picked this up on steam sales, best $15 ever spent. Been wanting a a wipeout style pc game for ages, can't believe this flew under my radar till the sales recently!
@Sonic the Artist If the people who made this game didn't want it going on sale, don't you think they would've prevented it from going on sale? Sorry that people try to save money where possible lmao
@Dorellus ThaGod BallisticNG costs peanuts and has more content than any of the original trilogy combined. That's not to mention the huge amount of community content available for free.
What the hell even is this track? It barely starts, and you're flying through the air where the track probably was at some point in time, suddenly you're basically in a void flying what seems to be miles from one part of track to another, all while rolling because the next part of the track is at a different angle... and then FUCKIN PORTALS? I love it. I'd probably die of a damn heart explosion trying it, but it's fun to watch.
As much as I hate their ship designs and lack of customization & unlocks, they really nailed the tracks, music and sense of speed, and the visual style is simple yet interesting / modern looking.
Awesome. The one thing that I DON'T like about this game though is that sometimes hitting the walls/barriers is the best tactic. It ruins the flow of the game a bit for be. I'd love a smooth clean run and be able to maintain the same laptimes as when the walls are hit. Also an action replay feature would be nice and is long overdue.
As far as I know, the devs have said no to a replay system. The passive power up mS (magnetic stabilizer) has actually become quite viable since 1.5 as well, so smooth driving without hitting walls is actually a good idea on some tracks. Otherwise, wallbouncing isn't all that bad compared to wallgrinding (what we had in 1.4)
I doesn't look very smooth though. The exhilaration and flow kinda ends every time the walls are clipped. Well.. that's my opinion. It's an awesome game that's pretty much all about smoothness and flow, but at times actually encourages wall bumping to get the fast times. Me no like :/ Oh well.. nothing is perfect I suppose. Great game anyway
@@RedFoxRoaming When you come from the WipE'out" school of "Walls are the plauge" Redout's attitude to wallriding is rather off-putting for me, because so long as you're able to not die, you could comfortably platinum nearly every event without much fuss, no matter how unclean it looked. This may have changed since I last played in 2016.
With how long the switch version is taking, I hope they add all the DLC to it as one package when it does release (although it seems unlikely), mostly since I think the DLC is almost better than the base game. Awesome control on those difficult parts though, especially SpaceWalk!
What I don't like about Redout vs Wipeout, in Redout you always collide with the barriers where as in Wipeout the ships feel more maneuverable and you are almost everytime able to avoid collisions. Well without slowing down that much.
You could very much be able of getting top speeds with the magnetic stabilizer passive and braking more on tight corners, that's what instagib mode tries to make you do, but when you're going balls in with the speed you do need walls to guide you, the "bullet" like with a gun's barrel. With this said I still find it a big shame that instagib isn't a modifier you can apply to another game mode just like how boss tracks are restricted to just being a 2-lap race. You can't play an instagib boss in a no-respawn, 16 cars 25min endurance and that's kinda sad.
Next location: Fantasy. The Vertex Training Simulator's source code got leaked onto the future equivalent of 4chan and their digital artists, musicians, and software engineers collectively put a ton of creative whimsy into a heavily modified "fantasy" version of the simulator... just for fun, of course. The SRRL officials caught wind of this and liked it so much that they ended up buying it, and it went through some professional tweaking before being officially added to the League.
Oh. My. God. I started playing this game recently. Only reached tier 2 races so far, and I'm already freaking out at the level designs. Seeing the jumps on the track in this video made me rethink my life decisions... and pee'd myself a little bit. Send help.
@ApteryxTheRainWing Chillout, I made the jab because I think Redout is cool, but WipeOut is the seminal game of that genre. Plus WipeOut at least has a plausible future (should have anti-grav racing by 2048), where Redout is complete and utter fantasy...
During the Mars update, the walls had very little friction that lead to a meta of wallgrinding to get the fastest times. Now the walls have a tonne of friction compared to then, but the meta still involves wallbounces for most turns
@@Joltout ah dude you a tester now! That’s dope! Your the reason why I even bought the enhanced edition on Xbox one. The since of speed was like a drug, got all the achievements, except the online race ones, wish redout had a bigger population, it’s a underrated gem of a racer 🔥

That's because Redout has a dynamic soundtrack that reacts to the conditions during the race.

Whoa, I've never seen this game before, but I'm gonna look into it! What a beast of a track though!

It's a boss event, making a lap out of all the tracks in one world via the use of teleporters.
The game looks amazing thank you for this
Was gonna comment how the speed at first nearly made me pass out.. but can we please talk about this AMAZING in sync music. 😍

This track along with the music is a vibe. I love this game so much because it reminds me of F zero and Wipeout.

Agreed, encouraging unclean driving by design is a head scratcher and off-putting.
Wall riding used to be super overpowered, they changed it a few years ago (I think before this comment) to slow you down a lot more than it used to
Wow, this world looks like the best in the game so far. The tracks on moon are super cool.
Weird that wind resistance is a thing (limiting top speed and shaking the car, you can also hear it) but yeah, still best world even with speed cap.
