Yeah, apparently he’s also on the channel of some guy who’s trees grow inside his chateau! 😉
@@TheChateauDiaries 😅😅😅
Ha Ha… 😃
Hahaha, good one Stephanie 🤣
Has he his own channel yet
Nick is just amazing; he works so hard. He is doing amazing work at Dan's Chateau at the moment and uncovering the history of the Chateau layout as he goes. Hats off to you chap. What a star.
Nick should have his own You Tube channel. He is awesome, I love watching him work. He is also very knowledgeable and we can all learn.
Yes. I agree
Totally agree,he is mesmerising to watch and so knowledgeable
Totally agree. I so enjoy how much he cares and how lightly he carries his expertise and knowledge. A real joy to watvh
I'm pretty sure he already has one! I saw someone mention it somewhere
He is very knowledgeable and is also such a hard worker between chateau diaries and Dans chateau he must be totally on the go virtually 24/7 along with his apprentice Cameron 😅❤
How nice that Amaury has his lovely mother (and ‘helper’ father) visiting him at LaLande for Mothers’ day! She always looks like a ray of sunshine.🥰
I agree.. such lovely people and Nati fits in so well with them all.
Please tell Nick, that he is so amazing , with all the landscaping . So glad he works for you.
I think the chateau is evolving into a wonderful community, and I love the way that guests, who are not too shy, are being incorporated into the videos.
You deserve credit, Stephanie. You've created and led a wonderful, hardworking team at Lalande, with everyone bringing something to the table, so to speak.
Thank you it was great.
I enjoy the guests being involved in the filming now too.
Nick is absolutely correct. Native Californian here - I grew up surrounded by the old growth Redwood forests in California. We do call it a fairy ring. Redwood forests grow in concentric circles around a mother tree. You can find the baby trees all circling their mother. It’s so special. So cool Nick knows about this!
Nick is so enthusiastic about his job and uncovering new plants in the woods. What an absolute treasure he is!! ❤ 👋 🇦🇺
Pavlina's flower arrangement skill has improved tremendously since she started. Nick's the rock star of trees. I'm so glad that Philip started taking guests to Emmaus this year bec that is on my wish list should I visit La Lande.
I could legit watch Nick clearing and cutting trees all day. He is doing so much at Dan’s Chateau as well.
Tatiana is the quintessentially beautiful French Mother, and Grand Mother, full of grace, and love! Happy Mother’s Day to all! Thomas!
I think you mean Tatinette! (Auntie) ❤
Maria your food is simply amazing x Congratulations you are an amazing innovative and inspiring cook as well as the most accomplished Pianist , but the biggest plus for all ! You have such wonderful dry intelligent humour.
The bouquet salad was an amazing creation! All your meals look beautiful, delicious and artistic. Very Latvian! 💗
Nick is the tree whisperer! He’s so busy between your and Dan’s chateau! It’s good to see Amaury’s parents back for a visit. I love them!
So happy Nick is caring for the Redwoods. (I live in SoCal. And one of my favorite trips was going up north to visit the Redwood Forest.) Thank you Stephanie for caring too.
...which has been diminished a lot. Heart breaking...
There is a near 300 grove of coastal redwoods in Carbon Canyon in in Brea. It was planted from the trees banks gave out in the 70s. Not like up north of course, but lovely to see.
I have always wanted to go see the majestical trees for years but I have never traveled that far north. I’m from the Florida panhandle and we just don’t get a lot of beautiful large trees like that because of being hit over and over again by hurricanes and tornadoes. Just with Ivan I lost 49 trees. One of the oak trees we lost would have been well over 150 years old. It took three people holding hands to get around the trunk. Some of the branches were thicker than actual trees.
I made sure to plant 98 trees over the next year after the hurricane because my mom always taught me that for every single tree that comes down plant 2 trees that are similar to the one that went done or upgrade to a more suitable tree for that area. Everyone should try to replace resources when ever possible. If you use a lot of paper items then you should replenish the resource by planting trees every year. I really hope someone reads this and goes out and begins planting trees everywhere. 😊
@@RoSario-vb8ge truly tragic
@@ladybughomer I am lucky enough to live nearby and can go often
Nick has an artist’s heart. He is making such picturesque scenes with his expertise.
Nick truly a Tree Surgent, making trees and the woodland healthy.
Happy to see Amaury finally got a helper. Hopefully, he stays long, 😅 and a "supervisor" too? 😊😂 Way to go 😂😂❤
@Nannie G
Many of us know that. Thank for the reminder, nevertheless 😁
Nick is such a hard worker. Between Dan and Stephanie's chateaus, he and his digger are getting quite the workout. What an amazing difference. 🙂🇨🇦
How wonderful to see Nic help the Redwood live on through the saplings. Nature is wonderful.
I love it so !
It should be noted that Stephanie is a hands-on Chatelaine who keeps in touch with whatever project is happening, and acknowledges the work and input of every worker and consultant who participates in the care and maintenance of the chateau. Her attention to detail is praiseworthy and her appreciation is boundless.
Maria is so impressive! Her meals look like something you'd have at a really high class restaurant... I think lol. I don't get to go to high class restaurants. Nick is also so impressive! I cane believe how much work he has done. I wish I could hire him to take down a ginormous tree in our front yard.
What a beautiful way of serving salad as a little bouquet tied with strips of carrot! I love Marie’s cooking not only does it look and sound delicious but she’s so inventive with her presentation. This is one I’ll definitely be using.
I definitely wanted to eat one of those bouquets.
It was as delicious as it looks.
Aunti is just admiring her talented men.
I’ve become such a fan of Nick ….. it’s made me really curious of what his own property must look like.
Maria the bouquet salad was gorgeous & the main course is fascinating! I'd come to LaLande just for your meals!!
Nick is going from one chateau to another making things beautiful.
The restoration of the forest, under Nick’s careful attentions, is excellent ❤
Nick is so amazing and hard working and loves what he does.
I just love Nick. He is so knowledgeable about trees and he really cares. Doesn’t hurt that he’s a character too. He is a joy to watch.
Nick is the Rock Star of Forsestry.
Thank you for another enjoyable video.
Nick is doing a tremendous job at La Lande! His outstanding knowledge and skill is creating a wonderful opportunity to restore the parkland, and develop a beautiful woodland garden!
Stephanie, you are so funny with your comments when you watch the peacocks...your comments are hilarious! Nice to see your aunt and uncle again! We call the tree "snowball" here in Canada, or at least I do! It's so lovely to see the parkland being cleared by Nick!
As always, a joy to see your aunt and uncle! That Nic is amazing!
Never noticed Nicks gorgeous blue eyes before.
Filter 😉
He is a hard worker and knows his trade!
@@tinekejoldersma It's a filter on the thumbnail for sure, but I've actually noticed his eyes before in the vlogs. They are very blue and very pretty. There are just so many other accoutrements to focus on it's easy to miss 🙃
I love watching Nick! AN ARTIST AT WORK! A Sculptor. Trees as his medium….. ALL the trails around LaLande will be just as magical as the Bluebell Forest some day!!! Can’t wait to see it all unfold!
Words that come mind are Shopping Addiction
I agree. I do find it unpleasantly over indulgent and it seems to have got so much worse after Phillip’s arrival. I used to love visits to brocantes but not anymore.
I paused before you showed the meal and commented to my husband that if someone had told me 3 years ago that I’d find watching a man take down and tree and make a path would be so thrilling I’d have laughed. But here I am absolutely enthralled any time you give us an update. The changes look epic on film so I can only imagine how it must feel in person. I’m so happy you’re investing in the forest as well as the chateau ❤️🇨🇦
Nic is a genius when it comes to 🌲 Nice to see Amaury’s parents back. Being newly retired myself, I tell people my week consists of 6 Saturdays and 1 Sunday 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Stole that from my brother in law. Another fun vlog and love Maria’s presentation of food. Looks so yummy 😋
Nick is a true craftsman.
I'm glad he's helping Dan.
Your aunt and uncle are favorites.
Special people
I love Nick! What a gem
mARIA et Nick are such treasures. you are zo lucky, steph.
As always I love LaLande. Stephanie thank you . Nick is a forestry artist. I love when Amaury’s parents come to visit. The spring bouquet salad well that was just perfection. Pavlina you are bringing out your Constance Spry incorporating the artichoke leaves into your arrangements, they are beautiful.
Nick works like one of the machines he drives! Between working at Dan’s and LaLande how does he fit it all in? Thank goodness he has Cameron working with him at times to share the load, what a formidable pair.
So much beauty today: the woodland alley, Phillip’s table, and Maria’s salad bouquet - an idea I will steal!
I was happy to see Dan back at Lalande in another vlog! It means that he's not homeless again. Beautiful food and nice guests today. Lovely flowers too!
Spoiling myself watching this on Canadian Mother’s Day, delightful! Always enjoy seeing your Aunt and Uncle visiting the chateau and Amaury and Nati. Maria’s dinner was a feast for the eyes and the palate served to them at Philip’s beautifully laid table. Nick and Cameron are doing their magic to make the forests of LaLande a true gem. Thanks Stephanie and good luck with your launch on Tuesday🙏🏼❤️
That arrangement of flowers is so eautiful!
I used to go to a discount flower warehouse once a week, and buy flowers for the apt. I loved the trip...and on the way I would stop at an Iris farm for a bouquet of blossoms( honor system, leave a fiver on the counter...great fun!
I live in a city in a small apartment- your videos are like a vacation for me. They inspire me to live well and enjoy nature and friends - Thank you all lovely people xxoo
How wonderful that Sharon has stayed longer. She's a delight. What fabulous personal style.❤️
The woods look fantastic.🌳🌳🌳 Thankfully, Nick will be addressing the widow maker precariously hanging over the path and boathouse. I said a prayer for him.🙏
It's good to see the B&B season is off to great start.
Bon courage, Amaury! You're a star!⭐ I love your parents.❤️🥂🍾❤️ Here's to them!
Is Sharon wearing the tiara at dinner? What great style would love to hear more about her.Has she been a guest for awhile??
@@deedeerichardson443 I would swear she's been there since Easter. She was there during the coronation. She stayed at Lalande last season too. She demonstrated how to use a bull whip back then. She's a hoot!
My father used to hollow out those fallen pieces of trees like you have there,to make as planters along the path , where he fell them ,,lining the path ,,,,,,, to prop them up used a 20 inch firewood piece split in half as their props off the ground,,,,, their feet per say,,,,, halfway hollowed them out with a chainsaw,,, filled the hollow with dirt, planted ferns inside that,,, what a beautiful site along the pathways , with ferns and naturel growth we had along the path ,,,, love your place ,,have watched for a year or so ,,, love and wishes LILLE MARIE
Nic is on Cool Dude!
You auntie and uncle are darling people…so charming.
Philip does a beautiful job of setting a table.
Maria does fantastic job with the food.
Flowers look great on the table.😊
Nick is amazing with his knowledge and work ethic. I love all the work he’s been doing at Dans chateau as well
me too . and I am glad he doesnt just cut trees with no thought or vision as to the beauty that can result. He is good at his job. I dont really know what the big deal is about the boat house... But anyway, just save logs and the tops and move it and reconstruct it later. It must have huge sentimental memories for steph and family. . But Nick cares.
💖👸🤴💖🎬🎥📽👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💖😊💖WE ALL LOVE NICK DONT KNOW HOW LA LAND LIVED WITH OUT HIM XXX
The clearing is wonderful. I was able to ride my bicycle all around. Oh joy.
I love you all.❤❤😊
Maria's creative cuisine is really quite extraordinary.
Hi Stephanie…….I think the plant Nick unearthed us a variegated Camellia xxx. Lots of love
So good to see Amaury's mama et papa with him and always good to see what Nick is up to!! Maria's salads were beautiful 😍
The dinner was delish. The bouquet salad was yummy. Bravo Maria.
Nick is doing a great job in the woodland
I am a cold weather traveller, but I am convinced that it would be worth putting up with the heat of Europe in summer just to visit Lalande! I hope things work out with the boat house. Fingers crossed! Thank you for the video!
There are lots of varieties of variegated Rhododendron and you can work it out when it flowers? The difference in leaf is because it has reverted presumably because of lack of light.
Thanx, I've been talking to Kirsty about it, we're both a bit unsure
I love seeing the use of my glassware on your tables
Nick and Amoury are amazing at their respective crafts...Maria and Pavina too...
The courtyard looks as pretty at the moment as I've ever seen it.
18:57 I gasped when I saw the alleyway. 🌳🐾🌳 My goodness the beauty and creativity of the land 💒 and the people fill my heart to overflowing. Lest you think I am exaggerating, I'm not. I'm stuck on my bed most of the time so distraction is sought and welcomed. ☺️💕
Nick is genius
I don't believe I've ever teared up over a bouquet salad. I've never seen anything like it. So beautiful, Maria.
Thank you for circling back to what Nick’s up to! It’s always sooo fascinating!
As a former landscaper, I am thrilled to see nic work, especially in double time...
Nick's perspective when he looks at things is just...amazing.
I adore how you have long-term plans and aren't all about cutting corners and fast and loose solutions. It's always such a joy to follow life at the chateau.
The woods look amazing, go Nick and Cameron. Does Amaury ever take a day off?
How to cover a vlog chock full of delightful activity? There's so much to love. I could end my comment there but why start now. So... There’s an Emmaus shopping expedition bound to dig up amazing treasures. Hansel’s bottom shake couldn’t be more entertaining…if you’re a peahen. Amaury, as always, is making it happen in the former stables while Pavlina and Jean Baptiste are the dynamic duo when it comes to flowers. Philip reveals his Emmaus haul which includes a gravy boat while roast pork is in, chickens is out. Talk about clearing out, master tree guy Nick leaves us with a clear view so we can begin to see beyond the forest and through the trees. With a hint of danger, Nick tells us it’s now the old boathouse against the trees…and the winner will be? Gorgeous, Philip… your table manners are always exceptional, this time with something green, something blue and just a blush of pink. For a dinnertime starter, magic Maria brings together a most inviting salad… there’s parsley, spinach, rockets and peashooters, oh my. Dessert is a not too decadent Greek style banana and walnut baked in a cake with berries added to boot. Finally, we’re reminded to be sure to watch ‘Travels With My Friend’ on Tuesday. That would be with Stephanie and Ollie in Barcelona. Bound to be an epic adventure that can’t be missed.
BTW, I watched the 1949 French movie 'Jour de Fête' this afternoon. Cool to see Sainte-Sévère in the day, which of course is where Stephanie and Philip's favorite restaurant, 'Le Relais du Facteur' is located. It was an amusing movie from the era but the last thirty minutes were the most fun.
Lovely to see your aunt and uncle x
The woodland is simply wonderful. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mom’s that have made a difference in a child’s life. Happy day one and all from Vermont, USA with love❤️
Maria is a magician with the food and Paulina with the flowers 💐
Stephanie you were right it is a type of viburnum, also known as a guelder rose. A beautiful plant, I’m glad yours is coming along so nicely
She is a ray of sunshine
Tell Pavlina she has a magic touch with flowers, I love it.
Nick is an artist with the heavy equipment
25:59
25:59 the forest is coming along so nicely!
🌲🌲🌲🏰🌲🌲🌲
looks great Nick👍🏾
I adore Pavlina. I share her love of flowers and the smile she has when talking about the garden inspires me to enjoy my own garden more.
The shrub discovery , I think, looks like a Magnolia Grandiflora . The back of the leaves would be rusty colour if it is, and then they flower in summer with huge pale/creamy white scented flowers and is evergreen. X
Just planted some rununclas in my garden, hopefully they grow. I first saw them on this channel
Just watch out for slugs nd snails! Mine all got munched so can't grow anymore but they are beautiful, Good luck.
This episode is probably my favorite. I am a native Californian and I remember driving through the Redwood forest of coastal California with my parents when I was probably about 10. Some years later direct action was taken to try to save the remaining trees from being cut down. People would climb into the trees and stay there so they could not be felled. To see Nick explaining how he is returning your forest into a SAFE park as it was originally is fascinating. What an education!
So good to see your Aunt and Uncle back. ❤ The woodland and grounds are looking wonderful. Nick and Cameron are making such an impact with their experience and hard work.
That is a great man. He's doing so much at Dan's chateau, it's unbelievable. I'm so glad he's working for you too
He was working at LaLande long before Dan purchased his chateau.
Wow!! Nick is a true man, a hard worker. I love seeing him in the videos
The gravy boat would look great with flowers in it.
I love knowing what the guest are looking for on their treasure shopping
It is Mother's day in the US, best wishes to Isobel!!
Nick does a great job. The peacocks are so cute
Nick cam is amazing!
Nick is a master. ❤ I love the flower bouquets of salad.
10:33 my heart filled with joy when I saw the flowers Stephanie! They are so beautiful 💞
Nick it's looking beautiful. Maria what a clever way to serve a salad. And as always I enjoy watching. 🦋
I just noticed how close your fire extinguisher is to your wood stove. If it gets too hot it could explode.
I recently learned that if you try to correct a tree by staking it, it's going to end up being weak on the side that is being held.
