this chorus is MASSIVE. what an album and in my eyes, an absolute masterpiece. SS will always have a special place in my heart. i got into INK in 2013 and seeing them explode with SS made me so happy. that being said, i think this is a Terminator 2 to Terminator 1 scenario. both are fantastic but the sequel just really built on the album that came before. thank you INK and thank you for reacting to this moment in history for me!
I feel this. i got into INK when Communion of the Cursed came out. And this album really reframes their whole discography for me. Now, ETITB is the epitome of the older INK sound. It’s reeeally solid. Previously i couldn’t decide if i liked TSS or ETITB better, but Horrorwood really let’s me see that TSS was a melding of this new INK sound with the old. And it didn’t always work. The songs that felt fully “new INK” like IT and The World in Your Hands absolutely HIT for me. But then there were some that felt like they didn’t quite work, Rocking the Boat and American Nightmare just felt like they weren’t working perfectly. I think it was them trying to force a blending of the old and the new. With JD no longer in the band, it seems like they’re fully embracing the new direction and evolution of the band, and leaving the older elements out when they simply aren’t needed. I’ll always love ETITB, and i don’t think I can say that i like Horrorwood better, but i can definitely say that ETITB is the best “old INK” album, and Horrorwood is the best “New INK” album. This album blew so far past my expectations.
Discovered Silver Scream 1 a year and a half ago, played that shit for a straight whole year, completely amazed. I remember listening to SS2 not so long ago like 1 or 2 songs and felt like , meh , can't beat the first one. I was so wrong. After I took the time to listen to the album entirely I was absofuckinglutely on my ass. This band is the exact definition of pure talent and genius I'm in awe !
Candyman was always a sad movie for me, and this has the perfect tragically dark tone with the bite of an INK song that i love. Easily one of the best on the album
Thank you for reacting to the whole album, my friends don't like this kind of music so I don't have anyone to share it, but with you I feel like listening with a friend
You got the metal community to share with bro. I love this genre of music and the people that share that love are always so cool and down to earth. (SiC)
That guitar riff is Flight of the Bumblebee by Rachmaninoff. One of the greatest and most difficult piano pieces of all time. Candyman is also the only horror movie/series that has actually scared me and I fucking love how well this song pays homage. This is one of INK's best songs ever imo.
The opening piano is actually also Helen's Theme from Candy man. Spencer when writing the song played around with the pianos and made it his own. So sick and this song is so beautiful and tragic. My favorite. But they are very good at ending albums very very strong. "Hell in the Hallways" , "IT is the End"... Just to name 2 other examples of how a band should end an album. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Have you seen Candyman? The piano is a take on Helen's theme. The guitar riff is Flight of the Bumble Bee. Most band kids have attempted it. It's a difficult piece.
Jesus Christ man. I watched all the reactions and its gonna be a while before I can pick a favorite. Everything was just so diverse and so goddamn well written both lyrically and musically. Cheers for checking them all out man, this was great!
This song hits hella different as a Chicago Native and my family lived Cabrini Greens back in the late 80s/early 90s when they filmed the original Candyman Movie. So honestly this is my favorite song and I honestly already knew it cause every time that chorus I get straight chills
Would you happen to know if it was based of off local folklore in that area or was it made up for the movie? I know that the movie is based off of the many cases of racial injustice against the Black community, specifically the killings of Black men, but I was curious to know if the locals had their own allegorical monsters or superstitions.
I agree. There isn't a weak song on the album. You can tell a lot of meticulous tuning went into every song to make sure they get the exact sound they wanted.
This album is an instant all time classic, this band is beyond amazing. Love most songs, but my absolute faves are - Welcome to Horrorwood A Rash Decision Funeral Derangements Hip To Be Scared The Box Farewell II Flesh Cheers for doing this whole album reaction
What a ride man this album is easily top 3 dropped this year for me probably #1 to me due to how big of a horror fan I am been listening to this album all day can’t get enough of it great reactions have a great rest of the night 🔪 🔪
After listening to it on repeat since thursday (i have premium on their app so i got it earlier) so like at least a hundred times now, my favourites are the box, the shower scene, farewell II flesh and wurst vacation! But I love all of them so much! This album is so insanely good!!!
I have to say this Sony my be the most underrated song they have ever done. The story it paints can be felt and seen through music, Dan and Rich just get how to compass a song from start to finish. Spencer has never EVER written a bad chorus. The fact that the source material is Candyman only adds to my love of this Song. Ice Nine has done the one thing no one thought possible. They took material we all knew not once but twice and made it a brand new experience. Back to Back start to finish The silver scream and the Silver scream 2 are masterpieces!
Im torn on my favs, I’ve said the shower scene mainly because of psycho. But Ex Mortis, welcome to Horrorwood, take your pick, farewell II flesh they’re all bangers and up there in that fight for #1.
I am a year late but this is my favorite song on the album. The intro to the song is perfect, i wish it kept the soft tone for another minute but the whole song is so good.
I very much enjoy watching your reactions. Since you're not a horror movie watcher the movies have no effect on your reactions and that's great. You looked so exhausted by the end from being overwhelmed by this album. As far as favorite... all of them? Is that a valid answer? Because it's all of them for me.
need to share the hype I felt with this album somewhere: with this song ink has officially made a song for each of my three favorite horror films (the other two were communion of the cursed and american nightmare)
Candy man is a powerful movie about a powerful subject ,it always makes me sad . This song is powerful! This song gives me goosebumps it’s that powerful!!!
These guys have me 1 million %!!!! Can’t stop listening to this album!!! If I had to guess I’ve literally listened to this entire album 2000 times!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Not only did I never expect to hear a song about Candyman, but I REALLY never though someone would turn a bit of the Candyman theme into a guitar riff and that gave me CHILLS.
Please react to The Human Abstract's album Digital Veil! It's one of the best progressive metal albums in existence, and there are almost NO reactions anywhere for it! If you want a recommendation, I would say start with Complex Terms, and continue sequentially if you like it. The first track on Digital Veil is just an instrumental intro, and you can probably do it alongside another song, in one video. Anyway please check them out! They deserve it!

I really love how they capture the tragedy of the story
Spot on man!
Agreed! This, Rainy Day, and The Box are the most spot on tracks on the album imo
I think people who react to ink should also watch the movies that correlate with their songs. I think it would appreciate the song even more.
Ew no candyman is too woke
Thank you for reacting to the whole album, my friends don't like this kind of music so I don't have anyone to share it, but with you I feel like listening with a friend
That's exactly how I feel about doing reactions. I'm just hanging out, sharing how I feel about the music with my friends 👊
I think you've made me figure out why I like reaction channels so much - I also have no friends that share my music taste lol

The first time I heard that solo, I was in my car and just screamed, "flight of the bumblebee!" Dan is insane on the guitar!
The opening piano is actually also Helen's Theme from Candy man. Spencer when writing the song played around with the pianos and made it his own. So sick and this song is so beautiful and tragic. Flight of the bumblebee is by Krosakov, not Rachmaninoff.
If you really think that Flight of the Bumblebee is one the of hardest piano pieces, it is clear that you are not a pianist yourself ...
@@skiipii729 absolutely agree. It is 100% La Campanella
Have you seen Candyman? The piano is a take on Helen's theme. The guitar riff is Flight of the Bumble Bee. Most band kids have attempted it. It's a difficult piece.

I feel this song perfectly captures the feel of the Candyman movie, especially the Candyman himself.
10/10 the whole album.
Farewell II flesh and funeral derangements are my top 2, but the whole album is a masterpiece. The guitar work on this album is insane 🔥🤘🏻
I agree. There isn't a weak song on the album. You can tell a lot of meticulous tuning went into every song to make sure they get the exact sound they wanted.

Love most songs, but my absolute faves are -
Welcome to Horrorwood
A Rash Decision
Funeral Derangements
Hip To Be Scared
The Box
Farewell II Flesh
Cheers for doing this whole album reaction
I swear the lime "left to die under the sun" just sounds so angry and desperate despite also being an amazing chorus hook
It hits so damn hard Everytime

I just waited for your reaction. This album is hell of a ride i love it. :O
This album man... Probably the best and most creative writing for metalcore in years. Every song is so well written and produced.
I am a year late but this is my favorite song on the album. The intro to the song is perfect, i wish it kept the soft tone for another minute but the whole song is so good.
By far my favorite song they've ever created. Speechless and chills every time I listen to it!
I very much enjoy watching your reactions. Since you're not a horror movie watcher the movies have no effect on your reactions and that's great. You looked so exhausted by the end from being overwhelmed by this album. As far as favorite... all of them? Is that a valid answer? Because it's all of them for me.
Just wanted to say I made it through the whole playlist and loved jamming out with your videos!

Great reactions for great album. Best album of my life. This song is best in the album
The whole album is fire. My favorites are probably funeral derangements and take your pick and this one. But there's not one bad song on here.
