- The Essen tramway network (German: Straßenbahnnetz Essen) is a 52.4-kilometer (32.6 mi) network of tramways forming part of the public transport system in Essen, a city in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Parts of the system also serve the neighboring city of Gelsenkirchen.
The network is complemented by the three light rail lines of the Essen Stadtbahn. Interestingly, a portion of the network has dual gauge track, which accommodates the narrow-gauge trams, as well as the standard-gauge Stadtbahn trams. Enjoy this look at a fascinating system!

The dual-height underground platforms are interesting
Very much so! The closest analog to them in the United States is Cleveland’s rapid transit network.
Importantly the tickets on the tram works on the S-Bahn Rhein Ruhr S1/S3/S9/S8 lines. Breaking them down S9/S8/S5 Bahnstrecke Düsseldorf Wuppertal Hagen Dortmund Rhein Ruhr Osten While S1/S3 operate on Hauptstrecke Rhein-Rhur Duisburg Essen Bochum Dortmund you might be able to buy a ticket for the tram and RE19 on Hollandstrecke Duisburg Oberhausen Emmerich am Rhein🇩🇪 Zevenaar Arnhem Amsterdam Centraal🇳🇱. From what I can see why doesn't the United States do two things get a regional tariff Association and this style of Trams
