There was another comment in my inbox about how well the 3D printed parts might hold up against the plasma. But it was deleted or did not appear here, so my answer is I've seen other CNC plasma machines use 3D printed parts around the torch area and been OK. So let's see how it goes. I do think the 3D printed cover near the torch might not last that long as it is so thin. When this thing is finally working I'll post something, but we are some way off!

Does the on/off switch activate the enable pulse? Very enjoyable keep the good work up.

Oh, yes that could be it! Maybe I'll wire up the enable and see. I'll report back if that works or put it in the next video.

I saw on that board's terminal block there is on/off that you did not connect. I guess that goes to enable pin on driver.

Yes I think you are right. I don’t use the enable contact on my machines so didn’t connect it. I’ll test it and see, thanks.

Nice build series. We shared this video (and the first two parts) on our homemade tool forum last week 😎

Ok great. Should be more to come over the following weeks (and months!)

Buy some different sizes of piano wire, you have a lathe so you can make springs to the exact specs you want. 😉👍

Funnily enough I've been thinking of doing just that for a while now. There are quite a few videos out there showing how it can be done. Maybe I'll give it a go and make some tooling . . .
