I love watching reactions to this song because everyone is blown away by her voice on the hook, and then she gets to, "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" and they find out she was just warming up her voice. 😂
Ooooooon point! 😂
Look when she takes the breath for that "hell hath" note. It's earlier than you would think!
FACTS
Perhaps, the fingers, are also just a warm up…. 🤫
@@elinkeykramme6511😂😂nice!!
Watch the interview with Chris Liepe. She does write her songs, she's also her own costume designer, meaning she actually makes them. No wonder she and Ren hit it off.
I see this commented a lot on reaction videos. I don't intend to take anything away from my Queen Chinny (I am and have been a member of her community for a while now), but She would prefer credit be given where credit is due. Chinchilla does design all of her hats. This is True, but she uses a designer for some of her costumes, and we should recognize them for doing so. Clothes Designer: Christiana Hadjipapa for her Little Girl Gone outfit and for at least a few others for her live shows. Let's recognize the talent and those who contribute, please. Thanks! Please don't think this is in any way meant to detract from your beautiful and sweet comment, OP!! Thanks
For real, it was a real good interview and she did touch in this performance too.
BP should for sure check it out
Omg the costumes in the video for fingers are incredible!!!

Praise for all of the creatives! Y’all did amazing and also represented amazingly! So much love coming from my little bed in Wisconsin.
She's no longer a shadow of herself, as per the line "this was me last year", now free of the record company and in complete artistic control at all levels. She has arrived and none can be anything but impressed. She's a masterclass in the best that an artist can be.
Just another reminder…this was LIVE. I’m in awe every single time I watch this.
She writes and produces her own stuff - you should probably go to Elements next for incredible bars and production - glad to see your respect for such a great artist
And this awesome hat was made with a towel ❤❤❤
Trauma didnt make me stronger , still broken 8 years later......Love this song , she is so unique and a stunning voice, .....Great reaction .....peace
So she writes and produces ( her stuff and others work too). She made the hat she is wearing. The piano on this is great- so restrained.
Her voice with the piano reminds me a touch of Tori Amos ( little Earthquakes era). The video as a whole- Tori Amos + Alice in Wonderland- on psychedelics ❤❤❤❤
Yes on the Tori Amos! I've also thought about Kate Bush, Rihanna and Pink (depending on which song I'm listening to).
She writes her own music and produces it too. She's a goddess! Love Chinchilla! ❤ great reaction!
And you'll love Elements too I think.
Should have millions of views. Pure genius. Criminally underrated.
I remember watching Lady Gaga come up and everyone being confused by her music. I get that kinda vibe with her...love to see it. Here for all the Chinchilla.
Lady Gaga is a industry child, Chinchilla is not.
How to be Me - the live version - is a must!!! X
haha we told you to stop sleeping on Chinchilla. Thank you for the reaction. Looking forward to listening toLittle Girl Gone. Trauma affects all of us equally on a physical level. I think where it changes is in how people are allowed to openly deal with that trauma. Women for a long time were silently abused. We took our voice back. Men have always been in the peril of trauma, and they are expected to take it and never say anything about it. I think we have seen how well that works with our veteran crisis and the higher rates of men unsubbing from life.
So happy to see you reacting to this, it’s such a powerful performance and really demonstrates her range and control.
You want to look at Elements next, it’s 🔥
Elements is awesome. I also really like Cold Water and Shadows although to hear that last one on youtube you have to start from the middle of her awakenings EP video (that whole thing is great and deserves a TON more views) but Shadows is my favorite of the bunch.
Elements is my favorite Chinchilla joint. She is just on another level.
17:56 She actually said that the part, “Put your keys in your knuckles like I have to.”, was actually improvised while singing. (Women often learn to keep keys in between their knuckles to try to protect themselves when alone.) That part is basically like a warning to the person she’s singing about that she’s coming for them.
When a man breaks a woman down we store it. We capture it and we don't forget. Sometimes with some of us.... it makes us store inner rage and we will absolutely come back and make sure you don't have the opportunity to do that to us anymore.
Whether she has been there or not, she makes us believe it ❣️
I understand this is an empowerment song, but I also fell in love on this one. I’d give her all my fingers.
Wow. Really?😅
I think i remember reading from Chinchilla that this song was more about the breakup from her previous record label rather then a significant other in the normal sense of the word. The beauty about this song is it could quite easily be both.
Absolutely 'Clockwork Orange' vibes. That's exactly what I thought the first time I saw this vid. She's amazing! Trauma definitely makes you smarter unless you're a very slow learner.
I have suffered some serious trauma. Now I absolutely take no sh#t. That said you do lose some of your softness. So both, it's strengthens part of you and kills other parts. Chinchilla rocks.
I have been through a lot of trauma in my life, and now at the age of 44, with three boys, ages 26, 10 and 6, being alone after an emotionally abusive relationship for 5 yrs, I have just finished my teaching degree yesterday... so now I have my bachelorsdegree and I feel empowered, not broken.
Any woman who has been abused in a relationship totally gets this.
I think the point of this, at least for me, is that this is a uniquely female revenge fantasy. Trauma doesn’t affect men and women differently necessarily, but it appears to me that this speaks to a common reality where women face a lot of potential for physical violence on their own bodies, but generally do not have access to any avenue of defending themselves or retaliating through physical reciprocity. This is a fantasy that speaks to the underlying rage a lot of women feel but often have to dismiss or suppress regarding that reality. It’s a fantasy because people aren’t generally thinking about cutting their ex’s fingers off, but it’s a heady fantasy for women because while many women have faced being physically brutalized or killed by significant others, there is not an outlet for the anger that encompasses that reality. She paints a picture of what that anger looks like in a fantasy narrative. The most poignant part for me is the line at the end “put your keys in your knuckles like I have to”… women put their keys in their knuckles to defend themselves against physical assault by men, but how effective is that really? It’s a statement of the he profound vulnerability that underpins this depiction of anger.
Perfectly put ❤
This is my favorite Chinchilla song because it feels like she’s taking the power back from someone that thought they could make her small and wounded. “Put your keys in your knuckles like I have to”.
I like that you’re opening up room for a conversation about this.
Trauma affects all people differently whether it’s a man or a woman. Some men become more aggressive because society doesn’t allow men to look “weak” by having feelings, so the fallback is aggression which is “manly”, therefore it’s okay.
Some women have the same reactions and even though it’s more acceptable for women to cry and feel their feelings, people become very dismissive of those feelings, so they also fall back on aggression, but women aren’t supposed to be aggressive, so the perception is that they’re broken.
Which is crazy because everyone - man or woman - should be able to feel some kind of way when they’re traumatized without having to water it down so other people can swallow it.
I'm glad you made this comment about trauma - I was trying to think how to say this and you have put it perfectly.
That was a virgin experience for myself, (beyond the chalk) and your reaction was like a fine outline.
I captured a character blend from Alice in Wonderland, the psychedelic yet jazzy tune was a soulful scratcher. A genre bending dark reality artistically done. Chilla Claus brings presence.
I appreciate your poetic take on music and life. Proud to be posted here.
I saw someone comment and say they believed that Fingers & Little girl gone is about her frustrations with how she was treated by the industry rather than an abusive relationship and that kind of made more sense to me, but I don't know if Chinchilla herself has confirmed this theory or not. Great reaction as always BP! Love from U.K xx
Amazingly fabulous Chinchilla 🔥
Finally!! You GOT TO do Elements too!!She does her own producing too LOVE her!!! She also makes her outfits especially hats!
Chinchilla is a talented singer and performer like Ren. Her outfits put me in mind of Alice in Wonderland, Queen of Hearts for her style. Beautiful her and her outfits. More Chinchilla reactions like you have done for Ren.
I was waiting for your face for womans scorn bit lol. This and little girl gone are my favourite one of hers by the way she makes all her own clothes and hats
I absolutely LOVE Black Pegasus's commentary and this is a classic gem for he spots things I felt but couldn't verbalise. He explains his thoughts so well, with passion and honesty and educates me with every reaction. I'm appreciating music genres I've never understood although they hooked me in and BP is giving me the language to understand. Kudos from a white 63 year old English woman who's loving everything BP puts out. Wow!
The first time I heard this, it broke my heart to think she would be abused. She's such a sweetheart and mega talented.
I believe it was written about her old record label.
@@EmotionalLemonade I guess I am glad to be a retired A&R then. LOL It was always a tough business but not like today.
@@docdurdin Yeah it's pretty nuts at the moment. I may be wrong on the story. It was in an interview she did.
This song is a vocal master class.
BP you got Chinchilla and this song right off the bat. What a pleasure to watch💕👍🦇
💯
Woo hoo! At last! This makes me very happy👍🦇
The quote that resonates with me is “if I were you, I wouldn’t want to fall asleep, because karma is coming back for you and she’s in the shape of me.” My father used to say “everyone has to walk across a dark parking lot alone sometime.” My Grandma used to say “Cast iron cookware is not just for cooking. If he hits you, wait until he is asleep and introduce him to the iron skillet alarm clock. Don’t stop until you are sure he will never hit you again.” Jerry Reed had a song called Attitude Adjustment. It taught me to treat everyone with respect because no matter how bad you think you are there is always a time and place where you are vulnerable. It is just easier and better to simply be a good person.
This is, like, THE Chinchilla performance, so if people weren't recommending this they done goofed, lol. And honestly, I think this is the perfect intro point to Chinchilla-after Chalk Outlines, of course-so you're golden.
re: trauma. My gut reaction is that men and women don't have an innate difference in how they deal with/process/move beyond (or don't)/experience trauma. However, social expectations re: how men (are supposed to) operate and how women (are supposed to) operate have created a difference in how that trauma is expressed.
As someone who’s been through trauma, I think how a person handles it depends on the specifics. It also depends on the person, not necessarily the gender. Men may be able to put up a tougher front, due to societal expectations, but that’s also part of the reason suic!de is more prevalent in men.
Absolutely. It’s about how your brain initially process the trauma (different in men and women because our brains carry currents differently), but the management and recovery is the absolute same 💜. Love your comment. I absolutely agree 100%
I love how you are expanding your horizons AND loving what you hear. This is an awesome reaction.
Mėń* sometimes process trauma through the social norms of being strong, macho, and unemotional because they are not allowed to be otherwise. It’s not a very helpful way to process as a lot of feelings get stuffed. Mėń *seem* stronger, but often they are just left with unresolved pain that comes out else where, such as anger or physical ailments caused by “stress.”
I know it’s been hard for you to acknowledge and show all your feels, but it’s valuable in processing difficult things. It’s part of what’s awesome about Ren. He is open about his pain, and it keeps him healthy and here in this world.
Love you, BP. Keep up the great work.
Her song Elements is incredible. You should def check it out
Yes, Chinchilla writes as well as produces her own music! She is an effing powerhouse of pure talent and her artistry and creative expression are so unique and fresh. Madly love her, glad you are going down the rabbit hole!
Day 10 without drinking. Can't wait till I start feeling better. Right now, all I can think about is drinking, an that it WILL NOT make me feel better. ❤️
Don't F with Chinchilla - shes a boss! And we love her for it! ❤
This performance gives me chills every time. She can cut my fingers off any day.
Lol knew you'd love this!!!! Chinchillas ability to personify emotions by bringing life to her words be it word choice or pronunciation or annunciation when her words are meant to cut you can almost feel the knifes edge!!! So flipping incredible... her voice delicate and lady like as we're supposed to be then ferocious and venomous as warning that she's been pushed too far..
Bc a woman will give you everything until you take just that lil bit to much and break us and we have to protect ourselves from both the one who hurt us and ourselves if we are to have any hope of putting ourselves back together behind the scenes without leaving cracks in our armor exposing fragility
You can tell when it's bad bad bc soft isn't an option when something as simple as a hug could completely destroy you
Love this woman ❤❤❤ soooo much talent and omg strength!! Empowering in its purest form... ❤❤❤
Elements..... ALSO A GREAT ONE, put it on ya to do list! ❤😂❤😂
Chinchilla writes all of her music, but she also produces all of her music so little girl gone all of that that was all her production
This song blew her up a couple months back and then she exploded with Little Girl Gone. Hard to believe she only had 6k followers then, she’s at a 61k now. Glad she’s getting the recognition she deserves!
If you want a song where the emotions hit and you can feel the pain, Yebba, My Mind the live performance. ❤
YES!!!! 🎉
Each person will be affected by & process trauma differently. PTSD can break anyone down. It can make you hard & soft & everything in between. Chinchilla is showing how hard she can be with this tune. I'm still new to Chinchilla's music as well & I want more ✌️💙🎵
The girl can sing, man! Great reaction! And yes, she writes all her music herself.
As for the trauma response... it depends on individual's character, personality and strength at the moment of that specific traumatizing trouble... But overall, psychological differences between men and women as groups do exist. So generalizations might be applied, but not at all of the cases.
so glad you are finally diving into Chinchilla! Elements would be a good next reaction. It says lyric video, but she is in it performing.
Trauma can make anyone stronger or break anyone down and you won’t know until it hits you.
SO very please you do this one, so amazing, just love this girl. "How to be Me" Live with Ren is incredible. Thank you for such a great channel and support for these guys ( and Angelina Jordan )
Yeeeah man! Chinchilla is like a beautiful monster with an angel's voice! Next one should be the "Elements" lyric video. She goes in hard like Little Girl Gone and the beat is sooo hard.
Omg! I love Chinchilla. And Fingers just shows how talented she is!!
Ren x Chinchilla - How to be me (live) is amazing
I've been waiting for this reaction. Watching reactions to this and her song Elements are some of my favorite ones. Her power and control are off the charts. Very excited for her to have her moment.
Not sure if anybody answered you regarding her name, but she did an interview in which her reply was: “I just really liked it as a name and sound, I used to wear a lot of faux fur jackets, and I guess I always have my claw-like nails on… Then I was choosing between a few names in a cab, and chinchilla kept coming back to me, and a Nicki Minaj song was on the radio, and she said ‘Chinchilla’ in it while I was thinking about it…. done deal. A sign from Nicki! “
Loved your reaction to this epic song and performer ❤🔥
Gonna check out your Space Invaders now ✌
I saw her do a version of this live at the Isle of Wight Festival in the U.K. the weekend before last. It was nearer to the original version that she released than this one, but both are awesome. Her voice, her performance and the band were just incredible.
I'm seriously jelly tbh!!!
@@susiejo143me too !
Yes at last you're checking out Chinchilla!
We love this girl SOOOO MUCH!☮️💓🇬🇧🔥
I see this song as her speaking to the industry, too. She’s coming for all of them.
Chinchilla is from the same planet as Ren! Not sure where they came from, but they showed up together!! I am here for it all! She is criminally underrated.
I had to come back and say, LOL It was all fun and games until she kept with that note, haha. Your face went from smiley to wtf in real time.
Have you heard Kasey Chambers cover of Lose Yourself yet? Worth a listen!
Would be cool if you could grab an Interview with Chincilla too,the one she did with chris liepe was a great watch, but only one i have seen. This song gives me shivers down my spine every time, amazing
loving your new last track bro........really fresh style
Looking forward to hearing what you think. One of the finest vocal performances i've heard in a long time. Love her. Like Ren, she doesn't sing her songs - she performs them.
One thing you might not know about Chinchilla is she makes all of her outfits. Hats included.
She does this live and it's absolutely insane. She is fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yes women are different in how trama affects us because we feel things deeply. Trama breaks us but it makes us stronger in the end. I absolutely love everything about her. She reminds me of my daughter that I lost. I see her everywhere though and that's what makes her live forever.
Love your channel, great reaction. Thank you. Yes “how to be me” live version next please.
She is incredible i would love to see more from Chinchilla.
Chinchilla (just like Ren!) is effing amazing!!! Their are both so dope and so intimate with their storytelling and musicality and their videos and just.... EVERYTHING!!!! They are so good!!!!
She also produces all of her own stuff as well!
Chinchilla is like if Lady Gaga took some mushrooms, and I'm here for it.
Trauma? We are human, Hi Ren tells it for both men and women. I am a woman abused for 20 years of my life. Made me strong enough to fight through anything, yet understanding the power of words and actions and how they affect others. Be kind, that is the most important thing you can do as a human being.
She says she is shy and when she puts on the nails it's like armor ❤
The reason i love her and ren... They are incredibly genuine and their messages resonate with many people.
You picked the right one--this is the video everyone loves.
Now I'm dying to see what you make of Little Girl Gone (Official Music Video), which is her newest one!
SHE IS JUST SO GOOD.
Tbh I think a scorned woman takes second place to a damp woman trying to put on a sports bra. That's a level of rage even Lucifer would shy away from 😄
Just when you think she’s reached the pinnacle of her vocal gymnastics she whips out something even more amazing. Great reaction btw. The official video for Fingers is also amazing and visually stunning and you really get the way she layers her vocals. Also Elements lyric video which isn’t just a lyric video. She’s incredible.
That NOTE she hits. 🤯
All humans are unique, and our life experiences influence how we deal with trauma far more than gender does.
Mad hatter meets clockwork orange 😂. She is a force of nature, that’s for sure 🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️.
Regarding Chinchilla, and the meaning of the song... EXACTLY!
I love the ending so much when she says " So keep'em close to you, ieeeyeeheeeiyyy.... Put your keys in your knuckles like I have too, iieeeyeeeheeeiyyy, One by ONE" That part put your keys in your knuckles like I have too is so hard. That look on her face when she says that you know she fucking means it bro.
JFGI! A chinchilla is a small rodent with REALLY soft fur. Thus the coat. Thank you for reacting to this, I LOVE this song.
Great reaction. You really saw what all the requests were about!
Maybe get LLH to comment?
She's awesome! But let's give some love to the brilliant pianist accompanying her.
I love this song so much. Chinchilla is such a boss. Love her.
As a social worker there, it is my experience that men break "easier" from trauma than women do. The reason is that women find it easier to talk to others about their experiences - they let it out and share - and thereby "they are more likely to share about carry the burden" and thereby heal... whereas men, on the other hand, keep it internal, inside in themselves and end up breaking... There are of course exceptions - but in general, this is what we see as social workers.
Thanks for a wonderful response to Chinchilla. It's taken me a while to tune in to her - but uhhh, she's good
Also her music is absolutely as varied as Rens
Interview Chinchilla BP - she deserves all the positive exposure.
Yes......chinchilla baby
Her song Elements showcases some of her unique rap style, worth the watch xo
So glad you finally got to this one!
I could repeat this song all day.
Was so pleased when I was the thumbnail for this - knew you'd love it as she is an amazing singer 🎤🔥🔥🔥
Vocally she’s like Bjork but visually she reminds me more of Annie Lennox and just the power vibe she gives off. She’s generational IMO.
