Billy is a good brother who occasionally makes dumb decisions, but does the best he can for Tim. Their parents abandoned Tim, Billy is a good person for sticking around to take care of him, because he didn't have to stay.
I like how they made it real as well. In most media he would be the perfect father figure, but here he's a complex character. Someone in Billy's position would have resentment that he wasn't given a choice and that would be bottled up because he has to keep everything afloat.

It's always so funny to me because Saracen is exactly who you want to date your daughter as a dad, but as a coach, it's absolutely the last person because the coach has to have a good relationship with his QB.

Not sure if you guys checked out the film. The film is a much more realistic portrayal based off a non-fiction book, the show is more fictionalized and dramatized to keep you watching. Still a great show, but the more accurate depiction of HS football is shown in the film.
