I worked at a dealership several years ago and saw them charge a young lady over $120 to replace the in cabin filter. From that day on, I tell every Camry owner to do it themselves by watching videos like yours!!!
We all know that dealerships are the biggest crooked. Who checks &, balances them? ( No one!, because people believe in them so much(100%), nothing like an excellent honest shade tree mechanic 😅
Thanks, the greedy Toyota care dealer was charging over $220 + tax to change both. I paid $24 at Amazon and changed it myself. Not only did I save, but I learned to do something new.
Thank you for your video! It was quick and easy to replace...and I didn't have to pay the dealership! You saved me money and gave me confidence. What you're doing is important!
I use only OEM replacements, cabin was 15. and engine was 18. STP, always point arrows up, and never pile crap in glove box, reduces air fan, Thanks for sharing because ,I never knew the cabin filter had a filter holder, I just slide filter in 2014.5xlecamry
Thanks for info. On the cabin air filter, I suggest using needle nose pliers to squeeze the inner tabs on the right side to release. Then simply pull plastic to the right, so that it releases from the left side hinges.
The maf doesn't literally just clip off and the other two clips don't either, u have to push a lil tab and lift and or pull. You have to tell these good people how to actually do it, nothing just literally snaps off, the cabin air filter was on point with your instructions, thanks man
Thank you for the video. I was always scratching my head when it came to trying to access the filters, but your instructions made me figure it out in less than 5 minutes.
@@VIPDCUSTOMS they do but you have to be reasonable when you charge - a filter shouldn't cost that much unless it had some special feature that set it apart from the rest
I can’t believe my mechanic wanted to charge $100 to replace my cabin filter today. I heard that they’re easy to replace so I declined. Thank you for your video
My friend you saved me almost a whooping $250 today of September 5,2022 Labor Day. They changing my 2019 Toyota Camry oil at $94 and this dude (dealership) said I need engine filter and total cost will be $370.
After hearing a rattle sound when I turn on air, I went to change the cabin filter and it was torn and loaded with acorns!!! I’m worried that there are more acorns in the cabin area. Guess I need to make an appointment!! But this video was spot on! Thanks
Car owners should learn these basic maintenance including engine oil. I think auto trans filter/oil, brake maintenance and other advance work should be for the shops.
This video is about somebody learning how to change engine and cabin filter. He figures it out, in the end, and we learn with him. That said, the second cover for the cabin filter has two tabs, one on the left and one on the right. He only pushed the one on the right and then yanked the cover, which could damage the other tab. You first push the inner tab (left), then the right tab, and don't have to yank out anything.
Thanks for the info. I just changed cabin filter-I would suggest using needle nose pliers to squeeze the right sides inner tabs. Then no tool needed on the left tab, just pull plastic to the right away from hinges.
It’s part of the maintenance you do on the car , my vehicle already has 20k miles , you suppose to change the filters at every oil change or every 2 oil changes
Can you please do a video on high mount brake light replacement on 2018 Toyota Camry. Can’t find any thing on UA-cam for this replacement. Thanks for all you do. William C Mpls Mn
I've been wanting to buy the fog lights that you have for the camry, but I've seen reviews that they turn on by themselves when the car is off. Have you had this problem? And what are your thoughts on this?
Yes , mine do the same , the DRL turn on here and there but for 3-5 seconds and turn off . Doesn’t really do anything mechanical as it’s leds but yes they do
Super Tech cabin air filter is $10.97 at Walmart. (06/11/21) You may find one online but if you pay less, it will likely be made in China. Super Tech us made in USA.
Just got my 2024 Camry se anyone know where I can buy a cheap engine air filter and cabin air filter? I’m staying away from dealerships lol Note add that parts numbers also hehhe
K&N is a waste of money. You have to get the oil level on the filter just right. Can't be too much, can't be too little or else you just have the equivalent of a normal paper air filter. Also, they let more dirt by. They don't tell you that part, they only tell you about the air. But it's true, they flow better because they're cotton but they let more dirt from the air into your engine. Which over the life of the car, does matter. Some people keep their cars for 8 to 10 years, they just take good care of them and make them last. Some people keep them even longer. So you need to know that K&N isn't all upside. There are definitely disadvantages to them. Which is why I just stick with a good quality oem style paper air filter. Like Wix brand, or even the house brand of your dealer.
@@travissnyder8277 That's wrong. Cotton flows more air, which makes a total of 1% more particulate passing through the filter. Over the lifespan of the engine, that's a lot. Some people actually take care of their vehicles, and make them last 10 or more years. Which means that 1% over that much time makes for more engine wear. For people like me, that ain't good.
You really don't need to unplug anything. Just Un clip the 2 clips & raise it enough to remove the old filter & add the new one. Btw I have a 20 ES & engine air filter looks identical.
That's how a lazy person does it. Then you have to creep the filter out and creep the new filter in. Just undo the sensor, sensor clips, and lift it up like the guy in the video. Takes 3 more seconds and you don't have to risk cracking plastic.
I worked at a dealership several years ago and saw them charge a young lady over $120 to replace the in cabin filter. From that day on, I tell every Camry owner to do it themselves by watching videos like yours!!!

How often do I change both air filters? For a 2020 toyota camry se?
Every 6months to a year
How do you know which air filter model to buy , I have a 2014 Camry

I've owned a 2020 Camry for about 2 months now and looking it over, it seems Toyota went out of their way to make the car easy to maintain.

The ones with carbon so eliminates more debris

TRD spoiler no , I have a duckbill
Thanks for the video! How often do you need to change the filters ? And where did you purchase them from?
On amazon or advanced auto parts and some people change them every 5k miles or every oil change really depends on the person
Toyota recommends every 10k in the maintenance schedule
Yeah I won’t wait 10k miles to change oil or filters , cheap preventative maintenance
Depends I’m not a tire expert could be priced according to the tire
