yes people, the voice you here is the studio voice. but there is a real concert going on. you had to be there to really get to here it live. this only has the instruments really playing. toms voice is dubbed
Really wish we could hear the version of this without the vocals fixed/overdubbed because that freestyle at the end is AMAZING and unedited. wish we could hear him sound like that throughout this whole video. Like how the video of There is is like
one day i was sad that blink 182 was no more so i was flipping throught channels i was like woah wait was that Tom Delonge and then i saw him again and got goose bumps Tom Delonge is my hero and seeing this again gives me goose bumps still...Tom Delonges biggest fan ... i
I thought there was auto time going on. I head a different love version and it was clear he's been helped. Meh, so he's no Michael Hutchence, You CAN WEEKS HIS ASS OFF. Need a little and musical GENIUS. 👍😅🤗🥰😎💞💖💝💗🔥☝🏿🔥🖖🏻✌🏼
haha,I don't know why everyone's giving you negative comments, you're exactly right. I mean I love these guys to death, but if you listen to any other live performance, you will realize that not only does Tom sing way differently live, but even David's guitar sounds different. That's what studio magic will do for you.
His voice is obviously pitch-corrected in this video. I don't know why he doesn't just use one in all his concerts, I'd still respect him just as much. Anyways, I love AVA and over-dubbed or not, this video, along with all AVA songs rocks.
You're right they are different then the album versions. People don't seem to want to believe that he can actually sing good live. He does sing good live when he has to...ie on TV or for a live album recording. He's not using an "auto-tuner" tho because you can't use those live.
I know he isnt THIS good live, but fuck go watch ava live and tell me his voice sucks! cos when i went to see em, his voice was SO FUCKIN CLOSE to sounding like the album version! he was brilliant live!
In this video it's their original bassist Ryan Sinn, but now they have Matt Wachter from 30 Seconds to Mars. Not sure about the whole A7X thing but you could look up both their names I suppose
The guitar is not live either, listen at the end on the last note when the studio version guitar ends and you hear the actual live guitar. It was not a good guitar sound so they overdubbed that also. You only hear the live guitar for a spilt second but it's noticeable
Yes you said it man !!!! Where is Tom??? The AVA songs are so sad and with no fun or something.... I really miss the funny excited Tom !!! Tom where ever you are , COME BACK !!!BLINK & +44 !!!
@bijibadness The performence of I miss you is not sung by tom again in the studio. there is a slight pitch correction he is using but by all means he is singing live
And by the way, don't get me wrong, these guys are in my top three favorite bands, so I'm not doggin on them at all, and I would go see them live again in a heartbeat if they came back around. This is amazing stuff, no doubt about it.
People who don't have an ear for music may not hear what you're talking about, but for someone who has listened to the song over and over, both live and studio versions, it is very obvious that this is overdubbed. I wonder if maybe they got a different version of the vocals from the studio, because there are slight differences in the singing, just the way he transitions to certain words in the chorus like when he goes between "it rains," it just sounds slightly different for some reason.
its not delay, its overdubbed cuz every single time he goes into chorus it sounds exactly the same. And it also doesn't have the live audience sound. it has the studio sound.
i think its autotune guys. he is actually singing but auto tune is correcting his pitch and making his voice sound more clear. if u listen carefully, its not the studio version.
Maybe the vocals were taken from an early studio version, before they were mastered or something cause there are very subtle differences in some parts from the final studio album, but it's obvious that its his studio vocals. Even the guitar isn't live, watch any other live version of this song and you can hear the differences. You can clearly hear the sound of his voice change at the end when he adds the extra part. Don't get me wrong, I love these guys but there was some major work done here
i think they rerecorded the instruments live before they played this hten added toms voice from the cd and mixed it together and we ended up with this.
I reckon they just played the studio track over the performance and at the end it was the real deal because they couldn't dub that. Some people may find slight differences between the performance and the song, but they had to make it look professional. Anyway, we should ask Fuse or Tom what they really did, so nobody can assure anything :)
@RatedJohhny this isnt the live audio from the performance, its the studio vocal track synchronized to tom's performance, one might say to the movement of his lips, now open your mind real wide for this one and.... oh its lip synced... watch at 00:58 on "loooooouuuuud" he pulls the mic away from his face, the vocal track keeps going, lip synced
it is real, They use voice enhansers and everything in that studio, how do you think they recorded it? All they did was make it louder for a gig in there. The voice enhansers selects your voice harmony and changes it and shit, alot of bands use them.
[cont.] ... and i'm stoked for new blink material, and hearing his tuned and polished vocal tracks, 'cos on the AVA records (and especially 'love'), his voice sounds stretched, tuned and worn OUT. he's a great pop song writer though. he's written seriously great pop tunes for every project, like 'small things' for blink, 'there is' from BCR and 'sirens' by angels off the 'i-empire' record. ('sirens' is one of the catchiest songs tom ever wrote - seriously.), my hopes are sky high for new blink
I actually think only the drums are live. I've seen them in concert twice and watched tons of live versions of the song and David's guitar never sounds like this (check out some other live versions and you should here the difference). But the drums are definitely live and maybe the bass too.
Look, even if you're a Tombot, you just can't be serious with this. Turn on your mp3 of the song and see for yourself. Every word is exactly the way it's on the album. Besides, the whole audio track seems off from the actual performance. Or just skip to 0.59 and see how he moves the mic away without cutting off his voice (this happens a few times during the song actually). Or maybe they just used some studio magic to do that...
I can agree that this is playback, but there stil an inspiring Space rock band (not many) of them around now =D the last bit is epic ^^ there best performances are probaly at the voo doo festival and guitar centre drum off Atom sounds wicked there.
im not critisizing u m8 but i dont think its dubbed. he is actually singing it but at the same time using some kind of amazing musical technology to make him sound like his studio voice. listen to the extra bit of the song in the end then im sure you'll know what im talkin about... jus my opnion btw. :)
you can use a pitch correcter live... and he hes using one. I think this is the best band in the whole world, but I wont deny hes using an auto-tune live. and I don care :D
@satanicpunker182 yeah there is no way that this is playback, I mean if he sound awesome at 4:36 why bother playbacking just the rest of the song??? besides if it was playback we would be able to hear both his and the recorded voice during the rest of the song
This is so dubbed. You can tell because there are notes that sound longer than he actually sings them, like at 1:17, at 4:42 it looks like he makes the audience sing that 'woo' (and they don't show him a single time in the whole chorus lol) and the difference between the 'song' and what he sings at the end is very noticeable. Hey, don't get me wrong, Tom's one of my idols and AVA is my favourite band, I just hate dubbed performances.
[cont.] ... but i'm a tom delonge fan for life. i write, record, perform and am involved with music because of this guy and blink-182. i've followed his work since 1997, and it sucks to rip his skills apart i guess, but it REALLY needs to be said by somebody as big a fan as me. very seldom are fans of tom delonge willing to admit how horribly incompetent of a singer he is, especially these days. who knows, maybe he got amazing for this coming tour, but i somehow doubt it ...
I never get tired of this song :) It's amazing!
yes people, the voice you here is the studio voice. but there is a real concert going on. you had to be there to really get to here it live. this only has the instruments really playing. toms voice is dubbed
4:20 - Woah - that ending. Never heard this song end that way before. Awesome.
what version is this? I wanted to why this one is different from the original one
i've never heard any music like theirs before i love it
Nice! There's a lot of U2 influence in here - the drummer kicks ass too.
One of the best songs of all time in my view. ;)
This band. just omg.
This song is so amazing, Tom is singing exactly how I feel about my girlfriend :D I love it
I love Angels & Airwaves
Absolutely blissful !!!!👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏from blink 2 this beautiful music is awesome!!!!the ending is absolutely extraordinary beautiful!!!!!!!!!
MAGICAL! I could listen to this song forever!
amazing !!!! love it so much
man...I don't fucking care if this is playback, autotune or whatever....this sounds toooo amazing to care about those things....AVA rocks man!!
I love the last part, chills.
Really wish we could hear the version of this without the vocals fixed/overdubbed because that freestyle at the end is AMAZING and unedited. wish we could hear him sound like that throughout this whole video. Like how the video of There is is like
Who cares if they fixed Tom's voice or not? It's still a good song and that's all that fucking matters imo.
Just luv this song and performance..
I love this performance of the gift I just realised I’ve seen this before lol
I LOVE THIS SONG.. IT'S AN AMAZING NEW MUSIC...
this song makes me think about the good times i had
The added line at the end rules lol
Alexander Richards i know I wish they would’ve left it in the original track
one day i was sad that blink 182 was no more so i was flipping throught channels i was like woah wait was that Tom Delonge and then i saw him again and got goose bumps Tom Delonge is my hero and seeing this again gives me goose bumps still...Tom Delonges biggest fan ... i
Playback, Autotune...i hate it...but 4:20 's ending sounds so beautiful because that's his real voice, not perfect, but beautiful :3
I love the note change on the word disa-appear for this live version.
haha,I don't know why everyone's giving you negative comments, you're exactly right. I mean I love these guys to death, but if you listen to any other live performance, you will realize that not only does Tom sing way differently live, but even David's guitar sounds different. This song is exactly what I want to say to a girl I'm seeing at the moment. It's just so perfect!
His voice is obviously pitch-corrected in this video. I don't know why he doesn't just use one in all his concerts, I'd still respect him just as much. Anyways, I love AVA and over-dubbed or not, this video, along with all AVA songs rocks.
My favorite song

His voice singing at 4:33 is amazing! But not the crack at the end lol
Temazo de toda la vida.
The concert isn't dubbed, they just changed it on youtube. He was actually singing at the concert.
Love this song but when Atom used a 2nd higher tuned snare drum at 2:11 made it 10 times better!
The guitar is not live either, listen at the end on the last note when the studio version guitar ends and you hear the actual live guitar. It was not a good guitar sound so they overdubbed that also. You only hear the live guitar for a spilt second but it's noticeable

A great playback-performance!! I think only the drums plays live!!
:s
The best version of it.. Live in the end...TOM practice your voice again. Train train...train! I miss it ...Tony James Cook from g.r. Michigan
If you ask ill bring you Home, if you Kiss me ill stay here, if you LOVE ME ill Gooooooooooo
finally someone see's the truth. fuse doesn't dub all their performances though, check out Fall out boy at 7th ave drop.
play back hehe is a great song (Y) i love A&A
love the dancing :D
i think its autotune guys. he is actually singing but auto tune is correcting his pitch and making his voice sound more clear. if u listen carefully, its not the studio version.
Gorgeous dark haired Girl in the middle at 4:48, if you ever see this, Marry Me

it was only playback when they aired it on tv, but when i was there wasnt playback at all
@Dare2Blink do you notice how at the part at 4:36 his voice suddenly becomes deeper? that is the only part not dubbed
Tha'ts the real Atmosphere!
my favorite song :]
i think they rerecorded the instruments live before they played this hten added toms voice from the cd and mixed it together and we ended up with this.
makes me think of people i miss that i had fun with

I remember tuning into this when it first aired, and being so mad and disappointed to realize they just dubbed the album over the performance
tom isnt really lip syncing at the concert they put in the real song on the video...in the actual concert he was singing
it is real, They use voice enhansers and everything in that studio, how do you think they recorded it?

ay im wif u on that 1. its not dubbed hes just using an auto tune or some effects to make it sound like the album version
the live tone is removed and the album track inserted
it's not in playback! it's audio studio resync on the live video! this live wasn't in playback... this video yes... ;)
Jir 2006 di upload, gw masih di barak pengungsian tsunami
Sadly, his voice has been edited by sound effect before the show started.
Look, even if you're a Tombot, you just can't be serious with this. Turn on your mp3 of the song and see for yourself. Every word is exactly the way it's on the album. yeah i think ure right..im pretty sure its just 'go' at the end....like goooooooo
this is better like studio record
I can agree that this is playback, but there stil an inspiring Space rock band (not many) of them around now =D the last bit is epic ^^ there best performances are probaly at the voo doo festival and guitar centre drum off Atom sounds wicked there.
yeah i know but maybe is from another concert or is singing only at that time live...look at 1:17 2:03 2:29 3:07
Pure Truth the Church doesn't want to tell you from around 1500 ac : )
@gizmo359c it isn't lip synced...
im not critisizing u m8 but i dont think its dubbed. he is actually singing it but at the same time using some kind of amazing musical technology to make him sound like his studio voice. listen to the extra bit of the song in the end then im sure you'll know what im talkin about...

Oooh, puppy love between two Tombots!
I Love you Thomas
they didnt play that on tv howd u get it?
If i was here i would completely lose my shit
i think a new addition to the gift lol XD
14 FUCKING YEARS AGO!!!
Imagine if Tom got with Mark and Travis of +44 and formed a supergroup.
what if tom could actually sing like this live?????? holy piss
skyscrapermario...what the hell are u saying?he put the mic near his face exactly when he restart to sing...
qnd balla è troppo ganzo, mi fa piegare, grande Tom!
I've been wondering on the same thing.. kind of weird, but cool :)
@whoahbundy why used to? i think he's still just as awesome :L
Sounds like everything except the drums are dubbed over or in place of.
Still love
@BenjiKebab
more than the vocals dude, at 1:08 there are clearly 2 different guitars playing and tom doesn't have his.
In all of their 7th Avenue drop performances, they turn off the playback right at the chorus for almost every song.
oh right.. thx ;P
you can use a pitch correcter live... and he hes using one. I think this is the best band in the whole world, but I wont deny hes using an auto-tune live. and I don care :D
Why did they do this to his voice, hes sang it live before :(

Hey, don't get me wrong, Tom's one of my idols and AVA is my favourite band, I just hate dubbed performances.
the voice 100% playback

its actually "ill go hoooooooooome" but he does the lil tom slur thing haha
the only part not dubbed is drums lol its always and only the drums
if you'll ask me i'll gooooOOOooo...100 percentay
