Btw.: 1984 was published, not written in 1949. It was withheld during the war, and the original title was 1948. But it was a hot potato and thus was published after the war and with this new, more distant title. You see, Orwell thought of his vision as to be unfolding in his present. At 13:15 I feel like you missed an opportunity to play swan lake.
You should have a look at the removal of security cameras in Berlin. After the collapse of the Berlin Wall, and the not so nice experience they had with the secret police, they had a policy of not tracking their citizens. So it might be possible to cut back on mass surveillance if you have a bad enough past of it
This channel is awesome. I am glad I found it.
9:20 "Hey Citizen, pick up that can"
pick up that 二月刀
Dude from the jokes to the music to the footage to the humor I love your work I hope one day I can replicate this style or presentation RESPECT
I love this video. This is by far the best written episode for me. It's hilarious too. I appreciate the effort you put into your work and I especially appreciate how much they make me think, even if I look like this after doing it: 14:30
I was listening to this while walking back from doing some shopping with a bag in each hand so I really appreciated the gag at the end especially without having a free hand to adjust my volume.
The labour party joke was probably the sickest burn in this entire video
Bruh this video had me folded like a deck chair. That Chinese Siri joke was S tier my guy.
Really enjoying ur stuff, keep up the great work 🤙
13:22 Remember to stay indoors and don’t talk about the event.
It's almost like Todd Phillips stole that ending for Joker
NO!
DO NOT THINK ABOUT THE EVENT!, IT WILL CAUSE DISTRESS!
Btw.: 1984 was published, not written in 1949. It was withheld during the war, and the original title was 1948. But it was a hot potato and thus was published after the war and with this new, more distant title. You see, Orwell thought of his vision as to be unfolding in his present. Also check out Anthony Burgess "1985", a critical essay and alternative novel more aptly depicting 1980' ahead.
There's a great Radiolab episode (they're all great really) about aerial surveillance called Eye In the Sky.
Still looking for it since I ran across these comments in this very video.

Thank you so much!
“Education van has been dispatched to your location to inform you further” - funniest joke ever. 🤣😆
I love how you make fun of everything without being overly political. Few people out there will criticize both russia and china lol
@aadhi gei some generic lib ragging on Russia and China as some boogeyman is literally nothing new nor special. Also, it’s always rich hearing a Brit complain about another country being a surveillance state.
@@JohnSmith-nh2te You do realize he talked extensively about British surveillance, right? He covered lots of different countries and situations and complained about all of them.
@@areadenial2343 He obviously didn’t watch to video and just came to post about libs being bad while forgetting about the red scare and McCarthyism..
He got really political. Did you watch the same video?
@@SpiceIntolerance I’m a communist; this video is part of what I’d called McCarthyism 2.0. I just think it’s funny for a “sophisticated” western man to be complaining about surveillance in the East. It’s classic Red Scare behavior hidden behind a “fair analysis”.
I really appreciate your non-partisan roasting of both political parties. Very refreshing in this day and age.
"After a year of the 1-Child-policy -- No one remembered what a big brother was"
What a beautiful joke
9:10 in the vid. To paraphrase, ‘bad people taking over the systems built by and entrusted to honest people.’ This is the reason a government who cares has no reason to fear a populous with the ability to retaliate. “You have nothing to fear, if you have nothing to hide” goes BOTH WAYS 🎉
Edit: grammar
The problem with using lasers to blind cameras is that to actually damage the sensor the laser the laser would instantly blind anyone who even sees a reflection of it.
Honestly that footage used as evidence has better picture quality than most surveillance cameras of today
They literally named their jaywalking cams Skynet. We're all going to die.
Man, you're the only person I'm gonna support on Patreon. Amazing videos!
Your the funniest UA-cam I know. Even though the humor is so subtle
NGL, your videos are really binge able and just generally entertaining
Read gulag archipelago. That’s much scarier then anything in 1984. It actually happened and most people aren’t familiar with it other then a level on a call of duty game.
But then you can’t blame everything on right wing people.
Ordinary Things is the best documentary channel
This makes me want to see your take on the Great Reset.
Been binging your vids but that ending was worth the sub! Lol
Keep up the good work brother!
