For your next baseball reaction, please react to "Why MLB's Youngest Star Keeps Pissing Everyone Off" by Baseball Doesn't Exist. It details Ronald Acuna Jr's rise to prominence and how his public perception has evolved over the years.
24:00 The issue a lot of people have with what the Golden Knights are doing, is that it circumvents the salary Cap.
They placed players on Injured Reserve and so they didn't count against the Salary Cap, they then went and used that cap space to get more players and behold come Playoff time the injured players are suddenly healthy again.
Key point being here that there is no salary cap during the Playoffs, so now they are millions over the Cap, but it's allowed now, so technically no rule is broken. Tampa did the same in past years and honestly a lot of teams are over the Cap in the Playoffs, it's just more noticeable when it's an expensive Star player coming back for an already great team.
Difference was when other teams did it their player was actually out for a long time if not the whole regular season and it was only 1 year. But with Mark Stone this is 3 years in a row now so
@@itscoleman85 That adds to it, sure. Trust isn't all that high in this case understandably. But people were complaining just a loudly when it was the Bolts and there it wasn't the same player IIRC.
forgot how long Stone was out this time, surely was a few months.
Players get healthy, even Filip Chytil might play again for the Rangers, after missing basically all of the season with a concussion.
Vegas isn't even the team that is over the Cap the most currently.
Obvious change would be to have the cap be there in the Playoffs, but I don't think Owners really care about this issue, only fans do and not even all of them.
Hawks did it with Kane once. I believe they won the cup that year. But those same deadline deals ruined the Hawks for years. Vegas will pay too.
Good to see Damo back, and to see some hockey content.😍
Thank you William!
I was at Canes-Isles game 2! Absolutely incredible game that yall should check out! We scored twice in 9 seconds to tie and then take the lead
Hockey Psychology is the best channel if you want weekly updates on the playoffs...
What happened to “Hockey Psychology” reactions? The Leafs Cup Parade is back on after last night.
Damo was in an accident and they have a long road to catch up. They did tell us in videos, the live streams, community pages and on their discord too
And the parade is back on haha
game 7 loss in boston incoming lol
We are trying to let people know, we can’t do much more than we have
Yeah bud ! That's my go to recap when I'm only watching my Bruins series .
The reason we're seeing 1s and 2s face in the second round is because the NHL moved to a more divisional alignment of the brackets where each division winner plays each wild card and the 2s and 3s in each division face off. This means that if the top 2 teams in a conference are in the same division, they'll face off in the second round. The way the NHL playoffs usually shake out though means that there are upsets and close matchups up and down the brackets no matter how you stack them.
This is what drives me nuts about the NHL. They started doing this for as long as I can remember going back to when the league absorbed the WHA. Then they had a brain reset & did the smart thing trying to give the best teams the best chance to advance by doing 1-8 seeds thruout the conference, only to switch back to the old way a few years back. It made little sense then & it makes no sense now.
Got a cheap ticket to a (possible) game 6 in Los Angeles on Friday. It’ll be my first ever hockey game if it happens, but the Kings need to win tonight to force a game 6.
My condolences
@@im_sorry_i_forgot_my_username I got tickets to see Bill Burr instead, it all worked out in the end.
Glad to see both of you back. I’m sure as you guys get back into the swing of things, a little more hockey vids will be available. So many sports together this time of year.
You guys should go to a game in the finals. It'll be hype even if you don't have a favorite team
ye bro they def just gonna fly across the Atlantic and pay thousands of dollars for a team that they dont even support and in a sport that they barely follow
The President's trophy is given to the team who earned the most points in the regular season. While it may seem like an achievement, it's seen as a curse as only 8 teams have ever won it and the Stanley Cup since its inception.
To explain the Vegas Golden Knights "Cheating" accusations: The NHL has a hard salary cap and most of the good teams pretty much spend to the cap to bring in good players. Vegas is taking advantage of a couple of loopholes within this system, and have done so now for 3 years in a row:
First, when a player is injured you can place him on what's called the Long-term injured reserve list. (LTIR) What this means is that the player must sit out for at least 24 days from when he was injured but, it also makes his contract temporarily "not count" towards the total cap hit of the team for as long as he remains on this list. Once he returns to play his "cap hit" counts again and the team must ensure the team they play fits under that Salary Cap restriction.
Second, in the playoffs, the Cap restriction goes away and it doesn't matter how much your team costs anymore. So, Vegas has been able to place Mark Stone, their captain, who makes the 2nd most money on their team, on LTIR just a few weeks before the trade deadline each year. Vegas then spends the money they recouped in Cap space to trade for players before the deadline and then re-activate Mark Stone once the playoffs start.
Vegas gets more good players and their captain gets a month and a half's rest each year before the playoffs. It's a win-win for them (as long as they make the playoffs) but, to the rest of the league it might as well be cheating.
To give a little context: The NHL salary cap for this regular season was $83.5M. In the playoffs right now, Vegas is fielding a team worth over $92M.
The Knights didn't make the playoffs two years ago. And stone came back before the playoffs would have started. Its why they sold at the deadline that year. I keep seeing people claim they have done it three years, yet people seem to forget they didn't have the money to buy that year and that they didn't make the playoffs.
@@blastimbre You're half right.
You're right that they didn't make the playoffs that year but, they only missed it by 3 points. At the trade deadline their playoff status would have been unknown.
They didn't sell at the deadline that year, they made no trades at all according to CapFriendly.
But, they DID put Mark Stone on LTIR in February but, they just didn't take advantage of using that cap space as they have in the past 2 years. (probably because they were unsure if they were going to make the playoffs that year)
Good job explaining the loophole. Tampa did the same thing with Kucherov. That rule needs to be fixed.
I’m from North Carolina I’m pulling for the Carolina Hurricanes 4sure
As a lifelong Canuck fan who really hates the Oil - I fkn love how the top two kept their shit together this year.
That infamous tap on the bench. 🤙🏼
Ahhh gotta love urinating tree vids
Legend Urinating Tree ❤
The Canucks have used 3 goalies in the first 5 Games of the series against Nashville
Seeding - not sure what you were looking at. Remember there is two conferences, Western and Eastern, both conferences have seeds 1-8. So you probably saw games that took place on same day, but are from both conferences.
Hilarious watching this back. Colorado washed Winnipeg like it was nothing 😂
This is why hockey is great. Its wide open. Vegas owned Dallas first 2 games and now theyre down 3-2. Maybe didnt own them but Dallas looked bad. I put money on Nashville simply because they had great odds. But I have to go Florida if i had to pick a team. They have a nice nasty streak and a lot of good players.
Go Avs!!!
The Canucks were losing 3-1 with 3 minutes left. Pulled the goalie to go 6 on 5 and scored 2 goals to tie the game at 3. Then scored 62 seconds into overtime for an epic comeback win
I love that the VGK are nicknamed the "Injured Reserves" lol. God I can't stand their circumvention of the rules.
Let’s Go Canes!!
My final four are hurricanes bruins canucks and stars.
round one will be over in a few days
U guys should check out Connor bedard, he’s going to win rookie of the year and he’s been called “the next one” since he’s been like 12
Please watch Connor Bedards rookie highlights:)
Home game 7 loss to the Caps for the Rangers? LOL. Swept em
Avs just throttled the Jets in the first round. Regular season doesn’t mean anything once the playoffs start
if you are doing hockey you need a Canadian flag behind you to make it authentic
#LGR!
Hell yeah
Oh the Golden Knights did more than just rest players lol
Go Avalanche!!!! Nathan MacKinnon is that good. Jets went down in 5.
As an AVs fan I have to laugh at whoever made that cheesy hockey review. They obviously don't really follow the AVs closely because it oddly felt like the 'national' perspective we see all the time. There's way more to this squad than ust Nate. And the captain isn't close to coming back. Anyhoo, just to show how off it was I enjoyed that gentleman's SWEEP of Winnipeg. Happy to sit back and watch Dallas and Vegas pound on each other before the next round.
Great reaction, lads. I got the Panthers winning it all. Im a Panthers fan, so im a little biased. My dark horse, Ill go with Dallas. #GOCATS #VEZINABOB
As far as the Vegas Golden Cheats are concerned, they're up to their usual shenanigans. Mark Stone was on the (LTIR- Long Term Injury List) and is magically healed and ready for the first game of the playoffs. That's 3 years in a row with the same player being "injured." The issue is that he is one of their higher paid players that takes up their cap space. So they signed several free agents before the playoffs started (while he was "injured"), are way above the cap now, and they are allowed to cause when the playoffs start the cap can be exceeded. As long as Stone doesn’t comeback before the playoffs. You guessed it. Hes back before the playoffs. They love them so good ole fashion skirting the rules. They have zero shame.
Don’t listen to what he said about a President’s Trophy curse. NYR won it and the Stanley Cup in 93/94.
You guys should maximize the video on the screen and minimize yourselves in the corner. With hockey, it's really hard to see with the screen minimized at the bottom like you do.
That would be a lot better but that’s also asking for a copyright strike
I actually prefer it this way. If I want a full screen of the video playing then I just go watch that video instead of a reaction to it.
Cats!
Cannnneeeessss
dallas now 3-2 up! poised to win the series
AV's McKinnon Makar still a good team the guy who made the vid Don't know shit.
Idk how hockey isnt the focus on this page at this time of the year especially.. Basketball and baseball are weak af
If you look at our releases and check out the community posts and watch the intro to this video then you’ll know that we’ve had personal issues that are more important and haven’t been able to keep up to date with everything that’s going on currently
Basketball has playoffs, how is it “w e a k” despite being less entertaining than NHL playoffs?
Baseball people will always pay attention to
I can't stand the Oilers or their fans. They will get smoked eventually. There is no way in hell they win a cup anytime soon.
I’ll come back to this comment when they do 😊
@@DNReacts Don't listen to the Edmonton fanboys telling you that the team is the cup favorite every year. Their roster says otherwise. When everything is said and done they still rely HEAVILY on McDavid and Draisatl to win games for them but hockey is a team game. Colorado, Dallas, or Vegas are going to crush EDM.
Let's go Avs!
Edmonton
Let's go Panthers! 😾🏒
