I love how you can see the top of the quarry (presumably) when the explosion goes off, 1:57. All part of the low budget charm.
That archer sure hit The Sontaran Linx's weak spot of that small vent on the back of the neck with good accuracy.

I'm not against Strax at all, it's a family show after all, but I do agree that he is currently giving the Sontarans a bad reputation. It would be nice to see them come back every few seasons with a story of their own to show just how dangerous they really are.

Ironically, The Sarah Jane Adventures actually handled the Sontarans better then New Who.
He's not giving them a bad reputation. That's the problem. He's giving them a good one!

This Doctor Who story has some of the funniest dialogue. At one point Irongron says that the Doctor sounds like a "Norman ninny," lol.

I loved this story!, the debut of the Sontarans, one of my most favorite enemies of the series, and Sarah Jane Smith, one of the best companions Doctor who ever had in my opinion, and of course written by Robert Holmes!, who produced most of the all-time best stories for Doctor Who EVER!!!!, i shall never grow tired of it, and watch it for the rest of my life, cos it's sci-fi (and british tv) at it's best!!!!
This was the only episode my mom allowed my dad to show me when I was 6-years-old, it’s still one of my favorites
No matter how advanced CGI gets, nothing can beat the beauty of these special effects. Love this stuff!
Christopher Wilkerson My thoughts exactly. Real effects are far more exhilarating and believable. Not that CG can't be done well; it most certainly can be, but CGI is not a substitute for real props and effects. CGI is still, at the end of the day, just a form of animation. Animation can be great, but it's just not the same as real effects.

Everyone one always complains about CGI like it’s synonymous with bad storytelling but it’s really not
@@harryturner8701 there's good to both. It's ok for people to feel nostalgic and appreciate the new as well. No one in their right mind would expect a show from 2021 to appear the same as a show from 1960/70s tv. They can conjure up good memories from the time they first enjoyed the original. Have a coke, okie-doke!

The Time Warrior is the story that introduced the name of The Docto‘s home planet & was the 1st story to show the diamond logo.

The Doctor should've informed UNIT that the Sontarans' weak spot is the small vent behind their neck after defeating Lynx.

I wish I could find this episode uploaded somewhere. I don't wanna have to order the whole DVD set just to watch it a few times. It is one of the better Pertwee stories though.
I think the acting is quite good despite what Docthewrench says. Most stuff on TV nowdays is crap !

I believe the actual name is 'Aikido'.
It was initially called "Venusian karate," but it was changed to "Aikido" because they decided "karate" sounded too violent for the Doctor.
As a matter of fact, I always agree with the word Venusian aikido.

Kevin Lindsay, the original Sontaran. He even came up with the pronunciation of Sontaran. He passed away about 18 months after this.
The Sontarans in the classic series look much scarier than they do in new Who.

Love Doctor who but the acting back then was horrible, but most movies made in Europe were extremely badly acted up until the last dozen years. Goes for most parts of the world who didnt understand how to act until the middle 1980s. But doesnt mean I dont love a lot of the goofiness of the acting.
What? No crying? No kissing? Or EPIC music over powering everything else? Or shakey camera angles with strobe edits, heavy colour palette, CGI Cartoon FX, or perhaps a PC Black Gay Girlpower tight skirted 15 year old bimbo in a wheelchair ready to save the day? It can only be true British Science Fiction called Doctor Who! The real show!
