I feel if he wasn’t attracted to girls like lily, nini,and Gina ( those happy to reassure him of their feelings for him) he fail miserably in the love department. Because I would have gotten toxic with a guy like that because where is your confidence with nini he was jealous of her wanting to elevate in life without him and with Gina he was getting in his own way because what happened with nini

I disagree. I don’t think Lily or Nini necessarily reassured him of their feelings for him. I don’t even count Lily because he only “dated” her briefly - they were never officially together and the small bit of dynamic we saw between them was enough to see they were never a match. I don’t think Ricky was jealous of Nini wanting to elevate herself - he was hurt that she felt that he was holding her back (which is understandable considering they were together. It’s not a nice thing to hear). Ricky spends most of S4 actually reassuring Gina and being there for her despite his fears. Yes, he does try to self sabotage but it’s not just because of what happened with Nini. In the conversation with EJ he literally says he’s scared to lose people. You have to remember Ricky is someone who doesn’t like change (and the whole show is pretty much his Junior and senior year) so it’s a lot of changes happening in a short amount of time. And he had parents who were not the best example when it comes to love and relationships so of course he’ll struggle with it somehow. S1, he literally says when auditioning he couldn’t say I love you back to Nini because his parents don’t even use that word or show affection…When you grow up like that, it’s hard to give to others what you never received but the good thing is he’s learning and growing (of course with many trials and errors) but that’s life.
