Enduring long thick coarse layered curl to coil tinted locks that are in Rebellion! Total Rebellion! Really feeling the need for the 6... absolutely...❣ Thanks for your outrageous work here Mel ❣
Mel, it doesn’t matter what topic you cover, watching you just brightens my day! Thank you for all the content and great insider info you provide. I love the way your curls look, so bouncy and healthy. Both sides look good but I think the side with Olaplex No. 6 with the added oil looks a tad bouncier with more controlled volume. I will keep an eye out for the Sephora sale so I can try Nos. 5, 6, 7 and 10 on my salt and pepper curls.
On the Olaplex store app they have a gift set that has 9 or 10 sample products you also get to pick a free sample with each purchase. They aren’t big bottles but there is enough to know what you like or don’t like so you don’t have to buy all the products. I love the new #5 leave in I ordered it full sizes and it helps detangle, moisture, heat protectant and split ends. But to much makes heavy product problem. A little goes a long way ❤ but 3, new 5, 6, and 7 I do love
That's a tough choice: the volume vs definition debate always depends on my outfit + the event. I got into Olaplex bc of your content and send your videos to my wavy/curly/coilies when they hit a road block. Thanks for always being a wealth of knowledge and ray of sunshine!
I had 5 and 6 plus the gel for a few weeks and they were just all right. But then this week I bought 9 and used it for the first time last night. THAT is the magic ingredient for my hair! I have fine hair that can easily get weighed down, and I had juicy springy curls!
Hi Mell. I love how you explain things so it makes sense. I will have to try the number 5, I have tried the number 6 and I like that. Thank you for all you do, you brighten everyone’s day.
I just found you by looking for a video on how to cut bangs on curly hair. I’m now on video number 7. I loooovvvveeee your energy! You’re super informative and it definitely helps!!❤❤
I’ve only tried Olaplex no 9 and it’s amazing. I’m going to have to try No 6. I don’t have damaged hair even though I color my hair. I mostly retouch my color with Jazzing and Ion color Red conditioner so no damage. I want to try the gel but at $30 it’s a bit much. I love your hair in the Bob style. ❤ I like the right side ( your left).
So 1st like so many others …Love you Mel❤. Now to business, can and should one use No 5 leave in AND No 6 to cut down on frizz? Just started using Olaplex. 4,5,5 Leave in,6,7,9,10. I love them! Love 10, really love the way curls look! But have frizz, so guess I’ll use 6 also.
Thank you for breaking these products down. But, it looks like they discontinued the no 5 leave in the States (I live in Florida). So, unfortunately I can only get no. 6 and 9. I want to have the versatility to go from curly to straight. Because I get bored with my hairstyles and the struggle is REALLLL in the middle of my hair…. It gets SUPER DRY. And I don’t know what to do!😢
What I do know if you're going to use anything to protect your hair from flat ironing you need to add that serum on your hair when it's dry and not wet so it depends on what you're going to do to your hair if you're going to leave it naturally curly or if you're going to blow dry and flat iron it because flat iron serum needs to go onto your hair dry
Thank you so much for your content!!! I’ve been subscribed to your channel for years. Your “short curly bob” haircut video tutorial was a lifesaver during the pandemic lockdown and I have used it and your other tutorials on myself and others so many times. I can’t thank you enough!!! ❤ I was wondering if you’d be so kind as to answer a question for me… My tap water has tons of chemicals in it (I can smell the chlorine, it’s so strong). I drink filtered water but I can’t afford to install filters on my shower. Do you have any recommendations for products to help heal or protect from some of the damage caused? My hair is getting super brittle and dry. I have used the Olaplex No 6 for years on every wash day but I can’t tell if it’s helping or not. (Plus a leave in conditioner or primer, gel, and OI oil.) I’ve also tried conditioning treatments and ACV clarifying treatments and nothing seems to make any difference. My hair is thick, slow to absorb water, a mix of 2c/3a, I don’t color it, and I rarely use heat tools other than a diffuser w heat protectant products. Any advice would be so appreciated!!! I’m at a loss.
So, I've used olaplex 4, 4c, 5, 6, and 9. Just bought 3,4,5,6, and 9. My hair doesn't like being brushed at all! I've tried. I did a method in which I comb in the shower plopped and then smoothed, prayer handed it and I thought it looked better and didn't disturb the curl pattern like the brush does.I am going to try this no brush method again combined with olaplex products because I tried it once before, and it was good. I just get brush happy and brush brush brush too much and ruin everything. Do you have any advice about the no brushing phenomenon that actually has been the way most curlies have styled their hair forever before all these styling brushes became the rave? When's the last time you styled with out a brush?! I know a lot of curlies that don't brush!
I went blonde this summer and struggling with the definition I used to have when my hair was virgin . What products do you suggest would work best for me? Cuz I’m still confused 😂
I had not embraced my curl for past 20 years until I was forced to after over processing and stress thrashed my hair. I had been doing it all wrong, thank you for educating me and all your tips and tests have helped, my hair has not been this healthy in a long time ❤
I'm relatively new to the curly girl method.... Thought i had frizzy hair for years (since my hair was silky smooth/ straight throughout my life until 40's). I have been wondering which Olaplex to try.... still not sure... I have low density, highly porous (read colored...lol) hair that is frizzy. Thinking I should add No. 6???
Can you suggest product for grey 3 b,c with possible 4A grey mature curls. Oh and silicone free? The most concentrated of my greys are on my crown.. those greys laugh at any product I try or even, product combo.
Question, just in case...Can No.9, No.5L and No.6 be layered together (sparingly of course), since they all serve a different purpose or would this weigh the hair down? Thanks in Advance!
Hey Mell! I noticed lately that my hair is its least curly on wash day. As the days pass, my hair gets curlier. Why might that happen? I have really tried to apply light weight and few products to avoid weighing my hair down, but my curls get much tighter as the days go by.
Nieve question here: If I buy 1, 2 or 3 of these products just to style, and broke the bank, does it matter if my shampoo and conditioner are cheap AF affordable options?
Think about your scalp. You want a healthy scalp to produce strong follicles and most cheap shampoos will strip the scalp of oils. What about L’Oreal Tech range? Or finding a bargain in TJMaxx?
@@PhDGoldVee Thank you for that, i appreciate the chim in. TBT, shhh don't tell, but I watched another curly girl youtube page, I'm throwing no shade btw, but her advice were a few affordable brands for shampoo/conditioner. my hair type. I ran out and got 2 brands of S/C and one bond deep condioner. But now I'm too broke for expensive stylers. But GAH my scalp is very tender and I can't keep a curl. Plus, finger tangling or my Wet Brush are the only thing good about wash day. I did a pure aloe vera jelly treatment and that was ok but didnt treat my sensitivity and even a rosemary oil before shower 2x a week isn't helping. I am lost on what I'm doing so wrong, but I get it know more clearly. I spent a far chunk on the 2 sets and conditioner and oil, so maybe Santa will bring me help and the right products next month. lol
No, the No.5 hair conditioner is still available. The leave-in is called No.5L and Honestly, this should've been another number but I don't own the brand, so.🤷🏻♀️
No. 9 would be great for your greying hair! Then decide if you’re looking for a styler or a leave in conditioner to help you decide between 5&6, they’re both great!

I had olaplex 3 and I heard that olaplex catties hair loss. I stopped using it.
I tried the oil and it gave my hair really bad static lol
I did not know that!😱😝
Can someone tell me, if you use the leave in conditioner + normal conditioner or do i leave out the normale one?
Should I be ware of keratin treatments FOR curly hair???❤
