Yeah, the discovery surprise of all those amazing little touches was a big part of the joy for me. As much as I’d like to share more in the video, I don’t want to rob any potential buyers of that joy by showing them. Hope it works out.
Awesome video, I caught some of the streams and can say I was utterly enthralled. So much eye candy, definitely gonna pick this up when I get the chance! P.S. "Better than Half-Life Alyx" would be a nice clickbait to include in the title 😈
"better than alyx" 🤣 you saiiiid iiiiiit. And it is wayy deeper , every parts of that game is years in advance than any others "pcvr adventure fps" the list could be very long : weapons, reloading, grips, music, lighting, level design, surprises, soundtrack, worlds and crazy levels changes (this "blood church" after the boss o_o the way it is made, I never saw that in a vr game at all) , the sea and the waves physics, the AI and the voice-over hard work (i love robot number 13 way to speak and some details in conversations). I got completely amazed on top of being amazed around chapter 10 11 12. I was already pretty hardcore fan of the episode 1 but I got slapped in the face again even if I expected it on my side. You didn't expect anything and it was nice to see your stream, we sometimes felt the need to share to the world about this crazy dev Zach, noticed that you didn't say anything about him to keep the neutrality of the test but "wooo one dev alone broooo 😆". (sorry for my english everyone)
@@BradHebert Better than Valve as a whole? Neah, but it is more enjoyable than Alyx imo. The dev is a contractor who worked with Valve before, too, and it's clear he's a huge fan of their work.
i played it 2 times already normal and NG+ Hard, it has some problems that really piss you off but then it is a captivating atmosphere and the story is as well, it is an instant classic for me!
I didn't like it and I don't share that it is a game that is comparible to Alyx in terms of details and polishness. Especially Polishness, because it felt like a banch of maps that you complete one after another. With a lot of visual bugs, like when you grab stuff or recharge, that has to be made in certain poses, that breaks immersiveness Honestly, would like to see a detailed observation on that take, because it is really not there for me. It happens second time, actually. First one was with the title Legendary Tales, which I still find uterly bad.
Agreed, from other reviewers saying "Better than HL:Alyx" the Vertigo 2 demo disappointed me. There is not a single scene where I was in awe of the visual experience. The AI also does not feel very alive, although they do pop-up at good locations. One could argue the comedic value and wapen originality are beter than Alyx, but without a list of parts that are better... its just a statement like 'Its better than StarCraft 2'. Sure if you want to play a FPS or hate RTS. With linear story driven games its hard to say what is great about it without partially spoiling the game, so maybe this is why there were no specifics. Its great there is a new game that is finished and has something new to offer the VR game lineup.
i didn't like it at first either, i played the demo and felt janky, like a early access normal pc title, but the more you play it, the more you get to like it(and sometimes really hate it but being made by a single dude?)i hate the boat section, it is so awful to reload and have a proper experience and i played it through 2 times, on normal and NG+ , but there are many instances where i feel the wow effect even after finishing it Alyx is another entity entirely, you are always on "wow" mode but it shares the same core experience, only much more polished and much easier
Wow, that WAS highly summarized. Well done.
The healing effect really is an amazing touch. That's what this game is full of, amazing touches.

I will mate! Downloading it as we speak!!!

Broken english aside, you could not be more right. Valve can never push similar quality games to this one
Y'all are hyping this too much. It's a great game, but saying it's better than Alyx (and Valve as a whole? come on...) is hyperbole.
@@BradHebert well I had more enjoyment, surprises and lot more that I could add. I'm not hyping, I just wrote why I like this wonderful game.

this is my favourite vr game, happy to see somebody else thinks it’s better than Alyx
This might as well be an official trailer. Keep up the good work
man your videos are just perfect.
Now i see why you’re so hard on other Vr games
i played it 2 times already normal and NG+ Hard, it has some problems that really piss you off but then it is a captivating atmosphere and the story is as well, it is an instant classic for me!
Can not wait to give this game a try! Would you say it would be best to play Vertigo Remastered before jumping into this though?
Not at all, you’re fine to start with V2 👍🏻
Vertigo remastered is good but it definitely is dated for a vr game of todays standard
V2 is a direct continuation of V1, but there is a small recap at the beginning of V2.
Awesome brother ^^

Indies are definitely where the innovation and real fun in games is, despite the jank here and there. Be it VR or flat screen.
yippee
DAMN better than half life alyx!

Though, feeling effect was nice.
I've played both and I like Alyx better overall.

well, you talked me in to it. I just hope it's quite unlike the trash they sold me in vertigo (*1). That "game" was a steam-ing pile.
