      1. Any idea why Chrysler split the back drivers side LATCH system between the seats.. so if I have to use latch for a car seat it takes up two seats and I can't use a high back booster on that side. :/
      2. You may want to address the spare tire or lack there of if there is a vacuum and where the inflator and spare kit is. I still can't find the kit in my brand new 2023 AWD Touring L, but mine has the vacuum where the spare could be, and I can't find the kit.
      Also, thanks for the video. I've been trying to figure out how to get my heated steering wheel and seats on when the car starts. Not sure how I missed that when exploring the features but this helped me figure it out!

    My 2015 Grand Caravan R/T has 87K miles and has been flawless. But as someone who generally keeps vehicles for 90K to 100K miles, I'm naturally considering my options for a new minivan. The Pacifica Touring L AWD has long been at the top of my wish list (I won't be without the fabulous Stow-N-Go!), but three things you mentioned trouble me: 1) Only one glove box? Our Caravan has two (high and low); 2) I don't like that the heated-seat controls are relegated to the touch screen; and 3) the center storage console looks inadequate. The auxiliary space you pointed out (at the back of the console) is more convenient for mid-row passengers. Are these disappointments deal breakers? Perhaps not. But I appreciate the "heads up" you have provided in this video. Great job!

    • @automaticYT
      @automaticYT  Рік тому +1

      Hi there, yeah unfortunately there isn’t a top glovebox. And I would say the center console really isn’t a center console. It’s like a small cubby. Which I was really surprised by. Then I discovered the reason that is the case is because the storage under the center console accessible from the rear seats. Pretty odd design choice in my opinion. They could have made the console longer in length to accommodate both storage options in my opinion.

    Thanks for this video. I am renting a Pacifica next week for a 3800-mile trip. I'll be going by myself and will need to use the cargo area with all rear seats folded away because I'm hauling a few long items that can't be exposed to the weather. (The Pacifica looks to have the "smoothest" floor once that is done....a great place to get a nap in at a rest stop.)
    Does the passenger seat fold forward, BTW?

      @@automaticYT We just leased a 2023 hybrid (plug-in) Touring L Pacifica, getting an increase in mpg(e) over our previous 2021 gas Pacifica (that avg. 21 mpg) to approx. 31 mpg,; charging the battery 1% to 100% every night. We can drive approx. 30 miles on just the battery.
      A Level 1 (110 volt) charger came with the Pacifica and takes about 14 hours for a full charge (1% to 100%). We also purchased a Level 2 (240V) 'Chargpoin+' Fast Charger from the dealer ($580) and we'll have it hardwired by a licensed electrician. A full charge should take about 2 hours. (In CT there are significant incentives when buying, installing and using a charger.)
      Note: The battery is located under the 2nd row seats, so there is no 'Stow and Go' feature for a hybrid Pacifica; but we love it anyway.

    I have a 2017. The stow and go seats are great. The engine has enough power for my needs. The transmission is quirky when shifting from park into drive or reverse. It has poor traction, frequently spinning when pulling out and in snow it is a poor performer. I love the vehicle over all and would love to try the AWD version, as I think that may overcome the negatives of the 2017. It would also be really cool if the stow and go seats were motorized.

    • @automaticYT

    How is reliability of Pacifica vs Odyssey over the long term?

    • @automaticYT
      @automaticYT  Рік тому +1

      I think it’s pretty good for the gas engine Pacifica model. The engine has been around for a while and as long as you do the routine maintenance, it lasts just fine. The hybrid Pacificas tend to have issues from what I have heard. But in ultra long term (like 100k miles plus) Odyssey may edge out the Pacifica.

    We just got the 2023 Touring L AWD for about $50K. I appreciate the little gems about the control panel. One thing i have to get used to is the dial for the gear box right next to the volume control. We graduated from the Caravan and this is the HUGE adjustment for me. Makes ne wonder what happens if I accidentally change gear instead of the volume dial while going 45mph. 😬

    • @automaticYT
      @automaticYT  Рік тому +1

      Yeah I get what you are saying. But the reputation of a car brand as a whole is somewhat different than if you look at a particular vehicle. The reason I say this will last is because this isn’t a full redesign model year for the Pacifica nor does it have a completely new engine. so the issues introduced with the redesign with this model should have been ironed out by now. And since the engine is the same as they have been using for a while, issues there should be addressed as well. Of course assuming you do the regular maintenance and keep up, this one should last.

      They use to have an accessory compact spare tire that stores in the left side of the rear where those shelves are. But someone said they no longer offer it. I'm going to check into it. My Tesla has no spare either and I carry a plug kit and small compressor and it can get you out of most situations, short of the tire disintegrating, but still nothing as good as having a real spare.

Besides the Toyota and Honda my family has owned and both suffered from rust badly and reliability issues so far as saying those are so great they're not.
