Thyroid cancer is not a "good" cancer, and my mothers diagnosis came late. She had a 15cm sub-sternal tumour that was not picked up at any time prior to surgery .... nobody picked it up during the years she complained about her symptoms.
Her suffering prior to surgery wasn't good to see, and the way it has affected her life after surgery is terrible .... nothing is good about this cancer at all.
Thank you for posting this video very helpful in understanding this disease
Thyroid cancer overall has some of the best survival rates, but that doesn't make it "good" or "friendly." There are still quality of life issues, and many patients require multiple surgeries or treatments. Then there's the followup which often brings the stress of possible recurrence or suspicion of a 2nd cancer. Type of thyroid cancer also matters, with medullary & anaplastic having very different outcomes than papillary/follicular.
Did you have any of these I want to know from people that have had it or may now things about it
I had thyroidectomy and high dose iodine therapy. It shows 3 lymph node mets. Is there any chance of spreading . Next tretmnt is after 6 month.
