Came here too to point out “Hunter Railcars” - they’re spiritually a single-deck Oscar, more than an Endeavour. Your videos are the best in the genre already. Good camerawork (good camera!), good scripting and annunciation, and most of all, good research and effort taken to scope locations and grab those views we all wish we could see for ourselves. It’s really useful historically too.
And yes, I now realise that Hunter Railcars are a class of their own and are quite a lot newer than the Endeavour trains. I will be devoting a whole video to the Hunter Railcars soon.
Good idea for a series Paul. Can't wait for the Bomaderry video, Worth keeping in mind the immediately to the north of the platform at Bomaderry are investigation works for a future platform extension similar to platform 1 and 2 at Cronulla.
Great new series, If you were wondering no trains are stored at Telarah, all Hunter trains spend the night either at Broadmeadow Maintenance Centre or Hamilton Yard
Great to see you go out there for us and give a very informative tour. Still finishing your rear view video of the Unanderra to Robertson trip. I'm a bit Metroed out but will take a look at those as well.
Hi James, Glad you enjoyed this video and are enjoying the Unanderra to Robertson video too. Yes the lockdown has shifted the balance away from Sydney Metro for a little while.
Haha I thought I’ve lived in NSW my whole life and had never heard of the town when Paul pronounced it, but when he showed the map or whatever it was oh then knew where he was talking about
Telarah? Of all places not much there at all Paul. Well, you could have walked to Bunnings it's not far at all from the station my friend. As a suggestion, it was possible to catch that train they announced going up to Dungog. A bit further up there is Paterson, the grass hill up a bit further, the Wollorobah tunnel it's about 150 m long I am not sure and then Dungog turn around and come back Paul. It's been a while since I went passed Telarah Station on the train. Anyway, good job on the video my friend.
Yes, I did catch that train to Dungog! It was a lovely run and I filmed a few bits of it. I also did some filming at Dungog and this will be my next end of the line video. I also got some great footage inside the Hunter Set that terminated at Dungog, so that will go in my Hunter Sets video which I'm planning to do soon.
3:30 I will attest to that, mate. One of the reasons why it always pays off to carry some spare coins especially if I want a quick pickup from the station. Much more reliable than a mobile phone.
Are you referring to what looks like a protective sheet between the two rails? If so I reckon its probably to protect the ballast from oil or diesel leaks from stationary terminating trains.
Possibly next year. I would like to do an end of the line video at Scone, but that would require an overnight stay. Yes a few other people picked up on my mispronunciation of Muswellbrook!
Nicely done Paul. What no vending machine for drinks or snacks. That really is end of the line stuff. (Hey I like how you slip in a mispronunciation to encourage some comments, very clever 😉)
Glad you enjoyed it! - The mispronunciation wasn't intentional! It's one of the disadvantages of being from the UK and learning on the job! - When I first arrived in Sydney, I used to pronounce Wynyard as Wynyarrrrd and I still struggle to pronounce Artarmon correctly!
09:30 I think they’re steel coil containers. There’s information at the bottom of this page about model versions: www.auscisionmodels.com.au/RH-RV%20Container%20Page.htm
I love these videos! Keep making great content sir! Also just thought you'd like to know, alternate names for the Hunter Railcars are 'J' Sets & Endeavour Railcars are 'N' Sets :)
Thanks! Will do. Yes I now realise that the Hunter Railcars are a little different from the Endeavours. I plan to do a video on the Hunter Railcars, so I'll be an expert on them after that!
The Hunters were originally called H set's, until it caused quite a bit of confusion one day, When ops couldn't work out how on earth an Oscar got to a platform on the "Hunter line" But they still have "2H" markers :-)
I'd hate to have a medical emergency without staff there, shit someone could die of a heart attack, diabetes or breathing problems. Also what about the person who gets there many hours too late to sae the dead person they'd feel somewhat responcible for they dead person's death. They should change how they opperate maybe from 5:45am to like about the second to last train which would give someone who has a medical problem a chance to live god damn it.
That's very true, this could happen. But I guess a medical emergency could happen in many other places too, where there is no one immediately available. There are many other stations that have no staff at all - especially on the line up to Dungog. I guess an unstaffed station is better than no station at all.
You’re awesome
Thanks!

I agree with a previous comment, I do admire the amount of research and detail you put into your videos. They are very informative mate
Thanks Julian! - I enjoy doing the research and including as much detail as possible.
@@TransportVlog do I have to do that station to see a freight trains because we don’t get in singleton
@@BeckhamStocks I would go to Maitland instead, you'll see a lot more freight trains there!
@@TransportVlog should do a video in singleton one time we mainly see coal trains 👍
@@TransportVlog alright, thanks man I will one-day. Keep up the good work. I’ll see you in the next video
Geoff Marshall also does End of the Line series too
Hi Yitao, yes he does, but I started doing mine before he did!
The yellow wagons are used out at Cobar mines it's believed they are carrying gold. They are also at other Gold mine sites as well.
Thanks for that John, really interesting to know that gold is transported by rail!
i use payphone when my phone battery over so its free to use telstra payphone and so handy mate
Good idea for a series Paul. Can't wait for the Bomaderry video, Worth keeping in mind the immediately to the north of the platform at Bomaderry are investigation works for a future platform extension similar to platform 1 and 2 at Cronulla.
That's my local station.
Nice one Gary! - I was hoping that some local passengers would see this video!
Yes I'm looking forward to doing Bomaderry. I'll probably have a day out and cover Kiama and perhaps Port Kembla on the same day!
Great new series, If you were wondering no trains are stored at Telarah, all Hunter trains spend the night either at Broadmeadow Maintenance Centre or Hamilton Yard
Yes, I thought that would probably be the case. It's not that easy to access the freight yard from the platform.
@Va Sr No it doesn't look very secure. I think it's probably mainly used to hold freight trains back to allow other trains to pass.
Great to see you go out there for us and give a very informative tour.

Another top vid. Muswellbrook is usually prounounced with the "w" silent.

Question is Bombo Station the closest platform to the Tasman Sea at aprox 86m to high tide line
I don't know. Sounds like a good Train Trivia question though!

I'm Hoping you will end up doing an end of the line at Goulburn one day even though trains to Goulburn during the middle of the day are not opal.
Hi Mick, Yes it's definitely on the list! I would probably do Goulburn and Canberra as part of the same trip.
@@TransportVlog yay great news can’t wait :)
Check the Bankstown Line from Sydenham to Bankstown before the transformation to the Sydney Metro
Yes, definitely planning to do that. I'm going to visit all the stations on the Bankstown Line soon and cover how they might change with Sydney Metro.
@@TransportVlog The de-curvification should be interesting
I love how you figured out what was going on at Sydenham!

On the Platform Track. What is that something doing on the Track?

Fantastic and informative presentation! I have always been curious as to how Telarah station works and the system of the Hunter line. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it. It's an interesting little terminus!
And also at those Yellow wagons are a type of Steel Wagons
Awesome! Thanks for sharing that.
I’d love to get up to the Hunter, such an interesting place with a massive variety of freight and passneger
Yes it is. I was there for a few days back in April and I recorded a few videos, so you'll see these over the next few months.

It's pronounced "Muscle brook", thanks for the obscure station videos.
