Gary is a pretty mean mon. I love playing it. I still haven't tried Bounce since the change. I always played Bounce prior to the change (obviously), but I usually engaged with breath first and bounce to follow. Changing my play style completely with the change to Bounce seems like a hassle. Jake, do you find it better than Waterfall? The Waterfall changes are amazing and it feels like such a great move now.

@@zaiah2solid yeah. Just because u see so many gyarados pentas, don't go jumping into every fight (ik this is the same with every Pokemon but with gyarados it's especially important cuz of the insane clips on the internet cuz it makes people think he can tank)

While being Magikarp, you can scratch at least 1-2 stacks before retreating. Magikarp has actually a decent early and can actually secure farming via Flail, just don't get too greedy on chasing KOs/Assists, stick your lane partner and wait to evolve to end your stackings. If your Jungle goes to your lane, you can afford going aggresive and have more chances to evolve really quick with assists/KO clutches. If not, you're basically forced to stay passive and sometimes trade the base, specially if the enemy Jungle pushes your lane.
After evolving into Gyarados, first thing first: avoid Aqua Tail. Just... don't use it. It has no value unlike Dragon Breath.
When using Dragon Breath, try to aim to the most amount of Pokémon possible (miniond count), so you can maximice the boost Dragon Breath grants.
There's no much difference between Bounce and Waterfall on how optimal they are. However, you'll prefer Bounce on MUs where there's too much CC/stuns, since you become Unstoppable when charging. Waterfall provides control and shielding like Bounce, but it takes more aiming and skill to do so. Bounce is immediate, but it requires positioning. Not much hard to understand both moves although. If playing Waterfall, Full Heal is a great tool, but Gyarados is run better with Escape Button, so you can reposition yourself when ulting, and take off guard foes who try to escape.
Gyarados is not a good frontliner, but it's a great teamfight initiator, and it can easily flip a fight with Bounce and its Unite Move. Go for the easy kills and save your Unite Move for important fights, but you can use it to escape if you don't have other choice.
If you ask for held items: Weight, Weakness Policy, Energy Amplifier, Muscle Band and Razor Claw are the main ones. Gyarados doesn't actually need stacking THAT much (although it's good for stacking) and you could replace Weight for Muscle Band. Yeah, your damage output would be lower, but it pairs really well with Dragon Breath's playstyle. You can even consider using Focus Band to gain a bit of tankiness, and allow you to stay fighting a little longer and with much safety.

How are you guys feeling about the length of time games take to start with draft? Are people leaving games too much for you? Noticeable? What do you think.

My game has been crashing still some of the time right when the draft starts so that may be another reason
I don't mind it too much. The one I mind the most is that after everyone pick their pokemon there's 20 seconds of doing nothing while there's barely any time to cast your bans. They should make that time either be able to sped up like outside of draft or just shorten it (or both). People don't seem to leave as much with draft.
@@MusicComet That is very true, certainly could be sped up. I mean, folks are definitely having issues with being in matches before they can start during draft; I'm getting it every day now multiple times a day. We'll see how things continue.

Yeah I hate the matchmaking. You do good and go on a win streak then they pair you w the worst players imaginable expecting you to be a Chris heroes and carry them.

Both are great really, it depends on your playstyle
I think gyarados is a lot easier if you wanna go that way.
they should keep gyarados the same but not allow karp to evolve until level 7

Any experienced player at least has 2000+ achievement points...
When my team has maximum 2 ppl with that including me (maximum)
And the opposing team get 3-4 ppl and 5 one with sub 2000 ach points🙃
And I am not even lying... Literally every match in this season is like that😭😭😭
