- Death Stranding has been a game I've been very excited to test on the iPhone 15 Pro Max! However, a big question is can the iPhone not only sustain playable fps performance, but also tolerable heat. Or, will this demanding game turn your phone into a portable heater? expecting 60fps kinda far fetch honestly, considering this is a phone without a fan running death stranding natively for 30 fps and maintaining such temperature is already crazy achievement.
It is , but apple shouldn't advertise it like it runs nice and smoothly , in my opinion they should leave it for next gen iphone or put a damn passive cooling system to make it run as it was supposed to..

@@wheely4405I think it's ok, when death stranding released I really enjoyed it playing on my ps4 at 30fps and honestly had no problem, when play FPS on 30fps surely be problematic, but 30fps is very common for console and pretty good for TPS

It does but try to watch without looking at fps. It actually isn't that bad. Could also be because I've been playing Zelda on my switch recently so my eyes are adjusted to 30 fps ahah

It gets better, you can modified configuration files for both iPhone and iPad and iPad Pro can run a steady 60 fps and iPhone 40-45 fps! I'll probably make a video sometime next week. The same with RE4

It’s funny how people are already bashing iOS for having Death Stranding on a phone with low graphics or blurry framrate like that’s some type of negative. The game is a 2019 late PS4 game that’s playable on a phone wherever you go so why is this a bad thing?
Man people are never really satisfied when it comes to console mobile gaming because then they expect the console game on mobile to be the same graphical and FPS wise as the actual console it was ported from despite those same people knowing phones are generally weaker then modern consoles or PC or having repeated lower console mobile gaming graphics. It’s whatever since I enjoyed the game but I did enjoy your video Dame tech and I look forward to your review of Assassins Creed Mirage when it also debuts on iOS later this year
It Works on iPhone flawlessly. You only think about 60 fps. Yes ps4 was also marketed as console with 4K and 60 fps gaming and what happened? This is a phone and it plays heavy game like that applaus for that. Only complaining
people very spoiled nowadays and just don't understand that at this size of the screen you don't really need 60 fps. I play cyberpunk on my original steam deck capped at 40 fps and it's wonderful so 30 fps is good especially for a phone. I'm 30 years old and I remember playing games back in a days on my old pc with 15-20 fps and I was so happy, what happen to you people whoever complaining about stuff like this?
@@OleksiiK21 yup 30 fps, low temp, it's really great for phone. I played pokemon at 30 fps and it's good, but yeah when play native PC I went minimum for 60 fps in 2k resolution. But again it's f*cking phone!!!
PS4 or PS4 Pro? PS4 Pro was never marketed as a 4K and 60fps gaming console. They did mention "4K", as in supporting 4K output for movies and some games even ran at native 4K at 60fps or checkerboarded 4K at 30fps. But they never explicitly mentioned "60fps" with 4K.
uh no. mobile standard is 40-45 fps. 60 is only neccessary if its gyro-able
@@OleksiiK21Exactly. I'm 37 at the moment. I was playing Cyberpunk with 25-35fps on my budget PC. I was happy and really enjoyed the game. Sure it could be better but it was good. Sometimes I was reading comments where people are complaining about 80fps 😂

again. condesation wouldnt happen as long as they're heated enough. if u're really worried just buy those copper/magsafe compatible case or just buy the copper heatsink

I think on iPhone this kind if performance is crazy, I mean even handheld pc gaming need an active cooling system to sustain the performance, but this thing is literally has no fan and super small…..the only thing I consider is I would not be able to enjoy this game on this small screen, at least on IPad Pro the experience will be much much better and enjoyable
Yeah iPad is definitely the best way to play on iOS devices. I think even better than Mac due to portability. The touch controls aren't as bad either. Much better than resident evil

Is the iPhone you're using your daily device, or is it a clean iPhone with no other apps installed that you use just for testing? I’m asking because when I play a game I’m having my phone overheat as hot as a furnace it feels and terrible lag throughout gameplay but my phone also has Facebook Instagram, etc. apps running in the background as well as notifications coming in. I think that affect the performance that I’m having compared to what you’re testing. But if you are using your daily device to test these games with other apps, installed and running in the background, do you turn on and off certain settings in your phone to make sure that the Phone performs the best that it can while gaming?
Yes it's my personal phone while S24 Ultra is my work phone. As for apps, I don't have too many social media apps installed on my iphone. Also I play with usually focused mode on and disabling all notifications and background activity

I am debating on getting the iPhone 15 Pro max and was also looking at the cooler that you have last week. I've always used android so I wasn't sure if that cooler just sticks to the back of the iPhone magnetically or do you need a magsafe case for it to stay in place?
If the cooler is magnetic start from iphone 13 (i think ?) Which is support magsafe, so you dont need magsafe cade if you iohone is already support magsafe

No I didn't use. I was testing to see if I needed to use but temps stayed at 37c and 39c after 1 hour. Hence, I didn't need the cooler

With fan your definitely staying at a low 32-33c. Which is insane for a game this demanding

I dont know why RE4 or Death Stranding on ipad version didn't have an Graphics option, iPad with M1 or M2 Chips are really powerful. the M1 Gpu has 2.6 teraflops.

can someone explain what the other than the fps numbers mean? Is that gpu frametime in green? if true the gpu is barely 50-60% used and could theoretically push 60 fps
edit: starting with the river scene it falls to 30 and stays there which is equivalent to 30 fps if it's indeed frame time.

13:35 This game is not demanding at all for pc. The recommended specs for pc are a gtx 1060, which is an 8 year old low end card. Death Stranding is one of the few games that almost everybody can run on their computers.

I'd say alien isolation is better optimization for performance while death stranding is prioritizing thermals. At least with alien isolation you can slap on a cooler and enjoy both! Death Stranding a cooler isn't changing much
It turned my phone into a portable heater😂 but it ran very well though with minor occasional framedrops.
Those ambient temps might force you to have to invest in a cooler. But glad to hear fps experience was enjoyable

Don't get me wrong, but that's weird. I don't know which channel to trust because i watched a gameplay earlier about the game and the iPhone 15pm struggled to maintain 30fps and also it crashes maybe because of the lack of memory, but on your phone it is running pretty well most of the time.
Why not both, minus the crashing. I've played now for a total of 2 hours and no crashing, but there are dips in fps. We just have differences in opinions. I'm okay with the dips if 90-% of the time fps Is 29-30 fps.

I think the video you are on about is the guy who had a pre release version. Could be the game had some polishing. Would be better to play on the iPad pro but I would play on both
This is a great point. Devs could have optimized the game more. Plus he is either using a capture card or Screen record which can also affect performance. Capture card I'm unsure, but Screen record it definitely affects performance.
This games run beautifully on iphone i cant wait for more games to come and what apple is going to do next

No it's free, comes with ios 17 built in. But you must activate developer mode and either sideload to enable manually or have test flight versions of game

Apple has a proprietary HDMI and USB cable that they sell where you can do this! But it may look grainy since 720p is only ideal for small screens vs TV. IPad is 1080p so it would be much better

If your playing at 30 fps then your okay as temps stay in the mid to high 30 Celsius. But if you enable 60 fps you will need a fan if you're planning on playing for longer than 30-40 minutes.
