      Even after 13 years of armwrestling, I’m still learning new things all the time. Sometimes I’m correct, sometimes I’m wrong, but I want to share my learning journey with everyone here and that’s why I make videos like this.

    Also one more thing to consider.
    I use devons lifts in my training.
    In the past I had a very weak wrist. Pretty much every one of my matches would end up in a flop press. After months of working with devons pronator and rising lifts, I have noticed that my opponents now(the same people who cracked my wrist easily before) now can't.
    And I have to say, I have not trained my "Wrist" ever. I used to do a few wrist curls before. But from the past few months where this change occurred I have not trained my wrist. My wrist just magically got stronger. So devons lifts work to some greater degree that I don't properly understand.

    • @EastsideArmWrestling
      @EastsideArmWrestling  9 місяців тому +7

      Yes, that is a very good point to bring up as well, and here’s why:
      With a stronger riser and pronation, you will put your opponent’s hand under way more pressure than they can put onto yours. This in turn reduces the force they are exerting on your fingers and wrist, hence giving the illusion of your wrist becoming stronger. But in fact, it’s because your other parts are stronger, which prevents them from exerting as much force as before.

Who wasn't even armwrestling for 3/4 of the year because he was On Tour duty be doing gear when most of his matches for nearly 15 years were in between deployments? that makes no sense...Also he has a seminar where someone asks about gear maybe 8 years ago and says that "it shows dedication to the sport but you must be LIFE giving to the sport, at that time he was not ready to give his life for the sport" now he is.

    • @EastsideArmWrestling
      @EastsideArmWrestling  9 місяців тому +2

      At the end of the day, none of us know when he started gear, but if I were to bet, I’d say he probably started it once he started armwrestling for money, which is a long time ago. The dosages and all may have changed here and there, but definitely he’s been on it for a good while.
      All that being said, I think that his improvements from WAL days to now are not mainly due to his sauce protocol but other reasons like being more healed, having better training, etc.

    I disagree i dont think his cup got that much better. When the pronation is too weak often you need to go full kingsmove which also include kicking the wrist back slightly to gain increased pronation/rise.

    • @EastsideArmWrestling
      @EastsideArmWrestling  9 місяців тому

      You pose a fair point there. In fact, a strong enough rise and pronation can give the illusion of having a stronger cup just by putting your opponent into a worse position. So your opinion is completely valid 👍

    Devon is surely a top tier armwrestler but in my opinion Devon's dominance resides also in the fact that he is more accustomed to these kind of supermach events than other athletes. He is accustomed to loading before the go (removing speed as a factor in the match), to moving in the ref grip, to insulting his opponent during the match to make him lose focus, to intentionally slip, to pull for a lot of rounds etc. His technique is built also on those things that I listed. People like Ermes, Levan etc. have grown in WAF tournaments, Zloty Turs etc., where you can't do all this.

    • @EastsideArmWrestling
      @EastsideArmWrestling  9 місяців тому +2

      That’s a very good point too. Being more adept at, for a lack of better words, “cheating” is also a big part of his advantage. I’ve noticed this in myself personally too. I’m more used to strict refereeing and when put in situation outside of that, I find my performance drops noticeably.

      Yeah I do think he has an extremely similar style to Cvetan.
