My dad and I are restoring a 1975 cb750 FOUR. It’s been a lot of fun so far.
The very last cb750 sports f2 had dual front and single rear discs. Revved to 10000rpm. Ultimate cb750 !! Black motor. Owned one.
I'd love to see a video where you guys come to the UK and spend some time riding 125cc bikes around. Like you're a teenager here just starting out

@@ChrisG1392 unfortunately a lot of grown men seem to be idiots even on 125cc bikes in the UK though 😅 unfortunately it's that minority of idiots that ruin it for people with throttle control and common sense
Careful, I'm 66 and have riden a 125cc for 2 years and no I don't have a problem with throttle control. Lol 😆
Yea that doesn’t sound fun at all! How about you come to the states and ride my 200hp 435lbs rocket in a wide open roads you can do 300mph on. This is America if we go we go big!! And I guess I should say I do own a CBR300R to for town riding it’s fun but anything smaller then that is just to small for me I’m 6’3” 275lbs!

Yep. My dad had a cb750 back when they first released. And he kept the bike in his collection most of his life. Not only was it an icon. But you seriously just couldn’t kill that bike. It ran like a top all those years
When these bikes came out it was the coolest thing ever. One of the guys we hung out with had a new 500 Kawasaki triple, and 2 other acquaintances had new CB 750's. When the guys with the 750's left for home we'd all stand there in silence waiting to hear them roll on the revs through the gears. What sweet sounding bikes for the time. About then the 750 Triumph Trident and BSA Rocket 3 came out too, but I didn't know anyone that owned one of those. I myself eventually came to own a new '74 CB750 and a new '83 CB1100F. To me they're still my two favorite bikes ever even almost half a century later.
That is very cool history mate, I have a very sweet photo of my deceased father on an Enfield in 1950 when he was seven or eight. Make sure you share that with your family man. Find a granddaughter or grandson to tell it to. Let them know you were there when it happened. Your legacy with your own child is to teach them what they need to know, your legacy with your grandchild is to teach them what you know.

By the way my younger brother rides and Enfield as his daily, .... a 500cc single and he loves it.
I ride a 91 Kawasaki Zephyr 750. It is fun seeing all the older guys stop and stare.
I make their day, they make my day. That alone makes all the maintenance worth it

They built some pretty great bikes back then. 😊
This was like the EV cars you see now. An overwhelming force that even if you wrapped yourself in a flag it doesn't wash reality away.
My dad had a 1970 CB750 that he bought brand new just a couple months after I was born. We called it "Red Fred". He had that bike for 30 years. It was a great machine and I have many fond memories of dad with that bike. He sold it to a collector in 2000 after he bought a new ST1100 (which I now own). He was also a Honda certified mechanic and used to do setups and repairs on them back in the day in Minneapolis. When we moved to Colorado in '76, word got out in Durango that he knew what he was doing with these bikes. A couple of local cops approached him and asked him to "work over" their personal rides. He agreed and they parked at each end of the valley north of town for a weekend while he did his testing on their bikes. He thoroughly enjoyed that as you might imagine.
I still miss Red Fred and going for rides with dad.

My dad bought a brand new cb900F back in 1982. I have many fond memories with that bike and it was the bike that got me into motorcycles today.
If I'm not mistaken, the bread on the table in the tablecloth stock footage is khachapuri.
My first bike was a 1976 CB550 (in 2019). It had 12,000 original miles because it was a barn find. Absolutely amazing bike.

I lived through those days and was a Honda dealership mechanic. The CB750 is the most important motorcycle ever made because of all the reasons you stated in your video. Good history lesson Yammie. I rode many of them but sadly never owned one. I couldn't afford it and settled for a CB500. I don't regret it because I built it into a peaky firebreather that was way to fast for the frame and brakes. Damn, I miss that bike.
I wish you would of given a shout out to my CBX though.
A friend from years ago owned a CBX (maybe more than one) and they were a joy to ride.
At the drag strip a guy with a CBX wanted to run against my '68 Camaro (a done up SS 396) and I always politely declined.
I know he's brought up the CBX a few times on the channel, it'd definitely be legendary if they got a hold of one for a video.

Me too. It was these that killed the British Bikes. As cool as the BSA Rocket 3 and Triumph Trident looked I think most figured why have 3 cylinders if you could have 4.
My favorite vintage bike. The historical importance of this model can’t be overstated. My mechanical skills leave a good bit to be desired, so I’ll never own a CB750, but I’ll always look upon the model with lust and respect.
My first street bike was a 79 CB750K 10th Anniversary edition. I bought it used from a buddy, great deal, easy to maintain, lots of power! It was a bullet proof, fun ride which I enjoyed for about 4 years before upgrading to my next ride, the MIGHTY Yamaha VMax! That was many moons and a few bikes ago. Agreed, the CB750 was a very important, reliable, fun, solid bike. Which encouraged many people to ride. Thanks for yet another quality video!

My first bike, I had been riding other peoples dirt bikes and one roommates 350 but this was mine and oh man I loved it. A few months later my roommate got a Kawi Z900 which blew the doors off my 750 but we would trade off and had a blast for a couple of years. I feel so lucky to have been riding when all that happened. cafe styled bikes today forget that we took the solid basic UJM and added all the HP and handling we could. They didn't come that way. I still do that to every bike I buy. Thanks for a great vid guys took me back.
Such a diverse engine. See them on stripped cafe bikes, people drop them into chopper/bobber frames, trackers, etc. So cool to see them in so many different bikes.

I can recall the CB750 vividly. It was then a superbike. But my big love was the Kawasaki Z 900 B I loved the sound and power with my 4 in 1 exhaust. A symfonie.

I learned on a CB750fourK and my first road bike was a CB550fourK! I grew up with these bikes my dad road and owned them all at one point me to. I moved on to ZX750RR and ZX900RR at I got up in my 20’s!! Now I own a GSX-S1000 and a CBR300R!

Man I love being able to go to my garage and just look at my 2 sohc CB750s it's the AK-47 of bikes. It just did what it's supposed to reliably and damn well. Also can be completely serviced with tools that fit in a cargo pocket.

CB900 was my first road bike. Biggest bike I had ridden before that was my CR125. Heavy, under suspended and flexed like a cooked noodle in the corners but it taught me a lot. I can't imagine how loosely goosey the og single cams were.

Just found your channel. My first bike, well besides the moped, was a Honda 350 enduro. Bought it around $100 in 1984. Ride that 2 years then graduated to a Honda 750-4stroke that was a 1973 front end and 1974 back end. lol. Was a good bike except the carbs gummed up quickly.

I had an '82 CB900 Super Sport back in the late 80s. I think the looks of that bike still hold up pretty well today. Honda should do a neo retro based on it.
The CB750F 75’-77’ had a rear disc brake and was the supersport model. It differed from the K models in the longer gas tank and a cafe-ish seat.
I was hoping that you would have mentioned the tariff that the US put on large displacement motorcycles in the early 80's. The 1983, 4, and 5 Nighthawk CB650sc was a shaft drive replacement for the CB750. Loved that motorcycle in it's day.

We still use tablecloths napkins and Greece But just for your hands. But they typically use a paper tablecloth that is replaced every time somebody sits down

I am looking to get either a CB350 or CB450 as my first bike. However, I hope to wind up on one these old horses. I had a friend whose brother had a CB750. Occasionally, my friend would swing by when he 'snuck' it out. Very cool machine.

My first bike that I owned all myself was a 1999 CB750 Nighthawk. It had shortcomings, sure, but most days I regret trading it in.
I had a new 1972 CB 750 Honda.
My brother had a CB 750 back in the early 80’s. I think it might have been a ‘78 model.
Don't forget the CB1000 that was made only from 1981-83, had the cool/weird duel range 5 speed.
I loved my CB750...except for the points and the carbs.

Been noticing Yammie saying flattering things about motorcycles he normally despises. The Royal Enfield the FTR1200 and this video on the SOHC CB 750. This CB750s specs are lame by modern standards. But in 1969 no Harley Davidson made 67hp stock. Not even close. Same with Triumph. The CB allowed someone who was not a master mechanic to ride long distances.
Looks like when those bikes came out they had nearly the same horsepower but the Honda was lighter and easier to work. Idk, I'm not a doctor

Well in India we have mainly low cc bikes. I have a Honda Hornet 2.0 aka Hornet 190r Indian version. I love my bike.
You guys have to ride a SOHC for the channel. I'm on my second one and I'm stuck for better or worse on these bikes.
Hey Yam, while you’re on the subject of UJM’s, I’d love to see a video about Honda’s boxer engines, accompanied with a theory of why the other Big Three didn’t copy the GL1100 boxer-four, easily one of the greatest engines to serve mankind, IMO. Any thoughts about this?

Honda made motorcycles accessible to the global market. People in Asia ride bikes for practical use everyday. If it wasn't for the Japanese manufacturers revolutionizing the motorcycling industry, motorcycling wouldn't have been as mainstream like it is today.
Not only in asia, I ride my cbf 600 everyday and keep my Monster 1100 for the fun stuff.

Fun fact: afterww2 Honda couldn’t open a mechanic shop so he pulled what money he had together and brewer whiskey. He made whiskey for ten before earning the money to create his motor company.
