The auto companies don't make vehicles that good any longer, and it is so easy to do damage while changing bulbs, oil, transmission fluid, or receiving damage from hail storms. I have a 1999 Ford Explorer and have had it since 2000 and it have been through many hail storms without any damage to the vehicle. I also have two much newer Ford's and both of them was damaged at home in a hail storm, but not my Explorer. I was in my truck which was damaged at the time, along with my Escape SUV.
Ditto. My Grand Am is a late 1990's design and was much better designed. Three 921 (now 912) bulbs in the third brake light alone. The original factory bulbs lasted five years and 160k miles with 60k miles of being abused. The replacement 912 bulbs lasted as long despite having a shorter service life rating and being used for some crazy stop and go driving. Even the taillight circuit board can be changed out with a cheap replacement TYC (never a Dorman board) from Rockauto for $15. And there are two brake lights and two turn signal lights behind each lens not one. And no risk of breaking the tail light lens when changing anything.
Easy fix at an affordable cost. Just had a 2010 Avalon with the center light out. My customer was told by Toyota it was a $400 repair. It turns out it isn't a bulb but a LED lamp assembly and the rear seat and shelf has to come out to change it. My customer said he would risk a ticket...

Sam Rugtiv Thank you, appreciate your comment. The very best to you this holiday season.
Jim I'm having a problem so the light works when I turn my lights on but when I press the brake pedal the light turns off
Same here
Probably should have went ahead and replaced the driver's side too. If the other ones burned out then it's not far behind.
