This is my first RC crawler that gave me a taste of RC blood. The Remo Hobby 1093-ST. Crawled pretty well with the low profile body, before it got the brushless treatment. Now it just rips; in sand, dirt, grass...
I recommend getting a RTR first to figure out if this is your hobby. It's hard to get $300-400 together for the big brands.
As a clone, it's a decent choice for a budget crawler. Plenty of parts support and options.
If you have the funds and looking for performance, I recommend the TRX4 Sport. Best performance out of the box.
For kits, I recommend the TRX4 Sport kit(best and affordable) or the Gmade Komodo GS02 doublecab(less parts support but unique). Great builds and awesome vehicles.
Wow thank you for sharing your mods. Just bought the exact same model and it's awesome.
Great choice for a crawler without breaking the bank. Best no cost mods are trimming the extra plastic off the top of the front diff for suspension clearance, and bending the steering linkage bar for steering improvement. Don't need to file it like I did. Thanks for watching, have a blast with yours!
Wow.. nice upgrade..
I put my Remo hobby on a Gspeed LCG comp chassis, thing does awesome!
Thanks for watching, that sounds awesome! I hear and see great things about lcg crawlers.
Hi, so I live in Indonesia. Getting parts and such is a pain. In stock form did you enjoy the truck? Did you have any issues with the electronics? I am looking at a crawler as I have faster stuff. Since this is an older truck and now they have the "Jeep" style one I can get it here for about $175. The Jeep is $300 plus. Any quality issues that would be a no go. All my stuff is off brand, some ok, some not so good. Thx
Thanks for watching! No quality issues with the stock form, just limited performance when it comes to crawling(not terrible tho). I still believe it's a great value for the
@@motorheadaddictions2761 Thx for the reply...well I am already in too deep, 3 months later I have 4 cars. I have WLtoys 10428 with the 2 speed mechanical gear box. Played with it yesterday and I guess I like the bit more speed driving, so crawler is out for now since I kind of have one. I am going for Arrma Big Rock, I want to see what brand name quality is (ex mechanical engineer). I like quality well engineered stuff. Pain in the ass to get here in Indonesia, the local shops sell for 3x American price. I will have my friend ship one with bunch of spare parts. Sometimes it is just stupid money, they are printing and giving it away now so soon that dollar will not be worth very much....different conversation. Thx for original vid, too many "big" rc channels sound more like an add then "review". Here already 2021, same as 2020........later
@@pawelwolski1316 Happy 2021! Thanks for the support. I'm getting better with the videos and will always be honest as since I'm draining my wallet with these RCs😝 Can't help it. Let me know if there's any content you'd like to see and I'll do my best to capture. The 2 speed is cool, I read up about the diff lock mod for the front too, a setup more for crawling tho. Does suck that things cost so much over there considering everything is made in China these days.
I have a stock 1 was wanting to install lights do u know where to plug them in at.
For the stock ESC, since it's a 2in1, you'd plug lights into channel 2. Here's links to a great set of basic lights and a great light system🤙 thanks for watching!
