I admire how Chinese talented players who are too many to mention their names, allow and even train fellow Chinese players to achieve their own destiny. You are right. However, Chinese national team doesn't necessarily assign personal coaches of the players who are participating a certain tournament to go with them. Last year, when Xu Xin and Fan Zhendong were at the World Cup, the coach that went with then was Ma Junfeng, who was not a personal coach of either player. This is much more common in the world tours. I know that normally the personal coach or even the head coach should be there when it's a world title event, but ever since the end of June, it has been just...a mess... As you can see, neither Qin Zhijian (head coach, Ma Long's personal coach for the last ten years) and Ma Lin (Ma Long's current personal coach) has been coaching in an international event since China Open. FYI, Lin Gaoyuan's personal coach is Liu Heng (he coached LGY at Austria Open).

Ah yes you're right. It might be not also his setup blade. But players at his level will adapt very quick. Retired at the age of 31 was just too early. But it is natural at the Chinese National Team.

I did not, but I see it now. Maybe something I should pick up as in Sweden it is sometimes a bit limited on the penhold side even in internet shops (unless one goes for international sites). I have found the balance to be a bit weird though (when I test others' bats) but if he can do it, surely I can too (ehm)...

It is a waste of time when Lin trains with WANG hao. No one plays like WANG hao so the pattern and combination of the ball are different. They will miss Liu goluong.

radioheadnyc train with and play with is different. Liu guoliang shows them the pattern to win the point. He didn't play with them like in a match for training purposes.

They don't train in patterns. They are trained to return any ball. Pattern cannot win. If a player have a pattern you never played before that means you lose. What you see here is basics they train and match play.
