Universität Essen is a station on the lines U11 and U17.
The station opened on November 27, 1981.

Gutes Video! Bei 4:15, man sieht, dass einige dieser Züge tatsächlich von der DLR (Dockland Light Railways) in London stammten, die fahrerlose betrieben wurden, bevor sie nach Essen geschickt wurden. Als es anfing, es mit Treibern zu verwenden.

Auch wieder gut. Sind dir auch die letzten DLR-Wagen im Londoner Originallack untergekommen? Soweit ich weiß, dürfen die ja nur auf der U17 fahren.
Danke! Falls es noch DLR-Wagen im Originallack geben sollte, habe ich sie jedenfalls nicht auf Video. Bisher habe ich dort allerdings erst 7 Stationen besucht (alle auf der U17-Strecke), nächstes Jahr folgt dann hoffentlich der Rest!
Na dann mal viel Erfolg. Habe gerade geschaut, der letzte originale wurde leider 2017 verschrottet.

Why is an old DLR in Germany
As far as I know these trains didn't meet the safety requirements for DLR anymore, and Essen was looking for used trains at the same time so they bought them.

I'm not a fan of the design of this station. It looks like the tiled walls are designed by someone completely different than the person that designed the platform. And very tiny font of the station name. The pillars, lightning (round and tube), colours used on the platforms are completely different from the tiles and wall colours. Strange feeling. But platform and walls don't mix well.
There was indeed a renovation in 2007. The pillars, the seats and the lightning looked different before - here is a picture: commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Essen-station-uniessen.jpg
It's an improvement as it's now brighter but they should have stuck to brighter tones of the wall colours. Now it's too much of a contrast. Or do the walls in Blue - my favourite colours anyway :) lol@@MetroCheck
