Stuff like baggy jeans, fitted caps, oversized basketball jerseys, etc. Every single name on the shipping addresses was either a Mexican name or an Asian name, who couldn't wait to get my old, used 90s clothes that they overpaid me for and cosplay being BLACK AMERICAN!!!

If you live a state or a region with a high level of diversity you will see the commonality that binds Latinos and the ethnic differences. For instance there a quite a few Mexicans of Asian descent who speak fluent Spanish and have been assimilated into Mexican culture. There is a sizeable population of African Mexicans living in the carribean part of Mexico and few of them have migrated to the united states. I live in Southern California and that one racial group within that culture doesn't fly. Maybe where you are from that is the train of thought but not where I live.

Most FBAs don't have the luxury of swallowing it whole without question as other people from other groups usually do. Take for example the cult of the confederacy which is mainstream in the US and elsewhere in the west. Since they are NOT being targeted, most non black people in the US no matter their origins simply don't see it at all.. Most black Americans find the worship of a culture which was based on defending race based chattel slavery to be extremely offensive. I say this because this video alone, was the first time I heard anyone say EXACTLY what my Granny and me would discuss on a regular. Also, in my studies, I found a HISTORY of so-called "marginalized groups" ALWAYS using us as a stepping stool to try and get ahead stemming as far back as the 1900's. Many don't know that it was Black women who actually started the first women's sufferage movement. Ancient Egypt was isolated from most other societies for most of its existence. It was old and alien to both, Greece and Rome even when they came to control it centuries after it came into being. All of those civilizations on different continents developed independently and at different time periods with lots of rises and falls during those thousands of years.. And there is no evidence of any one racial, cultural or language group with a superiority ideology and matching agendas dominating the world prior to the European invasions which began in the 1400s.
When I watch their movies I see them being adequately represented but black americans are stuck in a stereotype. If you look at how many various movies are out there between hispanic and black american in the USA you'll learn that they have more than us, especially when they either get to play us or are featured in our shows. We don't have a lot of family and hard work stories that are shown. We're supposed to be happy being drug dealers, hoes and pimps without family but in their movies that's one of their main situations. Our stories are very similar, but the world will never know cuz it's never shown.
Were Hispanics subjected to Jim Crow? I don't remember seeing them riding in the back of the bus, or strung up on trees. And I've never seen any pictures of them picking cotton or tobacco.

@HoopCITY76 it not treated as a race only to those who aren't familiar with the culture. If you live a state or a region with a high level of diversity you will see the commonality that binds Latinos and the ethnic differences. For instance there a quite a few Mexicans of Asian descent who speak fluent Spanish and have been assimilated into Mexican culture. There is a sizeable population of African Mexicans living in the carribean part of Mexico and few of them have migrated to the united states. I live in Southern California and that one racial group within that culture doesn't fly. Maybe where you are from that is the train of thought but not where I live.

American culture is steeped in anti-black racism at all levels. Most FBAs don't have the luxury of swallowing it whole without question as other people from other groups usually do.
Take for example the cult of the confederacy which is mainstream in the US and elsewhere in the west. Since they are NOT being targeted, most non black people in the US no matter their origins simply don't see it at all..
Most black Americans find the worship of a culture which was based on defending race based chattel slavery to be extremely offensive. And the fact that it is still mainstreamed by many people at all levels of American society as a legitimation of one of the worse nightmares in human history. And then you have the very same people who are celebrating the confederacy demanding that black people ignore and/or accept that insult, but join them and others in a moral crusade for Gaza, Ukraine, etc.
I would need a super computer to present all of the examples of this sort of thing both in the US and internationally whenever white people interact with black people because it is so prevalent. And this is generations after the so called civil rights and decolonization movements.

Ancient Egypt was isolated from most other societies for most of its existence. It was old and alien to both, Greece and Rome even when they came to control it centuries after it came into being. All of those civilizations on different continents developed independently and at different time periods with lots of rises and falls during those thousands of years.. And there is no evidence of any one racial, cultural or language group with a superiority ideology and matching agendas dominating the world prior to the European invasions which began in the 1400s.
When I watch their movies I see them being adequately represented but black americans are stuck in a stereotype. If you look at how many various movies are out there between hispanic and black american in the USA you'll learn that they have more than us, especially when they either get to play us or are featured in our shows. We don't have a lot of family and hard work stories that are shown. We're supposed to be happy being drug dealers, hoes and pimps without family but in their movies that's one of their main situations. Our stories are very similar, but the world will never know cuz it's never shown.
Were Hispanics subjected to Jim Crow? I don't remember seeing them riding in the back of the bus, or strung up on trees. And I've never seen any pictures of them picking cotton or tobacco.
Jim crow was easier on Latinos and others. Black people were the primary targets and any superficial reading of legal documents going back to it's origins shows that.

@@ladyboule My source is well known history. We got Florida from the Spanish, we took Texas, California, Nevada and New Mexico from Mexico. Ten states have Spanish names as well as many major cities. Los Angeles means angels in Spanish, Las Vegas means the meadows in Spanish.
