Nice video! Truck looks good. If you’re not planning to upgrade the rear leafs, I’d recommend the BDS 123109 rear 1” lift shackle. I’ve had mine for 30k miles with no issue and it helps with a 3” lift in the front to keep the back level when you’re loaded for a trip. Also gains you quite a bit of articulation and keeps you off the bump stops towing. Btw, love my sway bar disconnect!!
@@outlandishoverland lol I hear that. Considered selling my Ranger to get a new Jeep but realized the JLU Rubicon I want would be almost 60k. That dream went away quick 😂 good luck with the strike though, hopefully that ends soon and you can get whatever the new rig is..
Makes me sad so many companies stopped R&D on rangers because of the Bronco. I wish we had all the stuff aussies have for the rangers over here as I love my ranger but don't really like the slim amount of aftermarket there is for them. After 3k miles with my (new to me) 21 tremor I am dumb founded how well it does even on the factory General tires. How big of an 'upgrade' was going from 32's to 33's then to 35's?
Yeah, that's the downside to the Rangers because they are super capable. It's a pretty big jump between all of them. 33s are a great compromise to getting the job done and driving on the road/fuel economy. 35s really aren't needed unless you doing more extreme stuff.
@@outlandishoverland Good to know! I really didn't want to have to modify the truck too much and I know if were to go bigger in tire size I would be looking at lift and crash bar trim or removal. I had gone out and got to experience peak 10 and a couple other trails around the Breckenridge, CO area. The most challenging trail even though it wasn't suppose to be was Hancock pass. Lots of larger rocks the guys I was with were on 35's and made it through alright but I was not having a good time with the 32's but still made it through with some spotting. I started going through all your other videos and really enjoyed the content, not too much around with Rangers unfortunately. I'll be ordering the sway bar disconnects soon as I've been looking for an easy way without doing too much like taking one of the links out and zip tie the bar up when at a trail head. Thanks for the reply!
Do you feel like you need to regear with the 34’s? Also, how was the alignment after the lift? I’m a Frontier guy and we have to add upper control arms and eccentric cam bolts to get back into alignment after lifting. Thinking about an Fx4 as my next vehicle
No it's the stock spare. In a worst case scenario I can put it on and putt out until I can get a replacement. I also carry in the truck so tire repair kits if needed.
Love your build definitely resisting the urge to max out the credit card copying it
Thank you! It was a two year process in the making so it takes time!
Is your shirt on backwards?
Perhaps 🤣 Yes it was, that was due to it been a branded Tshirt that didn't want to advertise in the video. Think your the first person to catch that.
@@outlandishoverland haha! I figured that was the case! Just wanted to make sure I wasn't losing it!
@@outlandishoverland Are you going to overland expo east?

Yeah I was planning on doing rear leaf springs but I got bigger things planned so I'm not spending any more money on the Ranger.
@@outlandishoverland cool cool, switching to another rig?
@@Siskiyouoffroad Thats the plan enjoying this one how it is but who knows when I'll get it with all these strikes

What lift do you have to fit the 35 inch tires and i know you modded the fender flares but did you have to cut the actual sheet metal on the fenders?
Yes I did have to cut some of the sheet metal up front to fit the 35s. I had a 2" lift up front.
Love your build! also where did you get that awesome 4x4 Yoda decal. Looks sick.
I made it myself on one of the websites you can make your own decals
Can you send me a link for the custom bed rack please. I too have a bed cover and need a rack that works with one
It's an xtrusion overland bed rack.

Nice build! Do you still sell the quick disconnects? The link isn’t working for me 😢
No we no longer sell them.
Is that front grill stock? And where’d you get that blacked out ford emblem on it?
Yes it's the stock front grill. I just used plasti-dip to make the grill black and the Ford emblem black as well.

No the 2.3 mak s plenty of power to pushes the 35s just fine and with only the 2 inch lift the stock control arms do fine.
Is that 35s spare tire under?
No it's the stock spare. In a worst case scenario I can put it on and putt out until I can get a replacement. I also carry in the truck so tire repair kits if needed.
