    Outstanding as usual.....I still think you should consider approaching the Discovery channel with an idea centered around what you have here and in your archives.
    Ever considered setting up the camera so respected viewers can see you go over the tech info?

    I work in a welding shop in Edmonton Alberta and we just finished a 21 yard bucket for one of these beasts, biggest bucket I've worked on to date, gave me a little perspective to the sheer size of these massive machines.

    • @PAmining
      @PAmining  6 років тому

      Oh yeah. Especially seeing a bucket for one inside a welding shop gives a real good indication of their size.

    • @martymartin2894
      @martymartin2894 4 місяці тому

      The bucket looks small in comparison to the huge size of the machine.

    Great video. Would like to see this beast working. The power compartment you said can be lifted out in one piece. Is this a new concept and is it a good idea. Does it benfit the owner to buy into the idea?
    The quality of your videos have improved. Thanks for taking the time to put quality onto your productions. Well done my friend.

      Lynd Gemberling Search my Channel, I have a video of this machine loading trucks. The power module idea on big machines has been around for decades now, however it made it's first appearance on the 13-15yd class machines that were converted over from a twin engine design in the early to mid-2000s. Power modules existed on the older twin engine machines, but you can imagine how large and clunky they were to transport. Hitachi was the first, replacing the EX1800-3 with the EX1900-5 which featured a single engine power module. Komatsu followed in 2007 with it's PC2000-8. Now Caterpillar has come out with the 6020 which resembles both of these machines with its ease of maintenance design. Thank your for your comment! I do realize I have come a long way with my videos, and I still enjoy producing them for my fans!

    beautiful machine.
    was wondering, do you guys have any RH400's over there? i operated one briefly when my school had a thing going where we'd have to spend a week in a job related to the profession we were going for. and i got a spot in an iron mine. got to operate an RH400 front shovel, a Cat 785, and a Cat 992k. would love to see you do a documentary on one of those shovels, if there's one nearby.

    • @PAmining
      @PAmining  9 років тому

      Midas Imperius There are no RH400's in the U.S that I am aware of. I believe all the ones operating in North America are in Canada

    How many hours of operation does one tank of fuel provide?

  • @kenwelch6984
    @kenwelch6984 Рік тому

    Hey PAmining...I have maybe a silly question...I've always wanted to know why...but never asked when I was working with excavators...especially big ones like this...question is, why are the boom cylinders hung upside down, well cane either way but to me they are upside down lol...

    • @PAmining
      @PAmining  Рік тому

      That is to prevent rock dust built-up on the seals. I will be doing a short to discuss this as it's a very popular question! Thanks!

    So since I run a little Hitachi ex120 could I run one of these machines because they are the same controls?

    • @PAmining
      @PAmining  9 років тому +1

      Bubbles Samsquanch Sure, the controls are the same, but this is a totally different animal than an EX120. Running a machine is one thing, anyone can run something. To be a good smooth operator of one of this big machines takes skill.

    • @bubblessamsquanch6478
      @bubblessamsquanch6478 9 років тому
