The song, "On the Banks of the Wabash, Far Away," words and music by Paul Dresser, was adopted as the Indiana state song by the Sixty-eighth Regular Session of the Indiana General Assembly on March 14, 1913.
Us Hoosiers may disagree all the time along (especially) political lines, but all we love our unique state song. Even if most of us don't remember the entire courses we all remember the refrain: 'Oh the moonlights fair tonight along the Wabash, from the fields there comes a breath of new mowed hey. Thru the sycamores the candlelight's are gleaming, on the banks of the Wabash-------, far away'. We all learned, as little kids in music class, that the 'Wabash' is carried out several beats. I think that was just to annoy Ohio.
You need to add "Hell Along The Wabash", the theme of the Iron Brigade of the Grand Army of The Republic.
Why does it describe my literal house at the start of the song, pure Hoosier moment
