ik this is a month late but -ita is the feminie version of the ending. so Casito and Casita both mean the same thing. So this gives the distinction that its a girl house.

What I love about her voice is she genuinely sounds like a 15 year old girl, unlike a lot of the earlier Disney princesses where they were supposed to be 16 or really young and they had singing voices of obvious adults

8:47 "The Family Madrigal" is song at the start of the movie, to introduce family members and to bring the happy feelings at first about the family before we start digging more into the family members' stories. It's still a great song but obviously they won't start the movie with their best song. Gotta keep it great until the end.

The whole soundtrack is amazing. "Waiting for A Miracle" and "Two Oruiguitas" will make you cry and "What Else Can I do?" is amazing as well!

I think the fact that Mirabel's voice in this song does not blow your mind like the others, but is nice and make you smile is like, a huge part of the character too.

@@brawlt0t0lymp1c7 I think it has to do with personal experiences. Some people can relate a lot to this movie and the characters in it. Some people may relate more to Rapunzel in Tangled. It all depends on how you grew up and what you experienced

Nick's explanation of her voice as opposed to others fits the movie so well, Mirabel is the anchor. She's soothing and supportive. Abuela is kinda similar but she has a weakness to her voice because she's coming to her end as the "anchor"

There's a theory that Abuela projects herself and the life she never got to have onto Isabella hence why she always feels the need to be perfect for the family and why marrying Mariano is important because he shares a likeness to Abuela's husband Pedro and why she never lets her make any mistakes.

in case no one else has said it, her singing voice is Olga Merediz. She's a FANTASTIC actor and singer, and she also plays a different Abuela in another Lin-Manuel production, In The Heights (both the movie and the Broadway version). She is widely regarded as the best part of In The Heights
She also plays Rosa Diaz’s mom on Brooklyn 99. As we all know, Rosa is played by Stephanie Beatriz, who voices Mirabel!
In the same movie there is the song "2 oruguitas" by Sebastian Yatra (the song is in Spanish in all the movies, even the English one), could you react to that song and its lyrics? That song touches the heart of all of us T_T
In Italian we have a translated version of Dos Oruguitas, it's beautiful but the lyrics in my opinion (like unfortunately in the other songs) lose the magic of the original.

Dos Orugitas is the saddest song in the movie. It’s heartbreaking in the most beautiful way but it will give a big part of the story away.

This song introduces the movie! introducing everyone and what their gifts are and i think it’s the perfect introductory song! Not quite as emotional but upbeat and hype! If you thought “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” and “Surface Pressure” were touching you have to react to “Dos Oruguitas”, it will make ur eyes sweat! Especially if you know the meaning and sentiment of the words since the song is in Spanish.

My favorite song aside from We Don’t Talk About Bruno is What Else Can I Do. I love this song because it shows that no matter how hard you try to be “perfect” it won’t work out because nobody is perfect. She had many expectations as the oldest and the “prettiest” to be the perfect child, she couldn’t be herself with all these pressuring expectations. I love how in the song she finds her true self, I just think that’s super awesome
The kid with the coffee had me cracking up! Plus Dolores and Camilo's parts are my fav in we don't talk about Bruno. Not to mention, I love when they all combine their voices at the end of the song. Overall, it was a beautiful and humorous movie. Loved it!

"Waiting On A Miracle" is also great -- I consider that the only other song you could watch without getting too much into spoilers. :) These are the first four songs of the movie, and the others all have a lot of plot resolution. So I'd recommend watching "Waiting On A Miracle" or the movie here!
Would also avidly follow any reactions to the music from the In The Heights movie... Lin Manuel Miranda wrote the music for Encanto and that was his first musical. The movie version was released last year and it's pretty incredible lyrically/musically/visually too!

These are all so 🎵fantastical and magical🎵 there are "all of you", the finale song, "what else can I do?", Isa's song after mirabel gets a vision from bruno and has to hug Isa, and I believe "Waiting on a miracle" after Antonio gets his gift. If u want to count them, "Encanto" is spanish song. It's nice with subtitles cuz they translate. And the other song in Spanish that play during story time near the end of the movie. In english, it translates to "Two butterflies"
actually, there is no song called Encanto in the movie, but since there's only one other song in Spanish besides "Dos Oruguitas", you're probably talking about "Colombia, Mi Encanto", and dos oruguitas means two caterpillars, not butterflies. that is mariposas in spanish.

There are more songs oops! "Waiting On A Miracle" is Mirabel's "I want" song. "What Else Can I Do?" is a duet with Mirabel and Isabela. "Dos Oruguitas" is so pretty, but if you're throwing together a film reaction (maybeeeee??) I think it's the best one to listen to with the movie instead of by itself when it comes to the first listen.
I love these other songs too. Waiting On A Miracle, What Else Can I Do, and The Miracle is You. All of them are amazing and you should react to all of them.

I would suggest for you to react to “What Else Can I Do” which is a song from Isabela’s perspective or “Waiting On A Miracle” which is a slower more emotional song from Mirabel’s perspective and shows how she really feels.

I love how this song portrays who she is. She is nothing special compared to her sisters, and you can sense that from comparing these songs together, but you can also tell that she is insecure about herself because she has no gift, so she is kind of afraid of the spotlight, so she tries to tell these kids all about the rest of her family to get out of the spotlight because it scares her because she is insecure about it.
Mirabel gets her own emotional solo called Waiting on a Miracle and it makes me cry everytime
