    I replaced my cabin air filters under the hood as well. Just pry up the 2 clips and lift the cover up and forward. You can clearly see the two filters then. Lift the inboard filter up at the closest end first, then pull it out. The outboard one is easy; just slide to the center and lift out. Just reverse the procedure with the new filter elements. It takes a bit of grunting but quite doable. I have a 2008 ML550 with the multi-CD changer in the glove box, so did not want to go that route.

      How do you pry up the two clips? I think I found where to go under the hood to replace the filter ( I see the air intake on the passenger side) but those metal clips don't look like they're meant to come undone.

    On the 2012 MB ML350 there is one extra big Torx screw underneath the glove box the T27 I think? and one extra T20 torx screw on the top right hand side, kind of where you take out the other big torx screw. you also must disconnect one wiring harness on the right hand side in order to remove the glove box.

      I should have read this post 2 hours ago after I watched the video and tried to replace my filters in a 2012 ML350. Ditto on your post! I figured it out after squeezing under the box and seeing the screw! I would also add that its a total of 6 T20's and 2 T27's - then 2 socket connections and 1 air hose to disconnect. And make sure that you reconnect the air hose first and use a new pull tie to secure it when you re-seat the glove box.

      +George Draper yeah I felt your frustration after it took me about two hours to figure it all out and get it done. but I couldn't bring myself to pay the dealership the 150$ or whatever to buy and replace it for me.

      BTW - while i had the glove box out and replaced the 2 filters, i noticed that there was a third filter as well. It was located on the back wall which led me to open the hood and remove the 2 plastic covers and there it was - A 166 830 02 18 air filter. And now I see why others have said that it is easier to replace all of them by going through the engine compartment rather than removing the glove box. I feel like an idiot right now but i'll get over it. YMMV

    I replaced mine much more easily through the hood side of the car. No screws and done in 3 minutes. I have a 2007 ML 350.

      Hello sir, I have same year ML 350 and when I move the cover from hood side I see a filter, but how can I take it out?

    • @franklopezii5150
      @franklopezii5150 8 років тому +1

      +timmykang1 I saw the same thing but I went the glovebox route. I believe just push them in toward the cab then pull up on the first one, then slide the other one toward the middle and remove, then do the reverse to place the new ones.

    Yep this is the 500$ way MBz do it to make $. Well the fast and ethical way is to just pop the hood undo the latches and pull out/replace 10mins walah.

      John Yon you dont have to even go through inside of vehicle. open hood and on right side there is a box.-- if you unclip that you can remove filters through there--take 30 seconds

  • @JohnnyK1

    What is going on here? Is it about ML350? Cabin air filter in ML350 can be replaced from the hood. There are only two clips on the plastic cover, and not even a screwdriver is needed. In my case it was 2007 ML350. And two minutes work.

    • @filterheads
      @filterheads  7 років тому

      This video was made to show the dealer specified installation procedure for every vehicle this filter fits. The ML350 may have additional access under the hood but not every model will. Thank you for watching!
