When I first began my vegan journey, it took me awhile to learn how to shop for plant-based products in my normal grocery stores. It also has taken me some time to find what restaurants had vegan food in my area. These are all common struggles, and it can definitely be easier to order plant-based products online. HOWEVER, supporting local businesses and supporting small businesses is SO important to contributing to your community! Especially when it comes to supporting and developing your local vegan community. There is a prolific vegan community in Austin, and it took me a year of being vegan to even find out about it! Looking up what plant-based or vegan options are near you and connecting with them online is the easiest way to discover your local vegan community.
