good job Shannon you got the splitter problem fixed , the more you run this mill the more you will figure out. You do need a roof to help keep the saw blade cool then most of your problems go away.

I would offer advice when you are having a problem but I don't know a dang thang about a sawmill. I'm just here to support a neighbor who is just getting started in a new endeavor. I do recommend your channel to as many people as I can but I'm not able to get around much.

I really enjoy your channel Shannon, keep up the great work. Looking forward to what you cover the old girl with. Curious, did you get the edger and chipper and planer Mike had? Be well God Bless

Well I appreciate the kindness. I was able to get the edger but nothing else. They had already sold the chipper. I wasn't interested in the planer but they did have an old small tablesaw that I tried to get them to include. They didn't want to and wanted a lot for it so I left without it. I really need to hook up this edger though. I've been sawing a lot lately and I have lost a bunch of footage edging on the mill. I saw you tearing down your new wall for yours. So many things to check on mills.
    Band saws are much worse.
Circle saws are a walk in the park

I have to ask on that last log it didn't look as though you use any taper, without it , your wasting alot of lumber.

Yes sir, the taper attachments were removed before I purchased the mill. I have really just begun sawing on a regular basis so it may be a while before I can retrofit any back on the mill. But, yeah, I actually was thinking the same thing while sawing that I am losing footage. Thanks for watching and commenting
