better person. whereas River just kinda appeared into his life and didn't really do anything significant. Rose did make him into a better person, but tbh 10 was childish with her (sometimes in a fun way, but sometimes in a whiny, angsty teenager kind of way that I didn't feel was true to who the Dr was). River & the Doctor were constantly sacrificing things for the other; she saved the Doctor's life a ton of times; overall they just felt like they had a more mature and balanced dynamic. River could be an equal to him, whereas Rose couldn't.

I think the reason why I Like rose so much is because, she never pushed herself into the doctors and never she never really said that he trusts me and said I am his best friend. She saved him from the time war and loved him. But like I said she never really pushed that love onto him. The first season, it was amazing!! Chris and Billie were fantastic!!! The best moment, in my opinion, was when she looks into the heart of TARDIS, became basically time itself, and went to save the Doctor and Jack, and the entire world really. She really did end the time war.
Same, I haven't watched the show after David Tennant left. For me that's where it really ended (or should've in my opinion). I could not stop crying when he said his final goodbye to Rose, knowing that would be the last time he EVER saw her. Still makes me tear up.
I feel that. I kept watching but I never connected with the Moffat era the same way I did the RTD era. I think because Moffat wrote the show as a complex fantastical fairytale, whereas RTD's era was very grounded and character-driven. I personally always preferred RTD's style. RTD's companions were so beautifully human and ordinary and flawed. They wore normal clothes, had real family dynamics and messy relationships and very real fears and real world problems to contend with. The science fiction side was always secondary to the journeys of the characters. In Moffat's era, none of the companions have very believable or well-developed "ordinary" lives that feel grounded in reality. They all dress immaculately, have to have some mythical fairytale importance, and their lives completely revolve around the Doctor and their adventures. Side characters like family and friends or Earth settings are just window-dressing and have really no depth or greater meaning in the story. And I wasn't really very impressed with the female character writing either. The vast majority of his female characters could be summarised as sexy, mysterious and fiesty. That being said, I have enjoyed the Chibnall era a lot more in spite of the criticisms out there. So maybe give it a try. It has its flaws, but it feels more grounded. Graham and Dan are especially great. And 13 has snuck up as one of my favourite Doctors.
Awww, this is so perfect!!! (not surprising, really, since it's from you) Love Rose, she's my favorite female companion! And not only because of the sad and beautiful love story, but she's such a wonderful person. So kind, so brave, so loyal and selfless. Decent, you know. Modest? She never claimed to be the most important person in the Doctor's life, his best friend, the one he trusted the most or who knew him better than anyone else (unlike others, who we won't point at)... And still she was the one the Doctor chose to spend the rest of his life with. Speaks volumes. BTW, Rory has all of these qualities. I sometimes think of him as a male version of Rose :) don't you agree they are quite similar?
I just finished rewatching s2 of new!who and I haven't cried so much in a long time. Rose was always the greatest companion, her relationship with the Doctor was just GOOD and pure and kind, and they owned my heart.
I just love Rose so so much! She was so perfect for the Doctor! It still breaks my heart thinking about them! And there couldnt have been a better tribute for her! Just bful! I hope Billie gets to see this someway! You deserve all the love and praise!

Love her dearly, I believe she'll always be my favourite companion, in just 2 seasons I fell so in love with her, her and the Doctor, and as I hadn't watched (and didn't know much about) Doctor Who before I started it, that was all I knew. I am a fairly new viewer but the first video I watched within the first minute I subscribed to you channel while sobbing over the lonely god video. This video is no exception seeing Rose again brought back so many memories of her and the doctor and how sad I was when they were separated. This video has to be one of (if not the best) tributes to Rose Tyler I have ever seen and shows her as she evolved into the strong and loving girl she became and how she made the doctor a happier and less lonely creature. Adding another comment because I’ve watched this video so many times since I’ve found it. This is such a beautiful edit, the music, the clips, everything is so well done. I don’t see a lot of great rose edits, but this one is by far my favorite. No companion will ever top her for me. She’s so very, very human; flawed, compassionate, selfish, brave, and the very best of what humans ever offered to the doctor. She was always the doctor’s one true love I think, and I love seeing a video that really tributes her ❤️
“Some things.. are worth getting your heart broken for.” That line from Sarah Jane to Rose is so powerful. To me,it means that Sarah Jane was Rose and her heart was broken but it was worth it. You can only truly love the doctor with a broken heart. The doctor can’t love, so you do it for him.

I like how it started out as a friendship and slowly escalated into both loving each other and when they finally split apart it was so bitter sweet but beautiful cause now she can live with a piece of him forever

'I'm still just an image' - twice. some things are worth getting your heart broken for - and that was the only way it was ever going to end. but they practiced such plain JOY. i felt all those things but. it was also just put together very well. what perfect music choice

This video is fantastic! I remember back in the day, I didn't like that much Rose, but now, I miss her so much. None of the companions of season 11th compared to the ones before (Donna, Rose, Amy & Rory, Martha, Clara). I feel like in the past companions could be independent. The new ones without the doctor would immediately die. I hope season 12th is going to be better.

Oh wow that just gave me chills. The same exact words said in completely different ways and in totally different context. Shows the two characters personalities. When Rose meets a stranger, she's very bubbly, caring (Maybe it's time you went home) and smiley. Donna on the other hand is very dismissive to a stranger. Rose said "See ya" in a way you would to a friend or someone you WILL actually see later. Dona said it as if she just wanted him gone. That's amazing that I never caught that.

Let's just say that your video is all of this words together and even more! the music, the scenes you've chosen...perfect! I love Rose and will always love her no matter what others tell me she was amazing, hilarious and clever. She changed the Doctor by letting him understand that he shouldn't wast his so precious life. My heart broke watching Doomsday because their bond was about to be definitely broken (but then, we all know what happened) and seeing the desperate expressions on their faces...it was horrible....... The first season, it was amazing!! Chris and Billie were fantastic!!! The best moment, in my opinion, was when she looks into the heart of TARDIS, became basically time itself, and went to save the Doctor and Jack, and the entire world really. She really did end the time war.

Same, I haven't watched the show after David Tennant left. For me that's where it really ended (or should've in my opinion). I could not stop crying when he said his final goodbye to Rose, knowing that would be the last time he EVER saw her. Still makes me tear up.

I feel that. I kept watching but I never connected with the Moffat era the same way I did the RTD era. I think because Moffat wrote the show as a complex fantastical fairytale, whereas RTD's era was very grounded and character-driven. I personally always preferred RTD's style. RTD's companions were so beautifully human and ordinary and flawed. They wore normal clothes, had real family dynamics and messy relationships and very real fears and real world problems to contend with. The science fiction side was always secondary to the journeys of the characters. In Moffat's era, none of the companions have very believable or well-developed "ordinary" lives that feel grounded in reality. They all dress immaculately, have to have some mythical fairytale importance, and their lives completely revolve around the Doctor and their adventures. Side characters like family and friends or Earth settings are just window-dressing and have really no depth or greater meaning in the story. And I wasn't really very impressed with the female character writing either. The vast majority of his female characters could be summarised as sexy, mysterious and fiesty.
That being said, I have enjoyed the Chibnall era a lot more in spite of the criticisms out there. So maybe give it a try. It has its flaws, but it feels more grounded. Graham and Dan are especially great. And 13 has snuck up as one of my favourite Doctors.
There's no companion quite like Rose Tyler. And no Doctor Who relationship quite like this one.

Love Rose, she's my favorite female companion! And not only because of the sad and beautiful love story, but she's such a wonderful person. So kind, so brave, so loyal and selfless. Decent, you know. Modest? She never claimed to be the most important person in the Doctor's life, his best friend, the one he trusted the most or who knew him better than anyone else (unlike others, who we won't point at)... And still she was the one the Doctor chose to spend the rest of his life with. Speaks volumes.
BTW, Rory has all of these qualities. I sometimes think of him as a male version of Rose :) don't you agree they are quite similar?

I just finished rewatching s2 of new!who and I haven't cried so much in a long time. Rose was always the greatest companion, her relationship with the Doctor was just GOOD and pure and kind, and they owned my heart.
Favorite Companion and favorite doctors (9 and 10) forever. I will never be over them, never.

“Some things.. are worth getting your heart broken for.” That line from Sarah Jane to Rose is so powerful. To me,it means that Sarah Jane was Rose and her heart was broken but it was worth it. You can only truly love the doctor with a broken heart. The doctor can’t love, so you do it for him.

Brilliant video! I loved Rose a lot and she was my first companion. I knew she'd be awesome ever since that moment in End of the World when the Doctor said every one from his planet was gone and she says to that she was there with him. Aaaah this reminds me of the good ol days....
I like how it started out as a friendship and slowly escalated into both loving each other and when they finally split apart it was so bitter sweet but beautiful cause now she can live with a piece of him forever

well i appreciate how you recaptured how just - good, it was. but also highlighted parallels and greater narrative i hadn't even picked up on. 'Rose, i can dance!' and he danced again... 'I'm still just an image' - twice. some things are worth getting your heart broken for - and that was the only way it was ever going to end. but they practiced such plain JOY.
i felt all those things but. it was also just put together very well.

I remember back in the day, I didn't like that much Rose, but now, I miss her so much.
None of the companions of season 11th compared to the ones before (Donna, Rose, Amy & Rory, Martha, Clara). I feel like in the past companions could be independent. The new ones without the doctor would immediately die. I hope season 12th is going to be better.

Oh wow that just gave me chills. The same exact words said in completely different ways and in totally different context. Shows the two characters personalities. When Rose meets a stranger, she's very bubbly, caring (Maybe it's time you went home) and smiley. Donna on the other hand is very dismissive to a stranger. Rose said "See ya" in a way you would to a friend or someone you WILL actually see later. Dona said it as if she just wanted him gone. That's amazing that I never caught that.

She changed the Doctor by letting him understand that he shouldn't wast his so precious life. Rose is so precious and fantastic, she looked into the Vortex to save her Doctor, risking her own life by doing so.
She love(d) him and he love(d) her, and there're no arguments for that. My heart broke watching Doomsday because their bond was about to be definitely broken (but then, we all know what happened) and seeing the desperate expressions on their faces...it was horrible.......
