I always like lighting a cigar with soft flame. I like the ritual and the fact it’s not as hot. I don’t want to destroy the cigar with a torch. When I use the torch I make sure I hold it back.
Mine came today, it’s a thing of beauty, sounds lovely and loud! Yours does sound a little muted, I have a few now, you are right they all sound different depending on what there covered in and also how there put together. I have one that’s so muted it’s just not funny, thanks for all the videos, great content!!
I was kind of shocked when I heard the noise of the lighter opening/closing. I have two limited James Bond Edition S.T. Dupont and I love them (one Gatsby and one Ligne 2). I also have the cutter (not Cohiba Edition) and I am quite disappointed of the quality. After some time, both ends don't open quite well anymore - I even had it for a service. :-/
Come on, Dirk. You can't go so long without a video. Yeah, yeah, you're busy making millions, but you still have many fans on YT who still want to watch your videos.
They all have a ping. Just because you don’t hear it doesn’t mean it doesn’t ping. I own one and it’s depends on how you open it up. I can push it up with no sound but I can flick it up for sound. I’ve played with many and they all act differently. You want to ping every time then there’s a way to open it. Yes they look fantastic in person. There is no describing it.
Sorry but are you joking? It is called Ligne 2 because it has two flames? The Ligne 2 has been made for a long time. Much earlier than the double (or cigar) burner was created. Please you can make all the videos but please be informed about what you are talking about
I’m looking for a Ligne 2 with double flame… what should I look for? A specific serial number? I can’t see anything on their website that says any particular Ligne 2 model has a double flame
@@vxnckrHad a look at the website and they don’t name the flame but for one Ligne 2 model, the Cohiba 55. They say it has double yellow flame. Actually, if you can go to a store, it is quite easy. The brass burner has two side holes, instead of a single one at the top of it. In this way the flame is broader and wider, double because the gas exit from two holes. Furthermore keep in mind that you can always change the burner on any Ligne 2 with the help of a goid lighter repairman. Best.
I'm partial to the flat torch flame personally. It's really nice for toasting, it doesn't go out in wind and it's intense enough to light a big ring gauge effectively, but not as intense as a regular torch flame. It's a nice middle ground. Also, Dupont is a really dumb brand ;)
Its not called Ligne 2 because it has a double flame...Its just second series ST Dupont lighter, most of the Ligne 2 has a single flame, some like this have the double flame thats it.Shame you dont know that.
youve used it once and lost the learher pouch for it hahaha are you slow in the head. What did you do drop it on the floor and forget to pick it up. hahaha. Maybe its "lost" with your odd socks in the wash.
€800-1000 for a lighter is non-sense. Period. It’s not a matter of wether or not you can buy it, it’s just non sense. The world is slowly but surely loosing its mind, and its soul.
I have a gold one my dad used to use and its over 20 years old and it pings beautifully
You gotta have the Ping. Thanks for the Palladium tip.

I collect dupont but never use their gas , it’s ridiculously priced, colibri premium and a brass connector off eBay does the job👍🏾
Yes it's just butane at the end of the day
They have that lighter which has the soft flame but also includes the torch option.
That’s the le grande but it doesn’t have the ping
I love my black Le Grand, sadly no ping. Just for ping I may buy the Ligne later haha. The soft flame is a bit addictive though
Thanks for the Monday morning video.
Just buy the brass valve adapter off eBay for €3 then you can use any quality butane
Good review! Does it scratch during use?
is there a life time warranty

Exactly the information I wanted, thank you!
Great review, so you’re saying all linge 2 made out of palladium will have a better ping sound vs any gold line 2?
I will say yes. The palladium does ping better from my experience. It also has to be non-lacquer version.

The dirt on your table made me think my phone screen had dirt behind it haha

so long winded and slow paced =)

definitely not worth the money
It's more about whether you like it or not, but that is a crazy price regardless. 1100 euros is like 1300 USD
not sure how this guy makes cigars seem so unmanly.
Cigars aren't a manly thing per se
