One little baby tip for “changing game categories”
I usually will do an five minute break, gives me time to prep and change the category to adjust my game title ,settings, etc. 💪🏼 I failed many times to change my game category before so I understand! Haha! Much love! digging that mustache!

Great vid as always! Super appreciate the clarity on the 13 year old age thing and having a parent nearby. I've got a few cousins that occasionally like to watch that are right on the line with that, so knowing that they're fine as long as there's a parent with them saves me an awkward conversation at the next family gathering as to why I had to ban them 😅

the mature filter is 100% purely cosmetic as far as i can tell from my personal experience as a twitch viewer/mod/streamer and also according to my prior research into the matter, including sifting through the TOS specifically looking into this (early this year or late last year). i could not find a single mention or reference to it in the TOS or community guidelines. the rules are the rules regardless
Haven't watched it all yet, but I didn't know that apparently "sniping" is against tos. I actually had someone snipe me and I banned and reported them when I found that out. I hate reading tos because it's kinda vague sometimes and I'm not 100% sure what it means so this video will help a lot

The wrong category is my biggest annoyance when I go onto streams for new people. I see it all the time with twitch affiliate streamers too.

when it comes to the whole age thing it is better to just ban age talk all together even if someone is over 13 or even a adult. it conforms to TOS and protects chat. have the same rule on my discord too.

@@xTwoShoes just mainly something i do because the last thing i want is anyone in my community being hurt and like i can't control minors watching my stream, i can't control creeps watching either.

Hi! I have a quick question about the "Exchanging Things of Value" part. 50 subs is pretty steep for sure, but why would offering a 10-minute play together session in exchange be considered as a service of monetary value when it won't cost the streamer money?
Additionally, I'm from the Vtuber community and common sub rewards are "I'll draw art of you." and "I'll commission X kind of art of my vtuber." Would either of these be against TOS? Especially for art streamers, wouldn't it be considered a free art commission and therefore something of monetary value? 🤔
So like for the monetary thing, if my viewers pop close to a hype train am I able to extend my stream an extra one hour or so for that or for maybe choosing a specific character for a cost? (I usually do channel points for this one but I’ve seen others use donations)
Imo I think this sounds ok but for example if you were to say, ok I’m going to give away a game code if someone drops 10 subs on this hype train wouldn’t be ok!
xTwoShoes can you go more into detail regarding talking about things on twitch if the stream is set to mature (18+) most of my friends are set to mature and they are worried about talking about things like breast things, or like today my friend was talking about Carnival (brazilian event) (he was set to mature) but he was trying to talk about pasties without mentioning they're pasties, can you go into detail about what can and can not be talked about if you're set to mature/18+ so that it's out there, there aren't many videos covering the topic and a lot of mature streamers are unsure about it.
What if you in game chat and people are saying some tos stuff is that allowed
Warn them and if they continue, ban them:)

Nope! There is a lot more in the full terms of service. These are just some points I think that are worth noting:) Do have a read of the full TOS found on Twitch's website if you are unsure:)

i talked to a global mod once (i believe it was moocat) and asked whether i'd be obligated to ban viewers who claim to be under 13yo. the answer was no because banning them does not prevent them from watching the stream. if staff or global mods do find someone they have to though. maybe this has changed. do you perhaps have a source where i can look this up? anything explicitly stating that i as the streamer HAVE to take action? thanks ♥
Perhaps I understood some research wrong then, but I do know that dealing with underage users online this way is inline with COPA (Child Online Protection Act). I do think that since Twitch states that users should not be 13 or under, I perhaps misunderstood this, but Ill do some more digging and see to be sure. Thank you for your comment though!
Even one year ago when this video was published Twitch was a highly competitive platform. These conditions are ripe for entrepreneurial risk-takers to disrupt the market and as such, they'll have an advantage if you aren't taking risks against the TOS that they happily will. I'm not saying that purposefully breaking TOS is a good strategy for gaining market advantage. I'm just saying that people will try to do it and it will and does create problems for the platform.

One question about the Exchanging Things of Value: Can I add "high stakes" to a game e.g. If can't beat this level in 10 minutes I'm gonna gift a sub to the community BUT if I beat this level in 10 minutes you all have to give me your PrimeGaming?
I've seen other (larger) streamers do that and was wondering how TOS would fit into that?
Personally I am not 100% sure of that. I will look into it, but my gut feeling is that it's not quite ethical. Perhaps not breaking TOS but my own personal view is that if someone wants to give you their Prime, they will, regardless of the wager:)
@@xTwoShoes Fair. I just do high stakes to add a bit more to the channel point predictions. As of now I just use the flaming hot jelly beans as "currency". It's fun and gets chat a tad more engaged imho. I was just wondering about the prime thingy since I saw others do that!
can you be copy righed claimed from games not trailers off games i mean game mosic in game or like in game music
A lot of games have a "streamer mode" That will replace the game sound track with safe music:)

it get you banned on any platform even youtube as well . i remember when my friend played heavy rain he got copy right flagged not copyright but flagged because the girl showed her boobs when she was taking shower .

see this is why I did not want to join the twitch affiliate program my community grows by me multi-streaming at the same time with twitch and youtube thi sis why i will not be partner as well because i am well known as that one guy who multi-stream on youtube and twitches lol .and people asked me how i did it and what is the secret i told them and they never comeback its like viewers use you how do you deal with viewers who just used you and only wanted to get a streamer tip how do you live stream or what equipment you have or going live at the same time as you and doing better than you . because this happened too me a lot now when I come back to streaming I know too keep my mouth shut and not tell anyone anything i see why some streamers keep some things too themselves selfs like having a vertical webcam or cool animated overlays I remember vertical facecam is popular now everyone in 2019 wanted took now how too do it someone told the secret i am using the vertical facecam. this happens to a lot users come in then want too be friends too you or a good one regular supports you pretend too be friends with you joining games i help this kid he wanted to be popular on twitch so i used too let him in my games he would steel my content and use it against me and he would even sometimes copyright claim my videos or streams saying there his voice in my party chat this might be the last time i might play with viewers as well i know why people only play with the same people they trust. this is another reason why i left twitch in 2019 moved back too youtube the viewers are diffrent on youtube compair too twitch .
