Berliner Platz is a station on the Stadtbahn lines U11, U17, U18 and on the tram lines 101, 103, 105, 106, 109.
The station opened on November 27, 1981 (the tram platform opened on September 28, 1991).

Einer der wichtigsten U-Bahnhöfe - von Dir perfekt in Szene gesetzt - Bestens👍ich erinnere mich noch gut an die 90er, wo da sogar die Spurbusse im Tunnel fuhren. War damals ne Sensation😊

Always found it strange Essen bought the London Dockland trains. These trains had no cabin or panto, so way spent that much money on second-hand trains to completely reconstruct in stead of buying new ones. One of the strangest buying decisions ever. 🤔🤐

Yes, agreed. One other fun fact: London had to decommission the DLR trains because they extended the light rail into a tunnel and those trains did not fit the British safety standards for that. But the Essen Stadtbahn uses all of those vehicles in tunnels, of course.
Why they didn't just buy Typ-B waggons is a mystery to me.
