Great episode again, guys. Thanks! Two tips and one remark. 1. To reduce weight on the SL-system, also look at the Lumix and Sigma lenses. The 1.8 Lumix S primes are close to as good as the Summicron SL lenses and even lighter (and a fourth to a fifth of the price). 2. The on/off switch of the SL2/S is awkwardly placed and requires you to use both hands. I set the energy saving auto switch off to 10s and switch it on with the shutter release button. Saves a lot of battery life as well. My remark: I noticed some people having lock-up issues with their M11 while using flash triggers. Esp. the non-Leica specific flash triggers can create a lot of issues incl. complete malfunctioning of the camera. Since we’ve started to use the new Leica Profoto trigger, we haven’t expericenced any lock-ups. previously with the universal Profoto Connect we’ve had some lock-ups of a loaner M11.
I particularly like this explanation much more than the other detailed one , slow enough to follow

Now that Panasonic has actually good phase detection auto focus the SL3 will also be a big upgrade in that regard.

Thanks again team for this episode, very informative. And a very interesting remaks during the episode that the 24mm 3.8 was acutely developed for a cropped (M8) sensor.

Nice video mate. Been using this since the early days and it can be great especially for the halatian and bloom, like you mentioned. Can be a bit much at times and agree it needs a way to tone just the film stock section down as it won’t suit everything. I also use film convert nitrate which I find subtler in those scenarios although not as extensive with film profiles. I’ve also been using the LR version of Dehancer for photos which is clunky but is really convincing when I put it next to my film photos.
Josh - I think it was you that mentioned you use polarizing filters for much of your shooting. I have an M11 and would like to try a polarizing filter - what might be my simplest and hopefully most economical approach? I would use the filter on a 35 lux.

Why does Q3 not having the IBIS? Without IBIS and no input for mic, making the Q3 not suitable for video.

Hello guys, I stumbled upon the channel month ago and I have been binge watching you ever since. Even I watched some of them twice. I was just looking for more about the SL system and you guys make me fall in love /w the M system as well:)
I'm fashion photographer based in Istanbul. My workflow is strictly dependent to tethering on Capture One. And what I'm looking for how is the reliability of tethering on Capture One with SL system?
I’m using Nikon D850 and Phase One IQ4 System and I can say they’re flawless but I cannot say the same for my old Canon days. (Too many connection issues, images lost due to buffer related problems even after I shot the pictures camera cannot transfer them to computer). SL will be my first mirrorless camera system to my kit and tethering capabilities is really important for me to make a decision. Thanks!
We’re using SL2’s and SL-2S’s in our studio tethered with Capture One all the time and so far it’s been super reliable. Just make sure you have a recent version of C1 (either 15 or 16) and use a very good cable like the ones from Tether Tools. With very long cables you sometimes can loose connection, so make sure the cable isn’t overly long. Ours are 4.6m. When longer is required, use a booster kit.

How about S lenses ans S system when absolute image quality needed?
Q3 Insane battery life.......I don't think so. If you are getting the best battery life from a Q3, what are you getting on anything else?
For some reason I can feel the tension between them and it is kinda annoying.
