Won without playing B4 and only had his B pawn left. The fact that B4 is the most powerful move in chess that's like fighting with one hand tied behind your back.

India will compete with Uzbekistan for the gold in at least the next 5 Olympiads. Their players are young and many more are upcoming. Nihal isn't even in the team right now but he can play top board for 70% of the teams that played.
The US team is on the downside now with their aging recruits. There are no junior players on the level of these Indian youngsters so they might soon be recruiting again.
How Leinier was invited to top tournaments over arjun this past year still baffles me!
He had a good run last year.
Leinier is old now but he was a beast from 2002 to 2014. Let's not forget he's a world champion in blitz (2008). Second place was ivanchuk, tleinier was a top player and still playes well, not a top 10 player now but still very deserving to play big tournaments
It cannot be overstated that the World Chess Champion is outside the top 20 in Fide elo rating

"Everyone is a Gukesh* - Agadmator
Would have liked to see my fellow Americans do better, but it is hard not to be excited about the state of chess as someone who is new to the game. India has dedicated and talented young grandmasters moving the game forward. A great spot for chess to be.
double feature. I love it
We will be seeing many draws during the World Chess Championship which means Gukesh might not reach 2800 until the end of this year.
we will fall suddenly if we will not able to produce more arjuns and prag and gukesh like players and similar in women section.
hope indian govt and chess community will set up a committee to regularly monitor such players which can won india some more medals.

Everyone is a Gukesh? We can all dream 😀
Did I just see the evaluation bar 😳🎉🎉
I'm sure Agadmator is familiar with the song "Chess" by Murray Head. "One night in Bangkok."
One of my all time favorites!
USA does not even deserve a medal imo. 3 out 4 players moved to US federation when they were already GMs. That is crazy.
Not three, four. Caruana played for Italy, So for Philippines, Dominguez for Cuba and Aronian for Armenia in Chess Olympiad before they changed federation to USA.
Wow! Prag was honored with the premiere game: Wesley played b4 and then showing what it means to be a master of the vol curve, showed Prag some Kh2 too.
Still, some disappointments for me. White losing the white bishop so early to an exhange. That is why i always like to follow 3.Bc4 with 4.c3 as this way the bishop can neuver. White had no choice even after ..d6. Had to xchange bishops.
And yes whites b4 is schtrong as it always is but you always leave something behind.
Later on i was angry with Praag with bunching up his knights on Whites kingside but saddly, still on his half of the board unable to cross the frontlines.
Whites b4 is nice but praag should have gone for the queenside attack, southpaw hooking it to an aready active white king but onky active in defending himself.
On the main feature. Yes, it is anti-positional and the engines are full of shit.
Consider: The hope is that the game, with perfect play is a draw.
So engine designers are playing that card.
They know it's impossible to solve it (most of them believe so, I am bound by a fidetiality greement, as to whether it has been solved in its current form, and what the result is)
so the engine designers, unable to brut force it, what are we up to? Not even tablespaces-7 yet, right?,
So they like draws.
Imbalances is what gives you wins. But then as the board empties in the Kate (when Harry met Sally he 4got about Kate and being latte) midgame and endgame the likelihood that you can fight for a draw through 3bold repetition increases, as it is easy on the other extreme, in the opening when the board is full of pieces, not many places to go, can find repetition easily.
So engine designers, to prove their worth, strive to achieve drawing positions as a base of operations. They use Artifecial Neural Feces as well (another grave disapointment on how to apply the idea of AI on something)
And that is why "any move is a good move" coz the board will later grow sparce, more chance to find ways to draw it, and at the same time less chance to find "the only move that wins".
So engines are full of shit. d5 is crap. Well unless you play connect 4 and play f3 right after?
Remember: Gary lost because the engine learned from him, not because it found something on its own.
And to prove that only truth lives in this comment, I solved the puzzle, within 10 seconds, because i am the best player that ever lived. After Agad explains to me what's what. Lol. Thank you Agad.
PS. Lender messed up with "Nf3 defending". He should have went "Ne4 attacking"
I dont get these players. India set itself up against the wall. Brought it's best players.
The mightier would have been me victory and it's fall. I would have had India for breakfast. But I am good. And so is Lenier.
You want it? Have it.
Somewhere over the rainbow, tomorrow is another day?
A request. Can you make a recap of the best games of the 2024 Olympiad. They kept showing India 's games in the live coverage. And it felt like I missed other good games, teams like Serbia, Slovenia and others who played well. I am a chess fan, not just an indian chess fan.

Lessgo chess from India came back to India
Where's the dog? He didn't show up this video.
India will be unbeatable for maybe decades to come! Maybe China and the US can rival it, but China has a lot of problems currently and not too much of a chess culture apart from the one sponsored by the government (at least this what I guess) while the US simply doesn't have the population numbers to rival India!
if you go by that than usa is pretty weak as fabiano is italian, levon armenian , dominguez is spanish so there federation just bought strong players from other countries and that is their speciality so you can not say anything about us for sure
they might bought nodirbek in the future
People like you use the stats of population as per their convenience just to discredit. The right measure to compare is that section of population of countries which has the means to support their children if they want to take up sports as career and India would lie much below all the developed countries and a lot of developing countries in that metric. Go through the stories of what all the parents of Pragg, Gukesh, Arjun etc had to go through to support their journeys.

The old board looked much better !
Domínguez is Cuban though! There are PLENTY Americans of Cuban heritage but he's not one of them!
He plays for the US. He's an American.
@SpazzMatticusTheGreat Oh yeah? Is Levon Aronian American too? Newsflash, just because they play for us doesn't make them American. Hikaru is American, Fabi is American, Domínguez, So and Aronian are not! Alireza doesn't speak a lick of French yet he plays for France, he's obviously an Iranian playing for France. Domínguez is a Cuban playing for USA.
