  • This is a different program called "Right Here Right Now with Patrick Madrid" We have a back and fourth conversation which is not like the other calls I have made. It cuts off in the end but as soon as a good copy is downloadable I will upload the whole conversation.

Savita, a Hindu of Indian origin, was suffering from a miscarriage when she was some 17 weeks pregnant, and she sought medical attention and treatment at University Hospital Galway. The hospital told them the foetus was not viable, but they could not perform an abortion under Irish RELIGIOUS Law. As a DIRECT result of the lack of medical care she died from septicemia which led to multiple organ failure and her death. They let her lay there and DIE for three days and did NOTHING. That's IMMORAL.

on the right hand there is a gab in the frequencies. Did you apply some sort of filter against those?

You should have called him on the "children, felons, the mentally imparied, etc. cannot marry/benefit fully from it" part.
There's a reason these groups cannot get married, it is because those groups have lost or not yet gained legal capacity, and thus cannot consent to a legal agreement. It has to do with how society views their mental capability, kids are too young, felons have proven their inability to follow the law, and mental patients can get married if they are aware enough to wish it.

To Be fair the facts of the case in Ireland are as yet unclear. The law on abortion in Ireland is currently in a state of limbo BUT! under the circumstances of this case an abortion would normally have been granted. The big question is why it was not. Fetal termination does take place in Ireland under circumstances like the Savita case. An inquiry is underway and the Irish government is promising to legislate on abortion soon.

For now, let's pretend he's not. What's his source for the claim that no abortion was asked for/the abortion laws of Ireland were immaterial to the case?

The on air personality did not present the facts of this case at all. While it's true the woman was having a miscarriage but she have lived if the hospital had preformed an abortion of the fetus. However, the hospital was unable to preform said abortion because the fetus still had a heart beat and the law in Ireland states that any fetus with a heart beat is still a potential life that can not be aborted.

"The FACT is that if they had given her the abortion she OBVIOUSLY needed, she would be alive today" No that conclusion was not corroborated by the inquiry. While I empathize with you about the painful death that Savita went through it doesn't change the facts of the case. Just because there is a major media campaign to convince people that she died because of lack of abortion services does not mean that happened.

I'm from Ireland. He's 100% correct. The lady did die of sepsis and there was an inquiry here made up of experts from abroad and it revealed that it was a case of medical malpractice. If she had access to abortion it would not have affected the outcome of her case. Maybe you should check the facts before you criticize.
