I will never credit to one single musician as the greatest, but Zakk is one of them. Now I'm an infantrymen and I met Zakk at a show after my last tour and I can truthfully say the man has respect for a soldier and pain in his heart for the fallen, his dad was a soldier, and that is why Zakk is so awesome, his understanding of mankind. Never forget our fallen brother DIME.
I am in total agreement! That cd has so many great songs! He shifts from Troubled Wine to Horse Called War, then there is Sweet Jesus, going to Losin' Your Mind, and Cry Me a River then the bonus cd with some killer remakes. Zakk blows my mind over and over on the Pride & Glory. Man, we need more of that!
The man just wanted to shred and share the shredness with the world. From a parking lot to a music store with pickup Joe’s, he just is a light that wants to shine.
i freakin' LOVE this song... Zakk is the greatest! Wish Pride & Glory will reunite in the future, I would love to see Zakk play that stuff live again...
I dunno if I said it before on this vid, but eh... I'll clear things up again. This is Rock Around the Bay '97 in Tokyo. Zakk Wylde, Steve Vai, and Motley Crue played this show. Wylde was on the bill as "Zakk Wylde", not P&G or anything. Zakk played a combination of Pride and Glory tunes and Book of Shadows tunes. Yes, that is Nick on rhythm. No, I'm not quite sure who the bass player is. Oh, and yes, that's Gilbert Gottfried on drums.
I love Zakk. But I miss the hard southern rock style of the Pride and Glory days. I think that angry biker music thing just kinda all sound the same song after song. I would love to see Zakk and the band get back to to "there roots" if you will.
Don't give trolls any time.... Zakk is so fuckin' badass it's unreal. One of the best musicians of our time without a doubt. Not only can he shred like nobody else, he can quiet down and play classical or blues or whatever he wants. Dude sat in for Dickey Betts for the Allman Brothers on no notice! Check out his version of Dee. I saw him in OKC a week or two ago, and I haven't seen a solo near as crazy since EVH in 86. Zakk Rules! SDMF!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@mrkrinkle71 Dude, Zakk still plays songs. Wow, man, he plays acoustic all the time at BLS concerts. This is Pride & Glory a long time ago, but Zakk Wylde is the lead vocalist and lead guitar player of BLS to. He plays every song, though Nick Cantanese plays a mean solo to, he plays back up and rhythem more. Zakk Wylde is still an amazing guitar player, I love the new album. But, hey that's my opinion. I've been following him for years.
I don't think theres a DVD of Pride & Glory, I'm a big Zakk fan and I've looked everywhere for one. There are a couple of BLS DVD's though that have some Pride and Glory songs on them.
How can this be a reunion show for pride and glory? No Brian Tichy, no James Lomenzo? I don't think this is much of a reunion without those guys, great song off the Pride and Glory album though!
Your right it's not Pride & Glory. It's Zakk's solo band featuring Nick Catanese, Ian Mayo, and Brock Avery. These people on here thinking it's Pride & Glory are idiots and are not real die hard fans of Zakk.
Probably, but this isn't BLS, this is a reunion show for Pride and Glory. But I guess it is Cantese, since they formed BLS in 1998, when this show was taped.
Let's put it this way then, back in pride and glory days zakk/they still seemed to be able to put out songs with some kind of idea to them, rhythmically and melodically in other words: They had something to say. Some of the newer songs seem to be results of just strumming around, without much more to them. Seems like theyre running out of steam..
My dude started Black Label as a craft brewery/whiskey themed band and struck gold when he switched to the biker shit around the time Sons Of Anarchy blew up. I do miss bellbottoms and beer Zakk. 🤘🏻🤘🏻

This rules. That Pride & Glory record kills 🤘🏼
agree 100 percent!

I'm still listening to it. 2023
That's some pretty insane playing there Zakk Wylde. Pride and Glory is a sick record.
This is the Zakk Wylde that I love!
The man just wanted to shred and share the shredness with the world. From a parking lot to a music store with pickup Joe’s, he just is a light that wants to shine.
i freakin' LOVE this song... Zakk is the greatest!

It's Zakk Wylde solo, not P&G. It's Zakk, Nick Catanese on rhthym, Ian Mayo on bass, and Brock Avery on drums. This was 1997.

Still Waitin for a new P&G album...anyone else interested in how it would sound?
I love Zakk. But I miss the hard southern rock style of the Pride and Glory days.

Chris Roque huge fan of BLS and it is cool to listen to pride and glory every now and then.
I totally agree with you. Love BLS but I was raised on Southern Rock so I loved Pride and Glory. Want more of it
NO ONE IS COOLER THEN ZACH ON STAGE..PERIOD..!!!!
maaan, pride and glory was one beast of a band. Zakks greatest songs are on this album. This and Troubled Wine are my favorite
Zakk wylde 90% shred 10% cool hats
Troubled wine has been my favorit Zakk song for aages... brutal as fuck !
Wow, a video from ancient times of YT birth! :) awesome

the KING!!!
I think this is from the Book of Shadows Tour. Nick was already part of his band these days
All I remember is seeing something about a reunion show for P&G in 1998, and this show was in 1998 I believe they played P&G songs.
Pride & Glory!!! Awesome! Thanks for posting.
right on man it would be fuckin awesome to have a P&G t shirt
Zakk is the fuckin definition of bad ass
Zakk was alone and without Ozzy and he was promoting his own solo album.. he was opening the concert and all the band was unknown at the time...
this was before it all got to big!!awsome love it all but this older stuff just cool.......very real hard rock!no costumes an raw!!!
I think he should play both... play with BLS his heavy style and with pride and glory still that southern style...that would be amazing
that so is Catanese, he joined Zakk on the Book of Shadows tour and stayed with him since
Who is the drummer? He looks like someone's Dad has stepped in, but I love his style and his snare sound kills.
This guy makes rock fun once more!
Who is playing second guitar on this video anybody know??????
It's actually James LoMenzo who is now in Megadeth
no dude i read something about this gig, this was kind of a one show reunion
I don't think theres a DVD of Pride & Glory, I'm a big Zakk fan and I've looked everywhere for one. There are a couple of BLS DVD's though that have some Pride and Glory songs on them.

Zakk 20 pounds ago.
Lmao I love Zakk but this was hilarious!
No more like 40 pounds but it doesnt matter his sound was so good back then! Now he just sound like any other metal player.
I don't know who the drummer is but I believe the other guitarist is Nick Cantanese. Nick has been with him for a while I could be mistaken though
@ZStomp It is Nick
Dear Chris,
I am a biker, - my favourite Zakk is his acoustic.....just saying....(I agree with everything else you said, by the way
Yeah man it happens to me too

On fire !
and i think this live version is better than the version on the album
Couldn't agree more.
Is that B.L.S nick on guitar? with long hair. Anywoo cool vid love the Pride & Glory stuff.
I think you'll find that Ian Mayo played with Zakk on Zakk's solo tour in Japan and James has blonde hair...
O YES ZAKK IS GOD
Cool song
Great
I TOTALLY hear you on that Mldiesel114 !!!!!!!!!
amazing. perfect. I havent noticed a single mistake.
Yep Ryan me too...
It sure is, needed a double take but damned if that isn't Nick. Think it was the Black Crowes outfit that threw me LOL!
ya sounds right
How can this be a reunion show for pride and glory? No Brian Tichy, no James Lomenzo? I don't think this is much of a reunion without those guys, great song off the Pride and Glory album though!

Easily zakks best work here, awesome shredding but with melody and a lot of thought.
ZACK KICKS ASS!
@ZStomp Positive
Qual nome e ano desse show?
lomenzo was in bls for a while and catanese has been in bls all it's time. I think bls sounded better with lomenzo than with it's present bassist
think it is Pride & Glory
This was on the book of shadows tour wasn't it?
Nah, Pride & Glory.
@eagle13445 If you find tell me, i'll take 2
HIs image is totally different now. He's got a darker edge.
My dude started Black Label as a craft brewery/whiskey themed band and struck gold when he switched to the biker shit around the time Sons Of Anarchy blew up.
I do miss bellbottoms and beer Zakk. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
