Thank you for the update, Jonathan and Susie. Please ignore the negative hurtful comments from the haters and bashers. You both reacted wisely to the incident, and I truly admire you both for staying calm and at the same time being alert and able to think and assess the situation. I appreciate this vlog because we all learn from it. We all need to be prepared and be smart when we travel in places, and your experience is actually helpful. There’s no shaming at all in this type of vlog. I actually follow a Czech vlogger who gives travel tips about Czech Republic, especially in Prague, e.g., how not get scammed or robbed in Prague, etc., and his vlogs helped me prepare for our trip in his country. Coincidentally, we ran into him in Prague so we got to thank him personally for all that he does. Looking forward to your next vlog about your upcoming trip. Hopefully your flight does not get cancelled and that the typhoon is not passing the area where you are going. Stay safe and God bless always.🥰
I'm so very sad to hear that you get many negative comments. I truly believe those types of comments reflect more on the commenter than on your family. I really enjoy your vlogs and hope this does not discourage you from continuing. Thank you for sharing your lives with us!
hi! being calm on that kind of situation is a blessing, you can use your brain work properly. Bashers will be always part of your life for sure, but your action and opinion will be your choice, not on them....... that's where the power is. God bless you and your baby. Susie don't let this experience stress you out... for the baby, everything will be about your baby for now. Take care angels are always there with us have faith.
So sad about the incident, guys. The negative comments isn't going to help at all. You guys are truly good people and I support you in all of your decisions. Keep up the wonderful things you are doing. All the best to you and your family. Until next time!😊😊😊
Thanks for the video. We will be making a trip to the Philippines soon. Your information can be helpful. I would never have thought of carrying the glass breaker and seatbelt cutter. Stay safe. Love your videos. And, congratulations on your upcoming baby’s birth.
It is very important to expose this man so that he cannot victimize anybody else. Don't worry about hurting the image of the country because this happens in other countries as well. There are bad guys in all countries and the Philippines is no exception. I am glad you three are ok.
@@Jonathan_SITP 'fraid i've never tried it so i can't reco anything specific. i saw linseed oil in a cursory search but there may be better/easier to obtain oil. i think even mineral oil would be ok
I’m glad you guys are okay 🤗 This is an eye opener for everyone to be always vigilant wherever you are, my older sister has experienced these things as well especially she used to study in Manila before coming to US , she said always not wear mga alahas, etc.. especially nowadays people are desperate even here in US- they will just do anything- and it’s sad. I’m glad you guys reported it ! that incident you guys encountered is so scary!!!that’s why whenever my kids do Uber- I tell them to take a screenshot of the driver and plate no and send it to me so I have their record just in case. Thank God you both are okay!!! We just have to be careful and vigilant always. I always carry pepper and spray inside my bag and so as my kids.
Perhaps Grab can vet their drivers more carefully as well? I know they require from their drivers NBI clearances annually, however some incidents do not get reported so these are not in the system. This means the bad person has no record in the system, a major loophole. Be careful guys! You are an adorable couple! 🙏💙
Glad you are both safe Jonathan and Susie. Its a wise and prudent decision to have the driver's face and name hidden and let Grab and Police work on it and all details you provided. There are data privacy laws and legalities you need to consider too. You are responding well based on your judgement and your experience. While many people are reacting out of anger. Ignore the negative people and rebuke the curse. Praying for good health and safety of your baby. Thanks for sharing so that everyone who takes Grab is reminded there can be bad drivers out there. God bless.
File a complaint with the police and with the LTFRB so that the driver will be penalized, taxi drivers in metro manila are notorious for being dishonest!!
It’s a huge setback for Grab App to have this kind of drivers
Ang grab ay premium taxi meaning they are public transport.
Gets mo?
Bring them up, John and Susie im full blooded filipino it's time to those people to correct their lifestyle ,coz Karma is real were close to the tribulations.
Know that being out in public eyes, people will always comment to get a rise out of you two. It's a sick way of getting "shout out". Glad you two are ok. A scary situation indeed & a lesson learned to always be aware.
Hello guys take care always, I really admire your husband mam susie because he is very calm and gentle even when he speak, because if it's happen to me I think i'll gonna loss my temper and done something bad to the driver and make the situation worse... God Bless to both of you.
We had an issue with a taxi in MOA ; we rode a taxi in front of MOA , we told him our destination while onboard and he kept driving and saying where is that. Our hotel is a main hotel called Trypp hotel by windham which is I know just a few blocks away. We didn’t walk because my wife said she didn’t felt good. The taxi driver says he doesn’t know that hotel; my question was how he didn’t know when it’s a main or well known chain hotel. After that I asked him to drop us off. This is just one of my taxi experience while in Manila. Most of my bad experiences were in the exit I NAIA.
in your situation, it may be legit he doesnt know that hotel, but he could have googled your hotel, i've never heard of that hotel too, but I sometimes have google open too during my taxi rides to ensure im going the right way.
Why are so many Filipinos coming in defense of the taxi driver? There is no shame in calling out the bad apples in your country. As tourists we need your help not disinformation. Some even go as far as reporting the Blogger to UA-cam and hope to remove the video. None of that is necessary. We already know your country is beautiful to visit with beautiful people.
well those troll doesn't even know the situation. there are some red flags notice by Jonathan and Susie and the driver ignore it. Philippines is a good and nice country but we cannot say its perfect there some "bad apples" will show up eventually. i hope tourist will still come to the Philippines.
⭐️ I agree you shouldn’t show his identity. But I don’t know about no crime. He did not turn around like you demanded him to do. He kept going in the direction opposite your destination. That clearly puts you in danger and should be like kidnapping. 14:10
Intense situation the three of were involved in. Seems like the driver had malice aforethought planned out in his head. You are right not to expose the driver or even show his image on a video this action could backfire on you. It was advantageous that you kept your wits about you. Although getting him to stop in the middle of a highway magnified the danger of being run over at the least you were able to control the situation and completed the objective of getting the driver to stop and hard lining what he had planned. Secondly, it was enough to attract the attention of the public and law enforcement officials, who are now potential witnesses, on what could have been a very bad incident. The negative comments and flak that are directed towards you are completely irrelevant. It's always easier to say "They would have handled it this way or that way." Psychologically speaking could they really put into practice what they negatively commented on if they were in the exact same position? With the adrenaline running "full tilt" emotions overpowering your cognitive process? I think not. Negative comments are usually derived from ignorance. Cursing an unborn child? wow amazing ! That person is definitely "soft" in the head most likely has a very low IQ with very little no education at all. I'm actually surprised he or she can read or write. I think you two handled it well you put into practice and old addage of improvise, adapt, and overcome. You controlled the outcome!
I should also say that I love both of you. You’re a perfect couple. And, you each complement each other. I tend to have a personality more like Jonathan, which is sometimes hard for my Filipina wife to understand. Again, best wishes.
Any travelers that are taking taxi in the PHILIPPINES. For safety, Don't board the taxi right away. Take a picture of the taxi and license plate and send it to your family abroad or family in the Philippines. If the taxi driver don't like it, wait for another one. Susie is pregnant, it's very dangerous to get upset and scared. Shame on that driver. There's no excuse getting lost in the roadways. If he doesn't know the place. Why didn't he used the goggle map navigstor? Jonathan told him to turn around, he's driving out of their way. Instead of reassuring the passengers, he mumbled. That's very suspicious. That will make the passengers suspecting for something sinister. It's very appalling, many of us Pilipinos commented negatively. Instead of supporting the victims, they supported the coward driver. We all know that many taxi drivers in the Philippines are scamming the passengers. It happened to Mike and Nelly. The vloggers Making it Happen and to my brother.. Honestly speaking, it happened to me too. Many Pilipino taxi drivers are sucks. They're destroying the reputation of our country. Pilipinos are known for hospitality but many of our taxi drivers are dishonest and some are criminals. Two of our kababayan working in the Middle East took a taxi from NAIA to Bulacan. The police found them in the rice field dead. They took all the money and their luggages. What is this? So appalling.
I am even more impressed with Jonathan’s hair stylist, whom I complimented in that salon errand vlog. You two looked super grrrreat for the gaaaahhh laaah (darlings), & I noticed how versatile Jonathan’s haircut is. He can wear it different ways which are all becoming! “Becoming” sounds feminine, but I mean the true definition of the word! Complimentary…& stylin’! In a manly/🔥 way! // During the bus ride section of the vlog (which I enjoyed), b4 I’d seen the end sections but I had a hint from the previews, etc…; I was chuckling that Susie mentioned in the road stops the CRs advertise food in the stalls! I have seen that here too in USA, tho less often, but more commonly our road side CR stalls feature signs about how to get help if you are being sex trafficked…. Or have problems with substances or gambling. None of this is laughable at all, but it just struck me as a funny/strange contrast. Bibingka v. Dark underbelly of society. Isang bibingka, please po! (Hope I wrote that correctly)//. Susie looked beautiful too, tho I focused comments on J today. S is very consistent in looking gorgeous for events & everyday life! I luv ballgowns! But I think my fave gala was the one in which y’all wore the golden ivory Philippine native attire inspired looks.
P.s. I missed the live; so ty for posting replays always. The info in the LS was illuminating even more to me from the vlog, which I’d watched closely more than once as i receive it earlier (as a patroness). Which I also appreciate, that is a fun perk usually that I didn’t realize I’d enjoy so much until I had it. Difficult to hear even more details, but it is a fuller reporting. I’m sorry your authenticity & transparency has brought you even more grief after this terrible experience. There are many more of us that appreciate & love you two. Many that never comment, I am very certain.
“Ilonggo” is considered to define a specific group of people whose ethnic origins are in the provinces of Iloilo, Guimaras, and Panay, while "Hiligaynon" defines the language and culture of the Ilonggo people. Thus, both terms are interchangeable in referring to the culture of the people or the people themselves.
I'm sorry it happened to you, I watched your video yesterday and remarked how quick thinking you both were with Susie pretending to be nauseous and you approaching the police immediately. Good thing both of you didn't panic and lost your composure inside the car. Negative comments are expected. I am a Filipino in Hungary and have had negative experiences here but I don't publicize them because people might say it's for clout or attention-seeking or fake story and I already know how the Hungarians will react 😂🤣but the situation you described is much different of course.
FILE A LEGAL CASE SO THE DRIVER WILL BE PUT IN PRISON!!! TOO MANY FILIPINOS ARE DOING THIS TO FOREIGNERS AND GOOD DRIVERS ARE AFFECTED. PUT HIM IN JAIL AND LET HIM PAY WHAT HE DID!!!
LTFRB DOTR LTO #BAKANAMAN
I just started watching your vlog. I am in West Virginia USA. I just watch Vice President Sarah Duterte mentioning in an interview about foreigners being kidnapped in the Philippines. So in light of what happened to you it might be wise to be aware of where you two are going as you are all have a higher profile now. For all you know it might just be a rehearsal, it is kind of suspicious, just a thought. Be safe.
I am thankful you are both safe after the incident. I hope GRAB will be more careful in hiring good and dedicated drivers. I am now scared to ride GRAB TAXI.
Please post it ...what happened...for us to be aware. We dont want to tolerate THEIR WRONG DOING... put your camera on right take picture of the driver and send it to thevperson you know...otherwise more dangerous for locals and Foreigners...TOURISM MUST BE AWARE....
Yikes, he does sound fishy with all the details you are recalling. Either he was working with others or he has mental health issues. Either way, very scary. Ingat kayo lagi and God bless your family with growing baby and cutie Pixel. 🌞🫶🏼
Don't believe the Driver....yes, no crime was commited luckily Police came at early time.. but for me the guy has a bad intention if he was ignoring your request and. he has someone talking with his phone. Anyway Grab will handle that case. And surely that Guy will be in Police Record. Take Care and God Bless🙏❤️
Crime is on the rise in the Philippines not just towards expats but also filipinos, I saw a filipino chasing after another filipino who had snatched his money.
Please p,ease Kindly share / tell who the Grab driver to us, the Car Plate number, Car make & model, car color, Driver description, so that we would Not make a mistake on riding this grab driver & that this situation would not happen to us who often ride a grab taxi. So please please tell to us the details of the grab driver & the car plate number & description. . . . . . Keep Safe. . . .
That driver needs to go thru drug test, that guy could be taking something maybe thats why he is behaving that way. If a person mind can't understand you clearly there's something wrong with them.
I feel so sorry to hear that you are getting a lot of negative comments. People with a crab mentality will usually do this victim blaming stuff. Ignore this kind of people. Be positive.
unfortunately crab mentality is very common in PH, people get angry because they take it personal when its not about them individually still take it as an attack on them, thats why the country sometimes cannot progress and get left behind.
flimsy excse that the driver is lost. Yo yorselves sa he was not follwing Grab drections He has anther intention and drivng to a far destination is very suspcious.
Last month, we traveled to the Philippines with my Filipina wife and our half-Filipina daughter. Our trip began with a few days in Makati, followed by a visit to LB, my wife’s hometown. During our stay in Makati, we made use of GRAB services, which provided a positive experience. Conversations with the drivers went smoothly. Unfortunately, your driver seemed to be having a challenging day.
I left manila for the U.S. 25 years ago and never looked back. Yes mostly are dishonest. Even a childhood friend who happened to be a taxicab driver, whose family I helped when their squatters area burned down overcharged my girlfriend!
You two are brave people and don’t let the trolls get you down! I’d be proud to be your friend and I trust you both completely!!
Thank you so much we appreciate all the support.
Thank God both of you are safe. I commend Jonathan for his calm manner of managing this dangerous situation.
Thank you so much for the support, we wont let the negative get to us.

Hello Susie & jonathan
Nice to see both❤
When you started to complain that you were going the wrong way, he closed the windows. So it wasn't a mistake, he has other things in mind.
Scary, be careful , please share your ride to your friends or your parents, brother or sister in order your ride is monitored.
Salamat po para sa update sa ito
Glad that both of you are ok. God Bless
Good nothing happened. But always be aware wherever you go. Don’t let your guard down. Ingat, be safe
Always take care everytime you do some vlog... God bless both of you.
you need to keep the axe oiled regularly to prevent rust!
Thanks for the tip, I use wd40 sometimes to clean it. Do you know what kind of oil I can use to prevent rust?

The info in the LS was illuminating even more to me from the vlog, which I’d watched closely more than once as i receive it earlier (as a patroness). Which I also appreciate, that is a fun perk usually that I didn’t realize I’d enjoy so much until I had it. Difficult to hear even more details, but it is a fuller reporting. I’m sorry your authenticity & transparency has brought you even more grief after this terrible experience. There are many more of us that appreciate & love you two. Many that never comment, I am very certain.
Its just part of life. Just be vigilant next time . If you dont feel comfortable. Ask for help asap like opening window and shout.
Since you didnt show the picture and name of the drIver and not file a case he might do it again.
you can file a case for unjust vexation but it's a light offense
do not mind people with the devil's mind. Believe what you believe and appreciate the positive and ignore the negative. Do not even try to explain.
Greetings from Vienna,Austria
FILE A LEGAL CASE SO THE DRIVER WILL BE PUT IN PRISON!!! TOO MANY FILIPINOS ARE DOING THIS TO FOREIGNERS AND GOOD DRIVERS ARE AFFECTED. PUT HIM IN JAIL AND LET HIM PAY WHAT HE DID!!!
Susie and Mimic voice Jonathan youre safe
please file a complain to save future victim of this driver
LTFRB DOTR LTO #BAKANAMAN
That's attempted kidnapping
Why is it that a lot of foreigners and locals have problems with taxi in PI?
I just started watching your vlog. I am in West Virginia USA. I just watch Vice President Sarah Duterte mentioning in an interview about foreigners being kidnapped in the Philippines. So in light of what happened to you it might be wise to be aware of where you two are going as you are all have a higher profile now. For all you know it might just be a rehearsal, it is kind of suspicious, just a thought. Be safe.
I am thankful you are both safe after the incident. I hope GRAB will be more careful in hiring good and dedicated drivers. I am now scared to ride GRAB TAXI.
Not only Grab should return your money, but they need to answer for the damage that driver caused you.
You should use GRAB instead of a TAXI.
Lots of TAXI drivers are crooks or in Cahoots with kidnappers or Holduppers.
This incident happened in a Grab.
Hey, i woyld like to know because my son goes to school there and its scary that this is happening
It would be helpful if we all knew the plate number, make, model, and driver's name so that we can avoid that Grab.
I'm glad ur both safe. Can't ur case be considered attempted kidnapping?
so many narrow, dark and even evl minds in ths world. ignre is the best. Don't be affected. many are envious or jst pain uncouth and ignorant.
It was a grab car that was involved n not a metered taxi . Please clarify. N be fair.
Grab is scary now a days, I don't know if i will ride one ever again.
Please p,ease Kindly share / tell who the Grab driver to us, the Car Plate number, Car make & model, car color, Driver description, so that we would Not make a mistake on riding this grab driver & that this situation would not happen to us who often ride a grab taxi. So please please tell to us the details of the grab driver & the car plate number & description. . . . . . Keep Safe. . . .
Did you file a police complaint? You should!
That driver needs to go thru drug test, that guy could be taking something maybe thats why he is behaving that way. If a person mind can't understand you clearly there's something wrong with them.
Dont travel to far specially seasone of uricane and Susie is pregnant thats I care advice you gus
You should have shown his identity…..because he is going to continue to do others…. Tge others may not be so lucky
You can file a case becuse your pregnant and if it caused you truama you can file a case.
Diba crab.jnd taxi
a crime was commited he locked the car doors he ignored your requests and drove you away from your destination so technically it's kidnap
delete the comments and block those people! grrr
a ng driver naka metro sya para tumaas fare nila hahaha forgot nya Grab sya hehe
flimsy excse that the driver is lost.
Challenging day? he was getting ready to commit a crime
I left manila for the U.S. 25 years ago and never looked back. Yes mostly are dishonest. Even a childhood friend who happened to be a taxicab driver, whose family I helped when their squatters area burned down overcharged my girlfriend!
Report to grab police report
maybe you guys have to move to Europe. it's a safer place. 🚠
Susie and Mimic voice Jonathan youre safe
